"And here, Dr. Nier's prized experiment, Specimen 13 of the Spectrum Project."
The class turned around the corner and came face to face with a huge tank. Inside, it was practically empty, save for a white cot and a stool. Perched on the stool was a small girl, around 14 to 16 years old. Delicate strands of white hair floated around her petite body, some dangling on the various wires hooked up to her limbs. Everything about her was pale, like the devices she was connected to had leeched the life right out of her. Her eyes were closed and it seemed that she had fallen asleep while still sitting perfectly straight.
"It is the only one of the 39 specimens given to him to successfully complete the program. Every other specimen either has died or entered into a coma."
Someone in the mass of bodies raised their hand. "Um, what is the Spectrum Project?"
The tour guide turned towards the crowd and said, "13, like all of the other specimen, is completely blind. Through experimentation, we have discovered something truly amazing. I'll spare you the details but through a complicated program involving radiation and surgery, we can make it so that they can see. Not the way that we do but in colors instead. Instead of the normal 3 primary colors, red, blue and yellow/green, 13 can see 16 primary colors. Through a combination of those colors, it can see a living beings soul. Their mental and spiritual state can be seen and deciphered." Everyone's jaw dropped. No one could believe that such a thing could exist.
"For example, say that yellow is the color of happiness and blue sadness. Specimen 13 could tell you exactly what you're feeling right now. It's a breakthrough in the psychological industry." He turned towards the tank. "Though, its best if you don't try to communicate with it. I'm afraid 13's gotten a bit, ah, scrambled up in there. It barely speaks and when it does it's always nonsense. But we'll make sure it doesn't happen again, once we receive our new shipment of specimen."
Around me I could hear people whispering about how she was worth less now due to her defects. The poor girl. I felt my heart ache for her. It must be horrible to have to go through this and then be used as a display. "Now as we continue on our way, you'll see Dr. Wi-" "Red." A soft voice cut through. Everyone's head snapped to where the voice was coming from. In the tank, right in front of me, 13's eyes were wide open and staring into mine. I froze, unsure of what to do.
"What a pretty shade of red."

And that is all for catching up. From this point on, I'll be updating one chapter a day, possibly two if I'm in the mood.
QOTC: Which chapter is your favorite so far? Personally, I like the first one the most.
Thanks for reading!
