Cinderella chapter 2

Serena p.o.v
I woke up to the church bells in vanville and I looked at the clock. It was 5:30. Thirty minutes before I start making breakfast. I'm surprised I woke up this early, I mean yesterday my body felt like it didn't want to be a part of me anymore. Anyway.

I opened the window and stretched, letting in the morning sunrise. It felt beautiful. It was like the rays of sunlight healed my pain and motivate me to do the same thing I do everyday; work.

I went outside to check the cows, and the sheep. They were all munching on some grass and looking at them eat, also made me hungry. I made myself some hot tea with biscuits (since no-one was awake , they would never see me), and went outside to sit on the grass.

My whole body turned into ice when I saw May outside the balcony awake. I freaked out but she gave me a sly smile and a thumbs up and walked away. Phew. She was in a REALLY good mood if she'd done that.

When I was making my way back to the mansion I saw this FANCCYY looking carriage and the footman knocked on our door. I ran to him and asked him what he needed.

(I think u guys know what he wants😆)

"I would like to invite the Yvones to the masquerade ball in Lumiose, and it is requested that every maiden attends." He said.

"Why should EVERY girl attend?"

"Because prince Ash is looking for a bride" he replied.

I was beyond shocked. Prince ASH!?!? My face flustered so much that it was noticeable from a million miles away.

Flashback:

My dad had said:

"Serena my dear, answer my question. Is there a boy you like?"

"Daddy! Stop teasing me!"

"I'm serious! Look... I won't be around for too long..."

"Dad... don't say such things..."

"Please my dear... You'll have to have another man with you to support you till the end. Your mother and I had always dreamed of you to get the perfect man.... Please choose the right one...it's my...last wish..."

"Daddy! Okay! I will! Only if you give me a hug!"

I knew my chances with someone like him were near impossible. But, i've always wanted to go to a ball with real friends. I always saw when I was little, girls wore such beautiful gowns and masks, I had made  a mini bucket list  that I will also go the ball, with a 

beautiful dress,

 friends

and maybe even a date. 

And all of us would drool over Prince Ash because of how dazzling he really is. 

I mean come on.

He's a PRINCE.

.....*daydreams*....

"Are you alright ? I think you should definitely attend kind lady" he replied with a smile as he handed me a royal invitation.

I took it with trembling hands, and my heart sank, completely forgetting that Grace would never let me go to the ball in a thousand years.

"What's happening?" Misty and everyone else came at the entrance yawning.

"I will take my leave now" the footman said as he entered the carriage. "Farewell!"

I waved at the carriage and then closed the door.

Even Grace had woken up and came downstairs in her robes. "What's all this commotion happening?"

"Umm... These are.. Uhh..invitations.."

"OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!" Dawn yelled. "THESE ARE INVITATION S TO THE MASQUERADE BALL IN LUMIOSE!" Iris yelled even louder.
And then the three all yelled together: "PRIMCE AAAAAASSSHH! And then started drooling. Hey, I couldn't really blame them for that.

So Grace really 'woke' up after their realization but surprisingly she was actually happy. "Well, what'd do you know... My girls have matured enough..."

"Mom, I'm PERFECT for Ash right?" Dawn giggled. "No! I obviously am! You're all just kids!" I'm pretty sure you guys know who said that one. "NO! MEE! YOUR ALL DUMB HOES!" Misty yelped.

"Girls! Girls! Calm down!" Grace said. "If you want to impress Prince Ash, you'll all have to dress up your best right?"

Their face were like, oh yeahhhhhh...

"Serena, prepare their dresses. This time, make it look the best for once." Grace said.

"Okay.." I said. I couldn't really tell her that I wanted to go, but hey, I'll give it a shot. "Umm..can I...also...uhhh...come with you?!" I blurted out.

They ALL looked at me like I was joking. "Ew." Misty said. Dawn said "you belong in the kitchen, I belong in Ash's heart..." Iris said " sorry, no kids allowed, it might get a bit too inappropriate with me and Ash doing stuff, kids like you shouldn't see"

"Hey May, you haven't said ANYTHING" Dawn said. "I don't care." She said and walked away.

"Serena, I'm sorry but I can't let you go." Grace said with 'sorrow'.

"Wh-why not?" I kinda yelled. "The invitation says that ALL maidens should attend."

"Yes, it says MAIDENS. Not peasants like YOU !" Grace snickered.

That really struck me. I burst into tears right there, on the spot. "OOOOOO" iris said. "BURRRRNED" Dawn said.
"I'm hungry, make breakfast for me. PEASANT" Misty snickered as well.

"Okay..." I weeped.

~time skip~

I was on my bed that night and started crying on my pillow. It's not fair. it's JUST NOT FAIR. I had every right to go. Why am I the unlucky one? Thinking about it made me want to cry even harder but I didn't. I needed to keep on holding on.

I'll not give up though. I WILL see Prince Ash. At least.

I have a plan. It's just right. I WILL go to that ball, because it IS a masquerade party, right? So they don't have to see your face...

I have always waited for something like this to happen. My dad had gifted me a beautiful dress as my birthday present..it was his final present to me.

He said that my mother wore this the first time her and dad met, and that I should wear this when the time is right.

This is definetly the right time to wear it.

May's p.o.v

I was actually looking forward to going to the ball. I want to see what other guys are out there in lumiose. NOT Prince Ash, he's not really my type. He'd be perfect for Serena though.

Speaking of serena, I felt really bad for her... I don't like the way mom treats her at all.. I mean if I was in her place I don't think I would have hung on. It's really amazing how she's still holding on.

I went to her room just to check on her, I don't really do this but this was different. Serena was wrapped up in her duvet and I kinda knocked on the door.

Surprised, she looked up and saw me. "Hey" I said.

"Uh...May...it's you..." She said wiping her eyes. She'd obviously been crying. "I got you hot chocolate" I said. She looked at me like I was crazy or if I was just teasing her. This actually made me feel really bad; i mean she hasn't gotten use to people giving HER food or drinks, she was always the one to do that.

"Don't give me that. Here" i said as I closed the door behind me. "Are you... Okay..?" I asked.

"Y-yes! I'm just fine! Uhh..umm... What's the -uh- time? She stammered. "It's 8:30" I said looking at the clock tower from the window.

"Oh no! Already?! I have to make dinner!" She said and she got this really worried look in her eyes.

I couldn't believe this. I felt something drip down my face. I was crying apparently. Serena asked with shock " May! What's wrong?"

I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her. "How..? How are you so...strong?" Don't you want to escape out of this hell?" I asked her weeping. " seeing you work like a slave everyday makes me feel so bad about myself! "

My shoulders felt kind of wet, and that's where her head was. " I have to do what I'm told May... My dad had said I must always do as Grace tells me to do.."

"It's-it's not fair!" I cried. " you at least have to come to the party!" Serena smiled as she wiped her tears and kissed my forehead and said " who knows, maybe Grace may change her mind about everything..?" That didn't convince me at all.

"ughh... We just have to wait I guess.."she said.

I've never felt so hopless and sad in my life.

"May, it's fine. Don't worry! I'll always be happy because at least I have a sister like you by my side!" She blushed and smiled at me.

I really love serena so much. I never showed her my emotion in front of Grace because it might cause a HUGE conflict between me and mom.

I know exactly why Grace isn't letting Serena go. She wants HER girls to be with Ash and thinks someone as beautiful as Serena shouldn't even be in front of him. 

Since he will fall for her in an instant

I won't bother telling Serena this, because she'll obviously deny me.

" okay... Well... See you at dinner..." I said wiping my tears with my sleeve.

" okay!" She said getting up and walking away.

Serena's p.o.v

I....never thought ....May... was such an amazing sister... She actually cared for me...

I was so happy when she said those words...it was like she kept assuring me not to fall behind...

I won't. I WILL go to that ball...and I've just about figured out how.
