This story focuses on Kai's sadness and Aichi's helplessness to do even the simplest of tasks
Jades flickered uneasily towards the blue haired boy who was sitting beside him, it had been a few days since they had returned from the sanctuary, a few days since Aichi's soul had been shattered.
The guilt was still raw within the brunette's chest, renewed each time his gaze laid eyes upon the soulless boy.
"Come on Aichi, you've got to eat...."
The brunette whispered softly, expressionless blue orbs gazed towards Kai, the brunette was thankful that at least the boy still recognized his name.
"..........."
"Aichi....... You know eat?"
The brunette replied gently as he took a spoonful of curry and ate some to demonstrate, his voice slightly hoarse from concern, for the boy would do nothing but sit, and stare blankly if left alone.
It scared the brunette to see Aichi like this, especially when he remembered how the boy's sapphire gaze was almost always filled with kindness.
The blue haired boy tilted his head to the side as he gazed at the older, his lips were always lowered into a frown.
The brunette let out a soft sigh as he brought up a spoonful close to the younger boy's mouth.
"Please open you're mouth Aichi....."
The brunette asked, trying to coax the emotionless boy to listen, thankfully the blue haired boy did just that and allowed the older teen to feed him.
The older teen watched the boy chew, he was thankful that at least the boy's body remembered how to chew on it's own. After a few moments the chewing stopped, the brunette he rly ran his finger's along the young boy's throat to induce swallowing for if he didn't, the food would have just stayed in the boy's mouth.
This continued until half of the plate of curry had been eaten by the boy, then Aichi stopped allowing the older to feed him.
With a sad sigh, the brunette put the spoon on the plate, he was worried about the boy for he had been losing weight.
"I'm so sorry Aichi...... This is all my fault......."
The brunette whispered softly as he gazed into lifeless blue orbs, in hope of even the smallest of sparks of life.
The blue haired boy was staying at the older teen's apartment, his family had been notified about the boy's condition. He had been taken to a hospital yet the doctors were unable to do anything to help.
Thus the brunette had taken it upon himself to care for the young boy, as retribution for all the pain he had caused him.
He hoped that one day, if he kept caring for the boy, some signs of the boy's former self would take form once again.
The brunette slowly got up from his chair and scrapped off the excess food into the garbage, something that he had been doing far too often in his opinion.
He then began to clean the dishes in the sink, all the while the blue haired boy sat in the chair at the table, staring off into space.
The older couldn't help but have his gaze occasionally flicker towards the young boy, for he had recently realized just how precious the boy had been to him.
Yes he loved the boy, not as a brother but as a lover, yet the soul was what he loved, he had somehow fallen in love with the blue haired boy slowly over time, only to realize this fact once he had discovered that he was the cause of the boy's soul becoming shattered.
He cared for Aichi, thus he wouldn't lay a hand on the boy in any sort of romantic gesture, at least, not until the boy's soul had mended completely. Though he had no way to figure out if it was even going to mend in the first place.
"Come on Aichi, lets go take a walk in the park"
The brunette said, a strained smile plastered onto his lips after he finished doing the dishes, he wanted to tech the young boy how to smile so that he could once again see the boy's soft and caring smile that always used to grace his lips.
The brunette gently grabbed the younger boy's wrist and carefully pulled the younger so that he was now standing up.Iit made the brunette grimace at the fact that there was barely any resistance, reminding him that the boy was nothing more than an empty shell of his previous self.
"It's a nice day out....."
The brunette gently said as he helped the younger out on his shoes before putting on his own. Kai didn't want to give up on the boy.
"It'll be nice to take a walk...."
Kai added as he opened his front door and lead the boy outside, he was thankful that the boy's pupils actually dilated when they were exposed to the sun, it was reassuring to know that the boy could at least see.
"Isn't the breeze nice?....."
The brunette forced himself to sound uncharacteristically cheery, even though the reality was that he wanted to curl up into a ball and hide, hide from the boy whom he had caused to shatter.
Despite that he never once got a response, he had to keep forcing himself to be social, to treat the boy as if he was normal. In hope of one day hearing the boy's soft and kind voice once again.
The blue haired boy accidentally bumped into a older lady who seemed to be in her mid thirties, an annoyed scowl crossed her face when the boy didn't apologize.
"He's sorry..... He's just not well right now......"
The brunette murmured, receiving an annoyed huff, jades gazed down sadly towards the blue haired boy.
"You'll get better Aichi...... Your soul will return as good as new...... It just has to......."
The brunette whispered softly towards the boy, his jade coloured gaze swirling with pain and despair at the horrific thought that the boy actually might not get better and instead remain as nothing more than an empty shell.
