The Romance Genre

"The Mandalorian and the Jedi: Book One of the Mandalorian Series"

Scoring and Review by Abigailk8:

Cover: (3/5) - The cover was pretty simple, loved designs around it and all.

Title: (3.5/5) - I think the title fits in well as the book entails the budding romance between Din Djarin and Kyra.

Blurb: (4/5) - The blurb was truly amazing, I loved the author gave hints of the problems they would have along the way without giving away too much.

First Chapter: (2.5/5) - The way the characters were introduced was very cool with Kyra waking up, getting on her speeder, and riding through the desert as she flees from the Imperials while Din taking the Mythrol were great ways to introduce the characters. I had a genuine lack of interest though from this chapter, I'm not familiar with the star wars theme in any way so I couldn't really enjoy the chapter.

Writing Style: (5/5) - The author's amazing writing style shone through the dark clouds of unfamiliarity I had with the main theme of the book.

Character Development: (3/5) - Din seemed to have developed with better way of handling overwhelming situations as in Chapter 5 he's seen reassuring Kyra that they could come out of their current situation and hopefully raise the child in a better environment.

Creativity: (4/5) - I haven't seen many books like this over the course of my reading experience on Wattpad and even if the are, the author has a unique way of writing departing her works from others diligently.

Story Phase: (4/5) - I think the last available chapter showed us a good place where Din and Kyra they were aware of the possibilities that could come their way. They seemed happy and ready to care for the child, which may lead to a good 'Calm before the storm' scenario allowing readers to anticipate later chapters.

Grammar/Vocabulary: (9.5/10) - The author did a great job writing a such piece without any form of mistake, at least none stood out in particular.

Plot: (8/10) - I loved the plot, it seemed like the perfect mix between romance and adventure so it was a really beautiful idea to imagine.

Emotional Impact: (6/10) - I think the affection they shared for the child was sweet to imagine.

Readers Engagement: (5/10) - The author had amazing descriptions which helped readers envision the surroundings around the Mandalorian and Kyra pretty well. Still, I have no idea how star wars books work so I wasn't hooked.

Overall Enjoyment: (8/20) - The author had a great writing style as I mentioned earlier, yet my unfamiliarity with the star wars theme really didn't help me enjoy it in the slightest. The author's amazing writing style and lack of error definitely helped push me to continue reading.

The Mystery/Thriller Genre

"Always Faithful"

Scoring and Review by Abigailk8:

Cover: (4/5) - The cover seems to tie in well with the plot of Lyla's heart, the simplicity of it also struck my interest. The font size was also good and the colour blended in with the background.

Title: (3.5/5) - The title seems to have been coined from Lyla's characteristics, hence it suits how she has been portrayed so far in the book.

Blurb: (4/5) - The blurb was well structured, there were no redundant or run-off sentences. You definitely added mystery with the last paragraph: "With emotions running high and tension growing, relationships shatter and dark secrets are revealed, leaving life-long friendships and romantic endeavours tainted as a dying woman whispers, 'Trust no one.'"

First Chapter: (3/5) - Here, I could see the effort you put into writing it and it actually paid off. I liked the first paragraph, where Brian was saying his tribute about Lyla. I loved how you cited the title 'Always Faithful' and it really went well with the rest of the paragraphs. Although, a word of advice I believe would work better for your story. The paragraphs are clustered in one making it difficult to readers to read.

Writing Style: (4.5/5) - You have a great writing style, the descriptions really helped me envision everything you were describing. For example, in Chapter 2, the way you described Elizabeth's house was amazing, it wasn't over the top, it was just right. You effortlessly depicted the emotions each of the characters were going through, in Chapter 3 we could envision how pained Brian was by Lyla's death reminiscing each moment they had spent together. Again, the paragraphs were all clustered so it bothered me most times while reading. Other than that, you have a good writing style.

Character Development: (2/5) - The story has not progressed well enough for the characters to develop, yet it has been good so far.

Creativity: (5/5) - I think it's a creative work, definitely not cliche. I haven't read tons of stories under this genre, but I can easily say it's original.

Story Phase: (3/5) - The last updated chapter added a lot more mystery to the book which is great. With Douglas being in town and the mystery behind him, it honestly made me want to find out what happens next.

Grammar/Vocabulary: (9/10) - There isn't any grammatical errors that stood out to me, so you did great with that.

Emotional Impact: (6.5/10) - I'm not the type to get emotional easily, so the book really didn't pull a lot of emotions out of me. Although, in Chapter 3 where Brian was going through all those emotions, I could feel that too. The loss of a loved one will always hurt no matter how much time flies by, so the scene really touched my heart.

Readers' Engagement: (8/10) - You had me wanting more from the prologue, so it's definitely a good read.

Overall Enjoyment: (17/20) - I loved the book, it was a good read. The major issue I had while reading was the spacing of your paragraphs. I believe your book will be a lot easier to read if that could be fixed.

"Between Two Worlds: A Prequel to the Mandalorian Series"

Scoring and Review by pertroliumjk:

Cover: (3.2/5) - The cover includes the title and main character, though it is not eye-catching.

Title: (3/5) - The title is too long but nice.

Blurb: (4.6/5) - The blurb was good, it added some quotes without spoiling the story.

First chapter: (5/5) - First chapter was excellent, it was something a reader would not get bored reading and would just continue till the end.

Writing style: (4.5/5) - The writers writing style was good, it included all the details needed, though it lacked description.

Character development: (3.7/5) - The characters were not something I was keen about as it included lots of long names that we needed to remember.

Creativity: (4.8/5) - Creativity was also very good, I loved the way the writer added adventure to a story like he/she did.

Story phase: (3.5/5) - It was up down continuously and was hard to identify the story phases.

Grammar/vocabulary: (4.8/10) -The writer's grammar was to the next level excellent, no grammatical errors.

Plot: (3/10) - I was unable to detect the plot as it included too many ups and downs in the story.

Emotional Impact: (3/10) - It did include a few sad parts, though that didn't really emotionally impact me as it wasn't described enough.

Readers engagement: (3.5/10) - It isn't something I would read again.

Overall enjoyment: (12/20) - I liked it though I don't think I would have went pass the 7th chapter if I was reading it for fun.
