Shay's Return

A year had passed since Lucina had disappeared to the streets but that hadn't stopped Shay from getting what he wanted. The young immortal Blaz was now in chains while dried blood flaked off when he shifted against the wall. It had been so easy to catch him, all Shay had to do was capture Lucina and rough her up a bit before the heroic, and stupid, immortal had coming running to save her.

Shay twirled a knife in his hand; the immortal's blood still coated the edge slightly. "Are you going to tell me the secret to immortality Blaz, or do I have to force it out of you?"

Blaz lifted up his head, his sky blue eyes burning into Shay while black hair dye slowly faded from his hair by the day. "I'll tell you nothing."

"Fine." Shay swiped the knife across his face. "Todd, to me!"

The ginger ran down the steps and came to a stop. "What is it?"

"It has been what, about two weeks since we started on him right?"

"Yes." Todd confirmed.

"Well, he still won't talk." Shay slashed the knife expertly over Blaz's chest. "He won't say what his real name it, he won't say why he tries protecting Lucina, and he won't tell me how to be immortal!"

Todd gave him a confused look. "What do you need me to do?"

"Bring me Lucina's head." Shay glared down at Blaz. "By tonight."

"No!" Blaz struggled and received a sharp kick to his ribs.

"Then start talking!" Shay shouted to him and punched him in the head.

Blaz's head rang and he could feel blood roll down her face. "I don't know okay? I don't know what this is!"

"Todd, he's not cooperating, kill her." Shay waved the cult member away before adding an after thought. "Make sure it's as painful as I would've made it... better yet, call me and I'll come to you."

"Of course Shay." Todd replied. "But what if the police see us?"

"I told you before, they can't do anything to us, the case is closed." Shay spat. "Just don't let them see you!"

"Right." Todd ran off back up the stairs.

Lucina didn't know how long she'd been free from running away from Shay's followers but after a few days ago she was relieved she was forgotten. Her wounds from a year ago still weren't healed, or if they were they weren't healed properly, and the new wounds from around a week or two ago were still oozing blood at a nice steady pace. The injured knee Shay had stabbed had finally given out for the last time and now she was unable to get up from the alley she'd hidden in to avoid Shelly after her latest torture session. She knew she was dying, a doctor didn't need to tell her that, and she knew why too. Her family had given her shots full of blood as a child, blood that would help her be 'immortal'... the crazy lunatics... That same blood was now killing her. It wasn't accepted by her body, it never had been but she'd always had enough blood to function properly, and now despite the fact the false and her true blood were both bleeding out onto the ground, the false blood was staying in her body more than her real blood. Which was the part she didn't understand.

Once again she tried to get up but without the use of one leg she soon collapsed back onto the ground. She was going to die here and no one would even know until she was rotted down to the bone. Why had she decided to run from the police? Where was Blaz when she needed her help, surely he wasn't still Shay's prisoner? Footsteps echoed in the alley, coming closer, and Lucina felt fear flash through her as Todd came into view. When he saw her he gave a dark smile.

"Good to see you're still alive." Todd spoke up. "It would've made my job a bit difficult."

"You don't need me anymore." She tried to back up but her leg shot pains of protest as she dragged it.

"That's where you're wrong." Todd took out his cell phone. "Yeah Shay, I found her in an alley about three blocks from the house... No she won't be able to run take your time... Shay? Shay! What was that noise, what's going on over there? Shay!"

"Problems?" Lucina asked as the Immortal Blood member dropped the phone on the ground and turned pale. "You could just run along and leave me then."

"Shay's... I..." Todd shook his head. "No, he wouldn't let that immortal kill him that easily. I guess I get to finish you myself though."

Lucina flinched as he took out a knife and strode over to her casually. She tried to lash out but her attacks were weak and he easily pinned her down before sinking the small blade into her back, sides, spine, and lower skull. She struggled weakly to escape but the short break ended and she screamed, though it sounded more like a whimper, as he continued to plunge the knife into her flesh and spill more blood onto the ground. At some points her vision would spot and blur until she was sure she'd pass out but she never did. The knife went into her heart finally as Todd grew tired of the torture game and Lucina heard a gun shot go off before giving into the darkness.

Blaz dropped the gun and limped over to Lucina, Adam coming into the alley a few seconds later after disposing of Shay's mutilated body. He hadn't expected the immortal's help, but he was grateful for it. He felt pain was over him as he took in Lucina's dying form, nothing they did now could save her.

"Lucina...?" He held her cold hand in his. "Don't leave me, I don't want to be stuck here without you."

Her eyes flickered open for a few moments before closing again, a second later she let out a choppy sentence. "See... Ziggy... again..."

Blaz flinched. "Lucina, you won't."

But she didn't hear him; she'd already gone limp and lifeless after her final words. He should've told her after she thought he died, he regretted not telling her Blaz and Ziggy were the same, but at the time he had needed her on his side without being freaked out... now it was too late. He brushed past Adam and out of the alley; there were still Immortal Blood members to kill and considering both of them wanted the cult dead Blaz decided to make a game out of it. Adam had centuries of people he killed, Blaz was going to leave and get a head start on this batch... it would be a good distraction from Lucina's shredded form. He would get his revenge.
