The Peacock Maiden
December 5, 2016. (Looks like I lied about the Halloween thing...sorry)
There once was a young maiden, who only wished to be beautiful...
And yet, when she had the chance, she got far more than she bargained for...
and vanished, forever lost in immortality and sin.

Now, I don't even know where I was going with this piece. I was originally trying to draw a human version of this little chubby character I had created (perhaps I'll show you guys one of them; his name's Gamma. I'm sure you'll love him), yet in a strange turn of events it became...this.
Next thing I knew, I found myself creating a backstory for this tragic maiden with the peacock-feather hairclip. Her face conveyed loneliness and heartbreak in my eyes, and I couldn't help myself: I became attached.
Well, that's what I always do, don't I? Get attached to my drawings? I'm sure someone out there can relate to me...
I kind of gave up halfway through her dress. I intended it to be lacier and swishy...er. Swishy-er. Is that even a word? Anyway, I gave up because it was taking me literal hours to figure out where the folds go, and how the lace would move in the drawing, and how to draw a freaking hand in general.
I'm actually quite proud of this one! I think this has to be my favorite piece in this book so far, and I'm quite surprised to see how I'm improving from my previous works! Valley Girl is nothing compared to this now, I'll admit that.
Now, big question: Would you like to see this colored? I would love to color it, but I don't feel motivated enough. Maybe with a little time I will, but for now she's staying forever black-and-white.
