A/N: alright! It's the eight chapter! And the next one is gonna be adorable! This one might be emotional so beware lmao and enjoy!

Tuesday had arrived and the girls were just about done with their book. They were at Sweet Apple Acres working on the last chapter. They sat on the front porch as the sun was setting; it was gorgeous.
Over the weekend and Monday, the two teenagers were getting just fine. They normally came to Sweet Apple Acres to work on the book a bit more, but they also play a few games with Applebloom and her friends, baked stuff with Granny Smith whenever dinner approach them, and Sunset always would braid Applejack's hair. She always knew how to make it a perfect braid. The two had become friends without a problem, and today was their final chapter.
Applejack finished writing and said, "And it is done! Now all we need is for you to draw the last picture."
"Alright then. What should I draw?" She asked.
"How about, since these two make up finally, they just hug each other?"
Sunset put thought into it and believe it was brilliant. "I like it. Then I can add the girls flipping the guy off."
Applejack giggled and said, "Sunset miss Cheerilee said we need to make this appropriate for the school."
"Awww." She pouted with a smile. "Well alright. I'll have it ready for tomorrow. Then we'll be done."
"Great." Applejack looked up at the orange sky as it was a little chilly. "Oh boy. Tomorrow is suppose to be a bit more cold. I get the feeling I won't work tomorrow."
"Why not?" Sunset asked.
"Well Granny Smith is taking Applebloom and Big Mac to Appleloosa so they could finish setting up the rodeo there. I offer to stay here and fix things up a bit. Though I doubt it's gonna happen."
"Well I'll be keeping you busy for sure." She chuckled. Suddenly, she heard a growl and felt her stomach rumble as it was being repeated.
Applejack giggled and said, "I think we deserve a victory pie for almost being completed." She then stood up and headed back into the barn to get them both a piece.
Sunset looked at the sun setting and saw how beautiful it looked. She felt excited the book was about finished. She only hope the last picture will be perfect. She really liked impressing Applejack.
She looked down at the spot her friend was sitting and saw her wallet was laying next to her. She knew she should ask, but she was getting more curious about Applejack's life. She grabbed and opened it revealing a lot of pictures of her past. There was one with Applejack very young when she had a lot of freckles as a child and she was feeding baby Applebloom. She also spotted a picture of Big Mac but at the age he was in now. But one picture really got her surprised. It was two people in the background that were adults and young Applejack, Big Mac, and baby Applebloom were in the picture. The woman in the picture seemed to have blond hair just like Applejack and had light blue eyes that were gorgeous. She wore a red top and blue jeans. Around her neck was an orange scarf with apples around it. The man next to her had red hair like Applebloom and orange skin with freckles cheeks like Applejack. He wore a green yellow stripe t-shirt and blue jeans being held by a brown belt. He also had green eyes that sparkle. Sunset assume this was Applejack's parents, but she felt she was wrong.
Applejack came back with the two plates with pie and sat down next to Sunset Shimmer. "Here we are. Victory pie!" She cheered.
Sunset thanked her and grabbed the pie taking a bite. It taste cold but they like their pies in that way. It was still amazing as ever. But once Sunset finished her small piece, she looked at Applejack, and asked, "Hey AJ. I was wondering, what really happen to your parents?"
Applejack stop eating and looked at Sunset surprised that she asked that. She lay her plate to sit in her lap and said, "Heh. Funny. I was just about to ask you the same thing. Well, your dad kinda."
"Well I asked first." Sunset chuckled.
Applejack smiled but let it fall as she was remembering what happen. She then sighed and said, "Well, I guess it happen when I was nine. Like I said before, they died in a fire. Applebloom was just born and we were living in Appleloosa to celebrate her birth. We were getting barbecue out. We don't always eat only apples. I was helping my ma and pa with the coals. But my ma accidentally drop the fire liquid on the floor. For some reason, someone was smoking in that home and the liquid got caught by it. Then it started to set the place on fire. My ma and pa did everything they could to escape with me, but it was hard getting past the fire. It was everywhere. Luckily my folks found an open window. My pa ran with me to the window and toss me over to get out alive. But my ma was caught by the wood and couldn't run. My pa ran back to help her. Then the place collapsed as the fire burned it down. There was fire on me and I kinda past out the whole day. I woke up on the hospital with a burning back. I ask Granny Smith what happen..... She told me, my ma and pa are in a better place..." Applejack had the tears fall down her cheeks. Her heart broke into pieces remembering as a child of what happen to her folks. She felt like she was nine all over again.
Sunset Shimmer wanted to cry to. This was so sad. But she did her best to stay strong and only placed her hand on Applejack's shoulder and said, "I'm so sorry Applejack. I shouldn't have asked."
"No it's fine sugarcube." She said rubbing her nose. "It's not bad. I know they are in a better place. I just wish they were here instead."
Sunset only looked at her hands, feeling disappointment. "Same here. I wish my mom was here."
Applejack looked at her lost and asked, "What do you mean?"
Sunset didn't look at her. She kept staring at her hands and only tried to hold in her tears. She sighed and said, "I guess it was my father's fault she left. You've already met him."
"That's the thing, why is he always like that?" Applejack asked.
"I....... I don't know really. I don't really know how my mom met him, or how they got married. I just know one thing: she loved me."
Applejack could tell this wasn't going to be good with how Sunset was speaking.
"I was five when it happen. She was always around for me as a baby. But constantly, her and my dad would always fight, but he would always win. He physically abuses her, just like me. He always would hit her and do the most awful things when she wouldn't listen. Everyday I would cry when he would only yell at me for something ridiculous. But she would always come into my bedroom and comfort me. My mom was my world. One day, I came back from school. I was expecting to see my mom but I never saw her. I only saw my dad in the living room watching tv. I only walked up to him and asked where she was. He yelled and spank me ten times. Then..... He took me to the bedroom..... And pulled off my dress...."
Applejack then knew where this lead to. She didn't want to believe it. "No. No he didn't..."
"He hurt me in certain parts." She began to cry. The tears fell hitting her pie and made her sniff a lot. "He does that to me everyday, and I would always cry for my mama."
Applejack didn't know what to say. She felt completely awful. It seems they both had a hard childhood with each parents; only Sunset had it the worst. "I'm so sorry Sunset. Why haven't you told anyone about this?"
"There's no where else for me to go. I have no relatives or siblings. I may be hurt by my father a lot but I can try to stay alive a little longer."
"But Sunset, you need to tell someone about this."
Sunset's eyes widen and said immediately, "No! Oh no! I will not tell anyone about him and neither will you! I don't want to go to another family even if they treat me right. It wouldn't be worth what I've been doing. AJ please promise me you won't tell anyone?"
Applejack felt it wasn't right to be quiet about Sunset's father. "I don't know Sun-"
"Please?"
"It just isn't right for you to-"
"Pretty please?"
"But-"
"Pretty pretty pretty please?"
Applejack could tell she wasn't gonna win with this. She sighed and said, "Alright fine. I promise I won't tell."
Sunset smiled and said, "Thank you very much Applejack."
"But I still don't think you should be quiet about this. What are you saying is worth for anyway?"
Sunset was quiet and didn't say really much after that. She felt awkward and only said, "I can't tell you."
Applejack only sigh and laid back. "Well, I guess I understand why you are always so angry."
Sunset smiled agreeing. She then took off her jacket and place it on her lap. She moved her other arm and revealed a red mark tattoos on her upper arm. It was a shape of a heart with a name printed on it: Sunny Heart. "I got a tattoo named after my mom."
Applejack was so surprised. "Whoa." She has never a seen a tattoo so close to her. "Well fancy that! But wait, I thought high school doesn't allow tattoos."
"They don't. But I got it anyway for free. I know a guy who's a little more supported to me."
"Well that is very unique Sunset. I always wish I could find some way to mark my parents on me, other than pictures."
Sunset could see her parents meant a lot to her. The tattoo was one memory of her mom since she no longer remembers her face. But then she brighten with an idea. "You know..."
Applejack then looked at Sunset as she had a grin spread across her face. "What?"

I A few moments later...

"Why? What did you convince me to do this?" Applejack was almost having a panic attack.
"Don't worry AJ. I promise it won't hurt." Sunset said trying to keep her calm.
After having a talk about Sunset Shimmer's idea, they headed to the old tattoo store that Sunset got her tattoo of her mother's name. She said Applejack could get her parents' name on her arm too. Applejack didn't even though that was the plan.
"I don't see why you had to blindfold me once we headed out in here." Applejack said.
"Because if I should you where we were going, you would have backed out. That's why I never mention anything about the tattoo until now." Sunset said.
"But-"
"Hey Sunny!" A voice caught their attention.
They both looked up and were greeted by a large man that wore a skull headband and a black shiny to vest to go well with her blue jeans. His skin was light yellow and his arms, legs, even his chest were filled with tattoos. He has gorgeous purple eyes and small orange hair.
Sunset stood up with a smile and walked to him to give him a hug. "Hey Artsicle!" She said as she pulled away from the hug. "How you been?"
"I've been great. My wife gave me the chulas this morning when I wouldn't get out of bed and into work. She put piranhas in my bed."
Sunset giggled at the sound of that.
"So who's your friend?"
"Oh this is Applejack..." Once Sunset turned her head, she saw Applejack was trying to escape quietly. "Who's trying to escape." She ran to her and held Applejack tightly around her waist.
"No! Let me go!" Applejack giggled.
"Come on. It won't be that bad." Sunset used all her strength to pull Applejack up and landed her to the seat once again. Artsicle was trying his best not to laugh.
"Dang you're strong." Applejack admitted.
"Yeah Sunny is a fiesty girl." He said as he walked to the two girls. "And I think you are a tough nookie."
"She is." Sunset laughed.
"But seriously. I don't really want a tattoo." Applejack tried to stand up again, but Sunset's arm stopped her.
"Why not AJ? You said so yourself you want to mark your parents other than pictures. What's the problem?"
She only stared at Sunset's blue eyes and saw she couldn't win this one. She felt more odd if she explain how her family generation works. But did she have a choice?
"Well it's just...... I don't know how my family is going to react. We..... We're not suppose to have tattoos."
"Why not?"
"My folks finds it evil. An evil mark. Something that remains permanent like a tattoo will never go away."
Sunset only sighed at her and said, "Well tell me Applejack. Do you believe it's evil?"
She stayed completely silent. She wasn't really sure how to respond to that. She never really thought tattoos were bad. She actually never thought of anything with them. "... No."
"Then you have nothing worry about. It's just a little bit of ink being permanent on your arm. I understand it's scary. It was scary for me. But I promise you AJ, I wouldn't put you in a situation if it hurt me before. I wouldn't want it hurting you."
Applejack felt her hand feel a gently touch. She looked and saw it was Sunset's hand trying to comfort her. She started to feel very safe with Sunset's words. She then looked at Artsicle as he was standing there being odd.
"I will promise you one thing girl," he said. "It's not that bad. It's gonna feel like a pinches on your arm."
She sighed by closing her eyes and took a deep breath. She then open her eyes and smiled at Sunset. "Let's do it."
Sunset Shimmer smiled at the farm girl and nodded at Artsicle. He bend down to his knees and began his duty. He ask what tattoo she wanted and where she wanted. Once they were getting ready, he had the needles getting ready and they touch Applejack's left arm gently. She whimpered nervous and held Sunset's hand squeezing tightly. She closed her eyes pretending it won't be there.
She felt nothing yet. She open her eyes and look at where her arm was getting the tattoo. The guy already started and she barley has felt anything. She smiled as she was feeling relief. Now she will have something to remember her parents by.

Twenty minutes later...
(Idk how long tattoos take XD)

"Just keep the plastic on for a few hours and Sunset will tell you when it's finish." Artsicle said.
"Thanks sugarcube." She said with a smile.
"Not a problem. You girls come back sometime alright?"
"Will do. Say hi to your wife for me Artsicle." Sunset said as they were about to leave.
"Will do sweetie. And you stay out of trouble."
"Can't promise that."
They waved goodbye and left his shop heading back to Sweet Apple Acres. They had to walk the whole way.
"Feel better about the tattoo?" Sunset asked.
"Yeah. I'm glad you took me there. And Artsicle is very kind." Applejack said.
"Yeah. He always know how to call a person for his or her tattoo. He's a good friend, and I think he did a good job."
Applejack's tattoo was very unique. It was her mother and father's names, 'Appleblossom' and 'Applebee', and what surrounded the two names were small little apples on each end. It was very amazing.
"Me too. I'm sorry I freaked out on there." Applejack said. "I probably sounded worst than a baby wanted his honey back."
Sunset laughed and said, "Nah. I can't blame you. I was nervous too. I'm just glad you gave it chance."
"Well I am willing to give anything a chance."
As Sunset heard that, she blushed and rubbed the back of her head. "Hey, that's what I've been meaning to ask you."
"What is it?"
"What do you think of.... Gays?"
Applejack stopped walking and stared at Sunset Shimmer as if she had ask to do something ridiculous. She didn't really know how to answer this for Sunset  Shimmer.
"Um.... Well.... I don't know really."
"Do you... Hate them?" Sunset really hope she was gonna say something positive.
"Well, not really. To be honest, I don't have a problem with it. I guess it's just a part of life."
"Well.... What if you were gay? You wouldn't mind it?"
"Well, I don't think I am since I never really have thoughts about women." That's when she realized something. "Actually, now that I think about it, I don't find men attractive at times too. But could be because I always work." She looked at Sunset and saw she had disappointment on her face. She wasn't sure why, but felt a positive answer would be better.
"But like I said, I'm not sure. Are you Sunset?"
Sunset blushes and said, "Who me? No way! I mean, if I did I could have totally dated someone already that's a girl. Well I did only have one boyfriend but he was a jerk."
Applejack could tell Sunset wasn't going to give her an honest answer. But then again she didn't even know what that whole conversation was meant for. "Well alright then. Let's just head home and tomorrow after school we'll finish up our book."
Sunset smiled as she was relief Applejack changed the subject. She only wish she could tell her the truth.

A/N: omg my books are so long when I don't realize how many words I have added in. And honestly I'm not huge in tattoos. I don't have a problem with tattoos but I am nervous of them. I'm not sure I'll ever get one. But if I do, sweet lol I hope you all enjoye this chapter and will squeal your hearts out on the next one.
