A/N: this chapter might be boring but hopefully the next one won't be bad. I hope you all will enjoy.

Rainy days always made people tired or depress. It was always wet and never really fun unless you're a kid who likes to play in puddles. CHS students were heading straight towards their school with jackets on, umbrellas over their heads, or were running to protect theirselves from the wet tears.
The two friends, Rarity and Applejack, were heading up the stairs of their school and made inside. Applejack had an umbrella and was holding for her and Rarity to keep dry.
"Thank you darling." Rarity said as she walked to her locker.
"No problem sugarcube." Applejack said as she closed her wet umbrella. Little drops from the rain fell onto the school floor.
"So then what happen after that?"
Apparently outside, Applejack was explain go Rarity about taking Sunset Shimmer to her home the other day. She was a bit concern and wanted to know what's up,but she wasn't ready for another beat down with Sunset.
"After that I took her home and she just said bye and headed inside." She explained. "That place doesn't really look safe."
"Are you thinking about asking her about it?"
"What? Are you kidding? She probably get annoyed and be a jerk all over again. I think I'm just over reacting. I mean I never seen the inside of her house and if Granny Smith has taught me anything, it's that you can't judge a book by it's cover."
"Granny Smith will always be very smart." Rarity winked.
Lighting crash once the CHS doors open with a student walking through them. The poor student looked miserable and alone. Rarity and Applejack watched her walk in with no expression left on her face. Seemed as if she had no way to protect herself from the rain.
"Um Sunset?" Applejack got her attention and was received a glare of anger.
"What?" Sunset said with rage in her voice.
It actually scared Applejack. "N-Nevermind." She stuttered moving back against the lockers.
Sunset continues to walk but then suddenly falls backwards. Seems the little drops from Applejack's umbrella were still on the floor and made her fell.
The two girls gasped and Applejack walked towards Sunset again and reached her hand out to her. "Are you okay?" She asked worried.
"Don't touch me!" Sunset yelled as she pushed Applejack's hand away. She got her feet to stand still and hold herself against the lockers. She look at the two girls and took a deep breath. "I'm fine." She said in a calm tone. Then she left the two of them alone walking through the school. Little tears fell off from her hair as she walked.
"Sheesh." Rarity said crossing her arms. "Someone certainly needs counseling."
Applejack looked surprised at Rarity. How could she say something so mean and rude? "Hey! Leave her alone! It's not her fault she fell and you have no right to say that!"
Rarity looked back at Applejack with widen eyes. This was new. "Why are you defending her darling? You've never done that and you use to say the same thing. Remember?"
Applejack's was about to raise her voice again but stopped. She realized it too. Why was she defending Sunset Shimmer? They were never friends. She had no excuse. Something was wrong with her.
She shook her head and said "I just think its rude to talk about someone behind their back."
"But..." Rarity was completely lost with her red-neck friend. "...Nevermind. Lets just head to class."
Then they both headed through the hallways to chemistry.

The day had passed and many students walked out of the building heading home. It still was raining and everyone was lucky to still have yet umbrellas and jackets. The teens girls walked out and looked at the rain.
"How long is this rain gonna last?" Fluttershy asked.
"They say it won't stop till Friday." Rainbow Dash said.
"Well that's good for me!" Pinkie Pie admire the rain. She ran into the rain and jumped in the puddings getting very dirty.
"Pinkie! Watch the skirt!" Rarity told we trying to back away.
"Sorry!"
"Let Pinkie have her fun." Applejack chuckled as her friend panicked on her skirt.
"Well I think I better get going. I has to make sure all the animals aren't lose again." Fluttershy said as she open her umbrella and headed off.
"This rain, I hope it won't ruin my hair." Rarity was a bit worried from that.
Applejack handed her one of her umbrellas. Apparently she had two for an emergency. Rarity promise to give it back to her tomorrow and headed off with it. Rainbow had on her long sleeve jacket and walked home with Pinkie Pie.
Applejack open her other umbrella and headed atria guy for her truck. By then, she saw in the rain, that Sunset Shimmer was walking in the rain all alone. She had her jacket over head but it wasn't helping. She looked so sad. It made Applejack feel her heart pounding as she felt horrible for her.
She walked to Sunset and surprised with the umbrella over her head. "What the-?" Sunset looked above her and saw it covering her. She turned, seeing Applejack smiling.
"Want a ride home?" Applejack asked.
"No thanks. I'll be fine." Sunset Shimmer spoke.
"I think you need one. You're gonna get sick from this rain."
"Yeah, and?"
"That's not good."
"Look, I'm just heading straight home. No biggie. Besides, getting wet is better than..." her voice trailed off. Applejack assumed that the rain made her voice disappear for a moment.
"Well let me do this for you. I can't let you walk off in the rain alone." Applejack said still offering.
"Why? Why do you want to?"
"Cause it feels wrong to leave you alone, even though you're a pain in the butt."
Sunset Shimmer was silent only looking at the ground. She finally sighed, sounding very annoyed and looked back at her. "Fine."
Applejack smiled and led Sunset Shimmer to her truck. Once they were both in, Applejack started the engine and moved her truck through the rain.
"You uh.... wanna still come over to Sweet Apple Acres and continue the book?" Applejack asked.
"I can't. I need to head home today. I can't be late again." Sunset answered.
"Late for what?"
"Non of your business."
"I was just wondering."
"Well stop wondering. Last night was already annoying staying there with a loser like you."
Applejack wasn't really in the mood to argue. She just ignored Sunset and continued to drive through the rain as it got hard. It began to look thick which worried Applejack a lot. She decided to hope that it won't get bad and she'll get Sunset home so she can relax.

Almost an hour or two has passed and they were still driving in the rain. This began to worry Applejack as the rain was getting so strong, she couldn't see the road or anything. It was so thick.
"Are we there yet?" Sunset Shimmer asked looking out the window. She didn't look pleased of anything.
"I'm not sure sugarcube." Applejack responded. "I think I'm gonna have to stop here." She stopped her truck.
Sunset looked shock. "What?"
"I'm sorry but this rain is getting thick and the more if I drive without-"
"It doesn't matter! You have to keep driving." Sunset Shimmer raised her voice.
"Hey! I'm only trying to make sure we don't die by crashing into another car thank you very much!"
"I should have never come with you! Now I'm gonna be late more than ever thanks to you!"
"What in tarnation are you gonna be so late for that is important?!"
"It's non of your business! Maybe you shouldn't be messing with other people's lives and ruin it for them all cause you're thinking about yourself!"
"Myself?! Myself?!" That really made Applejack pretty mad. "I know for a fact that I do not think of myself! I think of others just as much! I could care less about what is happening to me! You know, I could have left you in the rain alone! I could have made you wet and get sick for all I care! But I actually think of others unlike you! When was the last time you actually cared about others other than your own problems?!"
Sunset only stared at the angry teen breathing heavily from all the yelling. They both were out of breath. They only looked out the windows away from each other. No matter what they do they're gonna get angry at each other.
"That's what I thought." Applejack muttered as she stared at the rain.
They have been staring outside their windows for twenty minutes at the most. They finally calmed down but didn't bother to look at one another.
Sunset Shimmer finally looked away from the rain and turned on the radio. It was playing a pop song that she seemed to like very much. She smiled at it and listen to words.
Applejack stared at the radio and made a face at the song. "What is this?" She asked.
"It's that fantastic new pop song. Thought I should play it cause I'm bored." Sunset answered.
"For the record, this sounds like trash, and you can't just mess with other people's things whenever you feel like it. Now let me show you some real music." Applejack then changed the station and turned it to a country song sang by a hilly billy male. This sees to be like Applejack's kind of song.
Sunset made a face being disgusted and said "Yeah I don't think so." Then she changed it back to her song.
Applejack didn't looked pleased and put her song back on.
They both stared at each other mad and starting to have a war on the radio. Sunset Shimmer would pushed Applejack away from the radio and she would do the same. "Quit putting that trash!" Applejack shouted.
"It's not trash! You are!" Sunset yelled.
CRASH!!!
They both shrieked in fear and then had a huge crash happen in the car. Unfortunately the lighting gave them a huge fright. They both didn't know what happen but found each other, in an awkward position. Sunset Shimmer was laying on top of Applejack in her seat. She stared down at her with her light sky blue eyes and was feeling her heart pound against her chest. Applejack blushed at the position and was trying to think of what to say about this. She could tell but this seemed more to be an accident.
They stared at each other for a few minutes but finally, they heard the radio go off again. Applejack's boot accidentally was on the radio and it started to play music. It was a country song but it was someone who was super famous that both of the girls seemed to like.
The song was "You belong with me" by Taylor Swift.
"Hey, I like this song." Sunset smiled as the radio was playing.
"I thought you didn't like country." Applejack reminded her.
"Yeah but Taylor Swift is just as awesome as any singer I know."
"Even as much as Carrie Underwood?"
Sunset looked surprised. "You know Carrie Underwood?"
"Well yeah." Applejack started to finally smile. "Granny Smith meant her in person one time and is a huge fan of her."
"My favorite song from her was "something in the water"."
"Boy howdy, I love that song!"
They laughed with each other as they seemed to like the same artists. But they stopped once they realized what just happen. And still, Sunset Shimmer was on top of Applejack.
"Um, can you get off me sugarcube?" Applejack blushed a bit embarrassed.
"Oh yeah. Sorry." Sunset finally got up and at in her seat again.
Applejack sat in her seat and looked down at her hands again feeling odd. Her heart was beating faster than a drummer in a band and butterflies flew everywhere in here.
"I'm sorry Applejack."
She looked at Sunset Shimmer with surprised eyes. What was she apologizing for?
"I'm really sorry. I guess I have gotten so use to believing that everyone prefers me gone forever and that they wish to never be around me. I thought everyone can only think about themselves. I guess I was wrong. I never even thought about another person's feelings other than my own. And I'm sorry for that."
Applejack only watched Sunset looked down at the floor. She looked as if she was going to cry. If only she had a camera. She smiled at Sunset and placed her hand on her shoulder. "It's okay sugarcube. I can see why you always think that. I always did when I finally started school but saw there are more people that care about others, more than theirselves."
"And I can tell. I'm a bad influence on it." Sunset said.
"No you're not. You just... kinda need to learn about it. Starting with me."
Sunset looked at Applejack and gave a small smile at her blushing her own cheeks of pink.
"Just stop being such a pain in the butt." She laughed.
"Can't promise that." She winked playfully.
Suddenly, the rain stopped. The windows were showing where they were and the sun was shining through the clouds. It looked beautiful. But once the girls looked out the windows, they saw Sunset Shimmer's apartment. Seems they were there all along but didn't know cause the rain block their way.
Sunset looked surprised to see her apartment already there. "Well, looks like you didn't need to drive me home now."
"I had no idea we were all ready here." Applejack looked surprised.
"Well I'll see you later." Sunset Shimmer got out of the car and walked to the apartment.
Applejack started her truck engine and was about ready to head off. Until...
"Hey!"
Applejack looked out seeing Sunset Shimmer at her door looking at the truck. Sunset had her small smile on again and said "Thanks for the ride!"
"No problem! Anytime!" Applejack said.
Then Sunset shimmer finally went inside. By then, Applejack drove off heading to Sweet Apple Acres, with a smile plastered on her face.
