(May's p.o.v)

This was the first time I overslept today. I rush downstairs and I see Grace sipping on her coffee. "Where is Serena?" I ask. 

"Oh she is just at Lumoise trying to be useful for once." She snickered. I roll my eyes at her. 

"Oh yeah, by the way, I got a hairdresser called Soledad to do all of our hairstyles. Don't force Serena to do too many things, she's only a human" I said. 

"hmm... Soledad would do it much better than Serena anyway" She considered. 

"MOM! LOOK AT MY DRESS!" Iris burst in. "ISN'T IT AMAZING?!

  It was a yellow skater dress but had a little ruffle attached to the waistline and was frilly at the top. It was actually decent.   

"ooooh it is!" Grace cried. "You have better tastes in fashion than Serena ever did!" 

I gagged at the cringiness my mother was displaying. 

"I KNOW RIGHT" She twirled. "Even Dawn has one by the way but she needs to get her jewelry unlike me where I can just use some of May's 'cus I can." 

"Excuse me, but I never gave you permission to touch my stuff. You'd better not." I warned. 

"ugh... sharing is caring May..." She sighed. 

"But I don't care" I said. "You're just too lazy to go to the store and get your own."

"Don't fight now!" Grace snapped. "Iris I will give you my jewelry okay?"

"Hymph. Fine" She sashayed to her room. 

I need a break. 

I wanted to visit Aquacorde town as I had heard from Misty that there was a nice view from the bridge of the sea. 

 "I'm going to get a breather outside" I tell Grace. 

"Don't be late for lunch!" Grace said. "Although I have to make it since Serena isn't here. What a pain..."

I really needed to get out of here. 

I walk outside and soon reach Aquacorde as its only 5 mins away. I see the bridge and surprisingly it was not busy at all. I walk towards it and he breeze caresses me calming me down. 

Misty was right. No wonder this place was an attraction spot. Seeing the blue sea reminded me of Serena, her eyes. She must have gone through so much... Have I been ignorant...? She was an orphan but i'm going to do my best even more to make her feel belonged. 

When I was little I had a hard time talking to anyone, I wasn't the brightest. I was reserved and always minded my own business. Meeting someone like Serena changed my perspectives about a lot of things, she was the only person that was never two-faced or fake to me. She respected my opinions and the way I was, whereas other would say i'm as cold as ice. 

I gotta do my best to keep her happy, even if she never got a proper family I have to be the best sister I possibly can...

I am lost in my realm of thoughts until a door closed and snapped my back to the real world. I turn behind and I see a person exiting the store. 

Drew. 

Oh damn. I completely forgot about him for a while. My feelings return and I feel my face getting hot. 

"Come on Roselia " He says as he begins to leave.  

I try and slowly exit without making him notice me but then a hand grips on to my waist, and a knife to my neck. 

Someone is behind me and restricted my movements. He grabs my breasts and I start to tear up and try and escape his grip. 

But it hurts. 

"HELP!" I scream and cry out. Drew turns around and his face is shocked to see more shady figures surrounding me. 

Who were these people?! all I see is an 'R' on their uniform and i don't know what they want. 

"LET HER GO!" Drew cries. "Roselia lets go!" I see his pet bite one of the members and Drew lands a kick on another member's stomach and he yowls in pain. 

"AHH" The member holding me growls and lets me go as he slashes at Drew and cuts his arm causing it to bleed. 

I gasp and tremble in fear my mind is racing and i'm unable to think. I pick up a rock and throw it on the member ,who was choking Drew, and he collapses, unconscious.

I'm out of breath and tears well up in my eyes. 

"A-Are you okay..?" I ask him. 

"Yeah... I'm fine i gue- Ow!" His arm is bleeding even more. I rip part of my scarf off and wrap it around his arm tightly to stop the bleeding. Roselia whimpered and it licked Drews face full of scratches. 

"Come on" I said in worry. "Lets go see if the store has any disinfectant" 

We both arrive at the store and the manager is shocked at our sight. "Goodness, what happened to you lot?!" He says with a worried look. 

"There were a bunch of gangsters of some sort that attacked us" I explained. "They had an 'R' on their shirt." 

"Okay got it. We will ask the town general to run investigations on this... Are you alright sir...? Ill get Nurse Joy to help you out." He said to Drew. 

"Thank you" He said. Roselia still whimpers and Drew pets it. "Its alright girl. I'm okay." He sighs. 

"Thank you for saving me" I say to him. "I didn't know you knew karate" 

He chuckles. Oh his smile was gorgeous. 

"Well, I don't know karate and you're welcome" he said. 

"I'm so sorry for my rudeness at your performance, it was amazing really but I needed money to buy myself a dress for the ball since I didn't have one..." I explained. 

"Nah it's fine, don't worry about it. That day I was really stressed because I wanted to make sure people actually like my performance..." He trailed off and looked away.

I grab his hand and tell him "NO! You are amazing together with Roselia, people LOVED your performance because you always looked so stunning as you moved!" I cried. 

I did not just say that out loud. 

He looks at me in wonder as his eyes widen. "Wow... thank you..." 

"Eheh... No problem... ahaha" I nervously laugh. God, i'm so cringe worthy. 

"You never told me your name by the way..." He smiled.

"Oh! My name is May." I said. 

"Nice to meet you May" Drew says as he looks into my eyes. I can't stop staring at him and I don't think he can either.  

"You.. you're really... pretty..." He says softly not avoiding contact with my eyes. 

I blush profusely and look away. He smiles again and was going to say something but our moment is interrupted by nurse Joy coming in. 

"Sorry to interrupt you love birds, but we need to get you both cleaned up." She laughs. 

We both turn as red as a tomato and look away in embarrassment from her statement. 

He doesn't deny it...

"Alright Drew, i'll take care of you first" She says. " I love your performances by the way! Can't want to see you perform at the ball!"

"Will my arm heal by then...?" He asks in worry. "It will heal in a jiffy, don't you worry! I'll make sure it does" She laughs as do I. 

When we are both sorted out we talk for what felt like forever and get to know each other more. We then, thank the store guy and exit. It was way past lunchtime, almost evening and the breeze comes in again and I look at Drew.

"Where are you going to go now?" I asked. "Do you not have a place to stay the night?"

"Um... we'll figure out something... don't worry" He looks at Roselia. 

"Why don't you stay at mine for the night?"  I asked. "We have spare beds too." 

"O-Oh you don't have to, its okay really..." He says in embarrassment as he scratches the back of his head. 

"No, it's a little sign of gratitude from me for saving me from those goons. come on... I insist" I pleaded. I didn't want more of those goons to find and tackle with him. 

"O-Okay... If you don't mind" He says. We both walk towards the route back to my house and the road is a bit slippery. 

My foot slips but I don't fall as Drew grabs my waist and holds me so i'm balanced again. I burst out of embarrassment like a kettle and he laughs. 

"T-thank you..." I try to say. 

"Haha, be careful" He lets go of me. 

Moments like these always had to happen in slow motion so it's something I can't forget. The feeling when he held me sent a thousand butterflies inside my stomach.

We reach home and Grace is in shock. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MAY!? WE WERE WORRIED SICK!" 

"Mom, i'm sorry im late stop shouting, im fine" I sigh. Drew stood there awkwardly behind me and avoided any eye contact. 

Grace look at him and gushes. "Oooh, you must be Drew! Hi there! Come in, come in!"

"Mom, could he stay over the night?" I asked. 

"But of course!" Grace says. Of course. Grace will always do anything for any man that is good - looking. 

"OMG ITS DREW!!" Dawn squealed. "IM SUCH A BIG FAN OF YOU!" 

"T-Thank you..." Drew is taken back from her immediate presence. 

"You better get used to this..." I whispered in his ears and he chuckles. 

Iris and Misty both walk and also squeal as they see Drew. They were starting to piss me off. He's my man, you guys better back off. I'm not being selfish am I...? He is a performer...

"Hey Drew" Misty said. "I like you but I like Rosella way more" she bent over to pet her and it flinches as she does so. 

"I like you but I like Prince Ash way more" Iris states. "But you aren't too bad either..."

We both cringe at her statement and I've had enough of this. 

"Guys, can you please leave him alone?" I groaned. "He's had a long day and he needs rest" 

"You sound like his mom" Misty sneered. 

"Shut up!" I blush and look away. "He got hurt too... i'm just really worried..."

"What happened?" Grace asked.

"Well, I would advise you guys not to roam around the area as freely, there are some thugs that we had to deal with and Drew got hurt." 

"OMG" They all gasped. 

"I have the ball in 2 days, I can't get hurt now!" Iris says in a panic. 

"Idiot." I growl at her. "You don't care that Drew got hurt? You are such a bitch" 

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME -" Iris began but Grace stopped her. 

"May, take Drew to the guest room and help him out. The rest of you girls go to your rooms. Now." She ordered. 

All of them skittered back to their rooms and I take Drew's other arm and wrap it around my shoulder and take him to the guest room. 

"Here you are" I handed him a glass of water. 

"Thank you so much May. You are such an amazing girl" He smiled. 

I blush. 

"It was nothing" I say. "I'm just glad you're okay... If you need anything then just ring the bell and i'll be there."

"But all I need is you." He says. 

My eyes widen and my blush returns again. God, why does this boy always play with my heart strings like that?

He patted the seat next to him on the bed gesturing me to come sit. 

And I do so. 

He wrapped his arms around me, and god knows why but I start crying. I guess the fear I had contained in myself released it self in the form of tears. 

"Shh... I'm alright May... Don't worry..." He sighs as he strokes my hair. 

"They looked so scary... I thought that man was going to kill you...And the man groped my chest so tightly it hurt s-so much..." I hug him even more. 

"I promise, I won't let anyone hurt you May.' He says as he leans on my shoulder. We pull apart. 

"MAY!" Grace called. 

"O-oh" I was snapped back to reality again and I realize it was my turn to make dinner. 

"ALRIGHT I'M COMING!" I yelled.

"Uhm Drew...? You can just rest here with Roselia and we will call you for dinner okay?" I asked. 

"Yeah that's cool." He said. 

"O-okay, see you later then..." I said as I got up. 

"Yup." he smiled and kissed my cheek. I am frozen at his gesture and he laughs at my reaction. 

"MAY! GET DOWN HERE WILL YA! I NEED HELP" Dawn yelled and unfreezes me. 

"I-IM COMING I SAID!" I yelled still shook. "Then.. see you" I look at Drew and he gives me a wink.  I smile back and close the door as I leave. 

I loved every bit of time I spent with him inside there. I hold my cheek where he had kisses me and smile.

"Ugh, when will Serena come home anyway...?" Dawn moaned. "It's not fair i'm giving up my precious time to make you guys dinner" 

"That's if you know how anyway." I rolled by eyes. 

"Serena will be coming a little late" Grace said. "With the money"

"I hope she comes back safe..." I say to myself. 

If these goons are out there, Serena could definitely be their next target.
