When we were done training for the day we sat in the garden were we used to play. Adreone had taken his armour off and put on a blue tunic, and black pants.

"You know... we never been separated for long... we have always been together, during fights, a war, our whole lives, for one hundred years..." Adreone said. Yes we were one hundred years old, that is extremely young for an elf, we were like a teenager.

"Yea... why are you bring this up, it something wrong? WHAT'S WRONG!" I said standing up.

"Nothing's wrong... at least with me" what was he getting at? I sat back down. Could it be queen Elaine?

"Is it your mom? WAIT IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE QUEEN!" I cried standing up again.

"No, No! If it were my mom i would have told you, I just have this feeling... that something very bad is about to happen." I gave him a worry look. And as if on cue, and exposition rang out of nowhere. I grabbed Adreone, and ran fo the place just as another explosion rang out. After we got inside more explosions came,

"Come on we are under attack we need to get to the safe place." I said starting to drag him, but her stopped.

"No, you need to get out of here, follow me" Her started to walk off.

"WHAT! No! I am supposed to guard you! Not the other way around. We were making our way twor the landing pad for flying creatures. ""What is he doing?"" I questioned in my mind. Suddenly he stopped at the doorway to the pad. He opened the door. I cautiously looked around.

"Stay hear" he said, I stood there while he walked to the edge of the landing pad. As he stood there, he let out a shrill whistle. I looked around for something to pop up. We stood in our places for about five minutes. I was starting to get fidgety, the explosions were coming closer. Sundently, a huge griffin came out, of the clouds, it was about twenty times the size of Adreone. It landed in front of him.

The Griffin had pearly white and gold  fur, with blue tipped feathers coming from its frill, it had two large feathery wings coming from its back, and a long dragon tail that was gopd and blue at the tips

He motions to come twords him, dumbstruck I walked next to him. I put my hand up and the griffin nuzzled it, it tickled my hand.

"Her name is Etharia, she is yours" I looked at it, ""mine"" I thought.

"Adreone.. I don't know what to say, How am supposed to ride something this size!"

"It was supposed to be your birthday present, but I thought now was a good time, and about her size? Well..." A moment later the Etharia had shrunk to the size of a horse.

"How are we both supposed to stay on this?" Adreone chuckled.

"We aren't it is just you" Adrone said.

"But what about you!" I said. The explosions were almost where we were.

"I don't even have a saddle!" I cried out.

"That is not important, what is is getting you out of hear" he said as he lifted me up onto the griffin.

"ACK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" I yelled, my face red as a cherry. He quickly gave instructions to the Etharia, instructions I could not hear.

"Adreone tell me what you are doing, THIS INSTANT!" I yelled.

But it was too late The griffin had lifted off, flying away.

"ADREONE!" I screamed. But I was to late, he was enveloped in flames. Tears running down my face, I hugged Etharia's neck as we flew away.
