=>You're Gonna Lose That Girl<=

Kathy stood there in the rain, with Paul's words replaying over and over again in her head.

"I was wrong in proposing to you last night."

"Does he mean that?", she asked.

As if on cue, the rain started pouring. In a few seconds, she was already soaking wet, but she didn't care. She waited for Paul to come back and apologize for what he said. She waited for his tight embrace around her small frame. She waited for his intoxicating kiss on her lips. She waited for him.

But he never came.

Just then, an umbrella shielded her from the violent rainfall. Her head snapped up immediately, expecting her one and only fiancé there.

Instead, she was met with a pair of ocean blue orbs and a heartwarming smile.

"Richard?"

"Hello. What are you doing here in the rain?", he asked.

"Oh, um, nothing. What are you doing here?", she evaded his question.

"I visited my cousin who works here. Her station is at the information desk.", he replied, to which Kathu just nodded at.

"You look cold, Kathy. Shall we go for some hot chocolate?", he offered.

"Oh, no, no. I don't have enough money with me-"

"It's okay. My treat.", he cut her off. She shook her head rapidly.

"Oh, no, Richard. It's too much-"

"I insist, Kathy. Now, c'mon.", he said m, taking her hand and leading her to his car.

"Well, okay then.", was all she managed to say after she wiped away her tears.

The ride to the shop was surprisingly fun. Richard told a lot of jokes which made Kathy laugh a bit. They also shares with each other some embarrassing stories from childhood. He really took her mind off Paul.

They reached the small shop and entered. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the whirring sound of the blenders filled their heads. The room was bursting wuth pastel colors and cute kawaii posters.

"Wow, this is cute!", Kathy remarked, and Richard smiled at her comment. They found a table by the window, and settled down.

"What would you like?", he asked.

"Just whatever you're having.", she answered.

Richard grinned and headed over to the counter. Kathy's eyes wandered throughout the small café and her eyes landed on a mini painting a couple sitting under a maple tree.

A jingle of a bell was heard. In came a tall man with moptop hair, high cheekbones, and crooked teeth, and was dressed in a suit and tie.

"Kathy? What are you doing here?", George asked the lady sitting near the window.

"Oh, hey George. I'm here with my friend-"

"George?", Richard came back with two cups of hot Belgian chocolate.

"Ringo? You two know each other?", he asked, pointing to the pair.

"Ringo?", Kathy asked. Richard laughed and put down the cups on the table.

"Yeah, it's my nickname due to my love for rings.", he explained, wiggling his fingers and exposing his gold rings.

"Oh.", Kathy muttered as she gazed at his jewelry. She wondered why she didn't notice them before.

"Take a seat, George. Let's have a chat.", Ringo offered, and George gladly did so.

"So, how did you two meet?", George asked.

"Oh, we met at the Cavern Club one time. It was the time when you played a gig there, remember?", she reminisced, and George remembered.

"Oh, yeah, I remember. You work there.", he responded.

"Well, how do you two know each other?", Kathy then asked.

"We met at a gig about a year ago. Our bands were contestants at the local band competition. Neither of our bands won.", Ringo replied, making both him and George chuckle.

"Bands? So, you're in a band too?", she asked the lad. Ringo nodded.

"Yeah, I play drums for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. But we're kinda on hiatus now.", he mused softly.

"Really? How come?", George asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Well, our lead singer's acting like a total douche, and you could say that we couldn't tolerate his attitude. So, yeah.", Ringo casualy replied while stirring his hot cup of chocolate.

It stayed silent for a while until George spoke up.

"Oh, I hope you don't mind me asking Kathy, but where's Paul?", he asked, making Kathy cringe upon hearing his name. The boys noticed this.

"What's the matter?", Ringo asked curiously. George awaited her reply. She glanced at the two lads and sighed.

"Um, we kind of got into an argument.", she said, bowing her head.

"And i don't think we'll be able to fix it anytime soon.", she added, a tear falling down from brown orb.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push.", George immediately apologized, rubbing her back softly.

"I'm sure you'd be okay. I think Paul's a nice lad.", Ringo stated. "Despite that one instance when we first met.", he added with a wink, and Kathy just chuckled.

"Yeah, he can get very emotional at times.", she replied, wiping the tear from her eye. "And sometimes, he doesn't realize that he hurts the people near to him."

Meanwhile...

Paul was currently seated at one of the tables in the Cavern Club, Kathy's place of work. He just watched the people roaming around, drinking alcohol and having fun.

"Hey, are you sure you don't want anything? You've been here for almost an hour and you still haven't ordered anything.", the waiter said as he approached Paul. The lad simply shook his head and muttered a soft 'I'm okay.'

The waiter nodded yet still seemed concerned for him. He left and Paul resumed gazing at different people.

"Paul? What are you doing here?", a familiar high-pitched voice greeted him. He turned around and his eyes landed on a young lady with red hair, plump cheeks and red lips, dressed in a white shirt, pink blazer with a matching pink skirt, and black heels. She had a glass of wine in her hand.

"Oh, hey, Jane.", he greeted her back, and offered her a seat next to him.

"Why are you all alone?", she asked, not removing her gaze from his.

"Just wanted to get rid of all the stress. You?", he asked her.

"Oh, same. Work has been bloody difficult. My manager has been pressuring me to get into shape for a new role. Ugh!", she replied, making Paul laugh a bit.

It stayed silent for a while, until Jane spoke up.

"Oh, by the way where's your fianceé?", she asked casually, and Paul froze upon hearing her name.

"Can we please not talk about her for now?", he requested, and Jane regretted what she had said.

"I'm sorry, Paul.", she apologized, and Paul nodded.

"Do you want me to get you anything? A glass of water or something-"

"No, I'm fine, Jane. Thanks.", he cut her off, smiling. Jane returned his smile, as well.

"I'm here if you need me, Paul. You can share.", she said, touching his hand and caressing it.

Paul looked at her hand on top of his. He felt a strange feeling at the pit of his stomach, as if it could sense that this was wrong. He slowly pulled his hand away.

"I, uh-"

"Macca! Surprised to see you here!", a familiar booming voice filled his ears. It was none other than John Winston Lennon.

"John?"

"Ey, see you got a lady friend here. She doesn't look like Kathy.", he said, looking at Jane. Jane felt uncomfortable and shifted in her seat.

"I better be going. Nice to see you Paul.", she said, grabbing her glass and standing up. Paul ran his hands through his hair. John replaced Jane in her seat.

"What the f**k, John? We were jist talking!", he raised his voice at his best mate.

"Oh, really? I didn't know talking involved hand holding.", he sassed back, crossing his arms. Paul just scoffed and rolled his eyes.

"She touched my hand. I was about to pull away-"

"Paul, you have a fianceé, for Pete's sake!", he said, waving his hands in the air.

"Can we not talk about her?", Paul replied softly.

"Why? You got into a fight-"

"It's none of your bloody business, Lennon!", he cut him off, leaning back harshly.

"It is my f**king business 'cause I'm your best friend! Stop pushing away the people close to you! We just want to help!", John stated.

The table was filled with tension and silence. Paul later buried his face in his hands.

"I don't know what to do anymore, John. My mother's in the hospital, my fianceé and I are not on good terms. Why do I always bloody mess up?", he muttered, pulling at his dark brown locks.

John rubbed the back of his best friend. At times like this, it was always John who acted as the older brother.

"You're hurting, Paul. And I understand. But you gotta learn to control your emotions because you unconsciously hurt the people around you, the people who love you.", John said.

"I hurt Kathy. Not physically, but verbally.", Paul admitted. "And I feel f**king stupid for doing so."

"Go apologize to her. Lower that pride of yours, Macca.", John advised.

"But she's mad, John. She won't want to talk to me.", he said softly.
"Paul, she loves you. She's probably waiting for you to come home and kiss her. But you better make the first move, since you are at fault here.", John instructed. Paul nodded at his words.

"Better hurry because if you don't, you're gonna lose that girl."
