Hey look!!! more!!! self-indulgent doodles of OCs!!!

This is gonna become a regular thing isn't it (EDIT: Ding ding ding! Wow, I predicted the future).

*sigh* Anyway, this is Mathias, a sneaky thief who needs a break, and part of the same story as Xavier. A small, struggling bean who seems tough, but is, in fact, a huge softie for the warm-hearted (this includes bonfires, dogs, and his family). He's got one friend named Cheshire (I'm...most likely going to draw her), who is basically the crazy friend we all wish we had (except when they're a lucrative dealer with an underground bunker buuuut-).

What I wanted more than anything, however, was an angsty doodle. I just...couldn't fit one in there, though. Maybe it's for the best.

It's one of my messier WIPs, but I think that's the best I'm gonna get. Same as last time, no coloring or anything like that. Just something I thought I'd like to share. After the Klance post, I needed time to recharge before I could really test my skills again. Don't have anything planned at the moment, but, I am considering a few things.

And I wanted to add more dialogue to that one doodle with Matt and his hair becoming loose, so I'm just gonna...add...the continuation of the conversation I'd think they'd have...over here...

"No, wait! Let me savor this...for a little longer..."

"Chess."

"Mattie. Do you not see the potential here?"

"Chess-"

"Imagine the hairstyles."

"Chess, I swear to God—"

Now, his fun fact?

In one of my older drafts, Mathias was actually the son of the leader of an elusive gang of thieves, and there was going to be this whole underground ring of thievery going on in the kingdom. Although I still think it's a cool idea that I would like to adapt in a later story, it didn't fit with the current arc, or the character. Just a needle in the haystack. He also originally wore glasses, for a dorky effect. I kind of miss him, sometimes.

When Chess threatens to drag him to places he could potentially relax, he'll go to a bookstore—specifically the small, corner-store café, Nabby'n'Brooks—and sink into one of the plush, cushy leather seats on the second floor. He'll pick out a light novel to skim through (any genre; he doesn't have a preference), and as he breathes in the scent of paper and brewed coffee, all of his worries slip away for once...
