May's P.O.V

I woke myself up as the bell of the clock tower rang; today I was going to pick my gown to wear for the ball which was 3 days away. I had to get myself a mask too. Huh.

I wash my face and I see that Serena has already made breakfast and was snoozing on the couch. So cute.
I warmed up the pancakes and spread my mayple syrup and started stuffing myself with the goodness.

I then hear yawns behind me and i see Dawn and Iris. Iris fills a glass of water and there was me thinking she was going ti drink it but instead splashes the water over Serena.

She wakes up with a shriek as she jumps, and stands dumfounded, dreched in water.
"HEY!" I yelled. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!" I see Dawn making a shh face and iris says "I was trying to think of a way of waking her up without being too loud" she snickered loudly.

"That still doesn't mean-"
"WHATS ALL THIS RUCKUS ABOUT!" We hear Grace's voice echoing throughout the house. She storms in and has an irritated look on her face. "MOM, SERENA DIDN'T MAKE US BREAKFAST AND SHE WAS SLEEPING SO SOUNDLY ON THE COUCH" Dawn shrieked. "YEAH, ITS NOT OUR FAULT" Iris joins in too.

"Actually she has made pancakes for you two as well. Look" I pointed towards the container that contained the pancakes.
"I like mine with chocolate syrup. Where is it?" Grace stearnly asks Serena.
"It.. it finished" She replied shivering.

I was just so angry. But I will have to hold it in. My plan is to just get out of here and take Serena with me. We can live happily ever after with the men of our dreams. But, I have to wait. For the right moment.

 "I'm so sorry..." Serena weeped. I couldn't bear to see her like this.

"and for that you could be doing more of my laundry... I really do need cleaner clothes to wear..." She sniffed herself and gagged. "MOM! THE OTHER THING TOO!" Dawn wailed.
"Yes! And you will be designing all your wonderful sisters' masks and jewelry too! And for me as well of course! You are a sweetheart, aren't you?" She snickered.
"and I expect they are up to everyone expectations or else... you know it! More chores to do~ "

A tear rolled down Serena's cheek as she shivered. Grace didn't 'punish' Serena for not having chocolate syrup at all, she did it for the pleasure of it; making a young, beautiful girl work like a slave because she herself isn't pretty enough. Sometimes, it even got to the point where I was ashamed that I was even related to her. "Okay..." She wept. That's when I lost it.

'THAT'S IT MOM! I'M GOING OUT TO BUY STUFF ANYWAY AND ILL GET YOU YOUR STUPID CHOCOLATE SYRUP AND MASKS IF THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED" I blurted out. Everyone looked bewildered. Misty came outside wondering what was going on. Grace gives me an evil look and says "We'll talk later...", and walks away to her room. I really just wanted to get some fresh air now.

Serena is in her room wrapped in a blanket; I reach up to her and gave her new clothes to wear. There was this look of kindness and thankfulness in her eyes that made me feel like I wasn't good enough of a sister at all. "I'm going out; you want me to get you something?" I asked out of guilt.

"Where are you heading?" She asked.

"I wanted to check out Coumarine city – I heard they opened up a new boutique with really cute gowns" I said.

"Nah, I don't need anything" She said smiling. "Thank you so much for asking though"

"Okay, I'll be back by 4 or 5 at the latest. Bye!" I said as I grabbed my coat.

I felt a little concerned leaving her alone with Grace and the others... "You'll be fine, right? With mum? You want to come with me?" I asked.

"No... I can't I have to make the others' gowns and design their masks too... You go on, I'll be fine! Plus, I prefer doing this than chores more" She laughs.

"Okay... I'll make sure to pick out a mask that goes well with this!" I grinned as I pointed to the ring box that contained the blue ring. She laughs along, and I do as well as I exit the door.

Coumarine city was mainly knows for its transport via ships or carriages – it was the best place for you to go anywhere you want in the most efficient way. Naturally, the shops were bustling with people (mainly girls) and the boutique was very, VERY crowded. Wow. Just how many girls were into Prince Ash?

I make my way past the crowds and I see a guy wearing a Spanish looking costume. He was dancing along with his pet dog that jumped through old wheels that he held. A crowd watched in awe how swift and stable both of them were with their movements. I watched in awe too as I was a dog lover as well. (Author is too XD <3)

As the performance ended we all clapped as red roses fell from above us. I never really focused on the performer himself but as he takes of his hat, I notice he has green hair and green eyes. WOW. He looked like someone completely out of the ordinary and unique... my type.

This guy was gorgeous.

He uses the hat he takes off so that people can put money inside it. Everyone cheers as he does so. I quickly try to take out as much money as I can - and when he reaches up to me I throw in a 50. I'm such an idiot. Why did I do that. Everyone else is throwing coins or a few pounds and I give him a 50. He looks at me like I'm mad and I can't blame him. I give him this goofy smile and god knows how retarded I looked. "Thank you...mam" He says. "Haha... You are.. uh.. really amazing...- and your dog too..." I laugh nervously. He looks at me and notices me trying not to look at the 50 pounds I just threw in. Damn.

"Yeah, my performance was really not worth paying 50 pounds for or even any money huh..." he said as he looked away. No... no no no no... "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt your feelings... I dropped it by accident...' I trailed off. I felt like such a bully. "It's fine. Take it back' He said coldly. I took it slowly and placed a 10 instead. Umm sorry! I had a gown to buy and I can't waste half the money I bought for some guy's performance. He bowed and gave me a nasty look. So he already hates me. 

Sheesh.

He gets on stage again and everyone claps. Hello everyone! Thank you so much for watching me and Roselia's performance!" He says. Everyone cheers as his dog – Roselia woofs and jumps around. "aaand... guess what?" He grins. Everyone yells "WHAT!!?"

"Prince Ash has invited me and Roselia to perform at the ball!" He says with a tone of joy in his voice. That's when everyone loses it and starts squealing. "If you want to know more about us, please pick up our flyers at the desk over there" He points to a large pack of flyers on the table and a guy behind it passing it along.

"Thank you for watching! Hope to see you all at the ball!" He waves as him and Roselia exit. Everyone else then gets back to what they were doing.

"Want one?" A long salmon-coloured haired girl with blue eyes came up to me and asked, handing me a flyer. "Sure." I say as I take it.

I look at him and his dog on the poster and a background surrounded by red roses. I then notice his name.

Drew.

Drew... huh... I kept saying his name to myself and the girl brings me back to the present. "Yeah... He is attractive, right? And SO stylish!" She squeals. "But I am more into older men... he a lil' too young for me" She says.

"Thank you." I say.

"What's your name?" She asks. "I feel like I've seen you before..."

She says. I have never seen her before... at least I don't remember... "My name is May... May Yvonne. What's yours?" I asked in wonder.

"Oh! The Yvonne's! I knew it! My name is Soledad."

"Soledad..." I remembered!

I think you remember me now...?" She replies.

"Oh yeah! You were the hairdresser for my mom once, right?"

"Yup! And I'd be happy to do yours and your sisters too!" She smiles. "Thank you! I'd love that!" I said with a smile and we shake hands.

"Oh and by the way, Drew's favorite colour is blue I heard..." She grins at me. I blush.

"S-So?" I kinda yelled. "I would start by looking at that store" She says as she points to a tiny store in the corner where only one or two people were cuing. "T-thank you?" I said as I tried to hide my blush.

"You go girl!" She laughs as she leaves and fades away into the crowds.

What was that supposed to mean... I thought to myself as I head down to that store Soledad told me to go to. There was a old man and his eyes widened as he saw me. He comes near me, examines me and does some weird gestures with his arms. I thought he was some kind of pervert and then he screams "YOU ARE THE ONE M'LADY!"

What.

I was confused. "I'm – uh going to take my leave..." I said but he wasn't having it. "Wait! Please! I insist! I promise I don't want to hurt you, kind lady..." He said. He had innocent eyes. "O-okay..." I said as I came in.

"Please follow me." He said. He took something out of a cupboard, which looked like a key and moved a section of clothes to the side. There was a door. He opens it with the key and I am taken back from what was inside.

It was a frilly blue gown with blue gems studded to every flap – which were different shades of blue and finally had a choker to match the gown.

It was beautiful.

"It's gorgeous..." I breathed. The man smiled at me. "I told you I wouldn't hurt you"

"How much is it?" I asked in anticipation. I really wanted that dress. NOT because it was Drew's favorite colour (obviously) but it matched the ring that Serena had given me.

"For you it's free milady" He smiles.

"No... I couldn't... I was so rude to you sir..." I said with guilt. "Please tell me..."

"I can't. This was made only for someone like you trying to find true love. Go. Wear it to the ball and the man who will see this will fall in love with your charms at first sight." He winks.

"Thank you..." I was flustered by his words. I guess no-one had never really said that to me before. "I have somewhere to go... and remember to always smile when you are wearing this." He said as he left.

I clutched the cover which had my gown to my heart. 'The man that sees this and falls in love at first site is the one for me?' I ask to myself. People start giving me strange looks as they see me giggling to myself. I look at the time at the clock tower. 4:30! Serena must be waiting for me! I run up to the carriage and I take off taking one last peek at the store I was in.

Who was that old man?

I reach home and I am surprised to see that Dawn was outside watering the plants and I was guessing the others were in their rooms. In other words, the house was quiet. Which was quite rare. I go upstairs to Serena's room and I find her sleeping over her desk. And then I see masks.

They were beautiful. There were 5 masks: one was a pale green with white feathers, one a golden yellow with brown feathers, one was a darker green with yellow feathers and the last one was a dark black with white feathers and the last one was blue with red feathers. She was so talented at making these... wow.

She wakes up and jumps as she sees me. "Wow! You're here! So..? You choose your dress?" She asked fully awake. I laugh at her awkwardness and say "Yes... you want to see it?" I ask. 'YES!" She squeals. I take it out and she gasps in awe. "It's GORGEOUS!" She gushes. She then looks over at the masks and picks out the blue one with the red feathers. "This would be PERFECT for this one then" She smiles. "And this too" I say as I take the ring she had given me. Blue. I was happy with what I was wearing. I then stand up and give her a big warm hug and she hugs back too.

"I'm so happy for you May..." She looks into my eyes. "Everyone's eyes will be on you" She smiles. That wouldn't have creeped me out unless the old man at the store hadn't said what he said about the man that would look at me. "What about you Serena? What plan have you devised" I grinned.

"Umm... The dress is a lil' secret but I will show you my mask" she says as she sticks out her tongue. I look at her mask. AMAZING. It looked so fancy and it totally suited her skin completion. "Serena, for the hair, I met someone that could do it for everyone. That way you don't have to get bugged by Grace asking you to do it" I said as I remembered Soledad. "Really? Thank you!!" She smiles.

"How are you going to come to the ball?" I asked "Like you can't walk to Lumiose city" I said. "I still haven't figured that out yet, but I do know how will turn up" She grins at me. DANG. Serena grinning was a rare sight. I laughed at her cheekiness and she does too until she notices something else in the cover bag.

"What's this?" She asks as she takes out the flyer I had kept. "UMM" I get flustered and quickly snatched it from her hands. "Drew... Who's that?" She asks. "Just some -uh- performer... at the ball" I said trying to hide my blush.

"MAY... HAVE YOU GOT A CRUSH ON DREW??" She asks with another grin, nudging my arm.

"NO!!!" I reply as my face explodes with embarrassment. 

She is so going down. And I can't wait to tease the hell out of her when she is with Prince Ash. 

...If she can make it to the ball... because if she can't go...

I wont either.
