Chapter 27
The night passed in solemn reflection, and by the first light of dawn, the three of them—Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin—found themselves standing outside Namjoon’s room. Their breaths were shallow, and their hands trembled, but the weight of their resolve pushed them forward. Knocking hesitantly, they waited for Namjoon’s response.
“Come in,” his voice came, steady but tired.
They entered to find Namjoon seated at his desk, surrounded by papers and notes. He looked up, surprise flashing in his eyes as he took in their somber expressions. "What’s going on?" he asked, setting his pen down.
Taehyung stepped forward, his voice cracking slightly as he spoke. "Hyung, we’ve... we’ve been cowards. We’ve been so lost in our own pain that we forgot what you’ve always taught us—to stand up no matter how hard we fall. We hurt the people we loved. We hurt you. But we’re done running. We want to fix this, hyung. We need to fix this."
Jungkook took a deep breath, clutching the bracelet in his hand. "We’ve made mistakes that we can’t take back, but we can try to be better. For you, for Suga-hyung, Jin-hyung, Hobi-hyung—for everyone who believed in us. I can’t promise it’ll be easy, but I promise I’ll give everything I have. Please, hyung, give us one more chance."
Jimin’s voice was barely above a whisper, his eyes brimming with tears. "I don’t deserve forgiveness, hyung. Not from you, not from anyone. But I want to try. I want to be the person you can rely on...again. Just… just don’t give up on us."
Namjoon’s eyes softened, his own emotions breaking through his usually calm demeanor. He stood, walking over to the three of them. Without a word, he pulled them into a tight embrace, holding them as if trying to shield them from their own pain. "I never gave up on you," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "And I never will. We’ll get through this. Together."
The next day, the seven of them walked into the CEO’s office with their heads held high, their resolve unshaken despite the turmoil of the pasts. Namjoon stepped forward, his voice calm but filled with determination.
"Sir, we’ve come to present a plan," he began. "Give us three months. We’ll prove our worth, recover what we’ve lost, and rebuild everything. All we’re asking for is a chance."
The CEO looked up from his desk, a slow, condescending smile spreading across his face. He leaned back in his chair, eyeing them with a mixture of amusement and disdain.
"A chance?" he said, his tone dripping with mockery. "You want a chance now? That’s rich, coming from the group that promised me the moon and stars when I signed you. ‘We’ll make you proud,’ you said. ‘We’ll be legends,’ you said. And what did you deliver? Scandals. Embarrassment. Losses I had to clean up. So tell me, Namjoon, why should I believe anything you say now?"
Namjoon clenched his fists but remained composed. "Because we’re willing to put everything on the line. We know we’ve made mistakes, but—"
The CEO cut him off with a sharp laugh. "Mistakes? Is that what you call it? Let’s not sugarcoat things. Your little mistakes cost this company millions. And you want me to hand you more time, more resources, more trust? No. Absolutely not."
Yoongi stepped forward, his voice firm but respectful. "Sir, we understand the damage that’s been done, but punishing the entire group for—"
"Punishing?" the CEO interrupted, his voice rising. "Don’t talk to me about punishment, Min Yoongi. Do you think I enjoyed watching my company’s reputation, my investment, go up in flames? Do you think I enjoyed covering up for all your members messes? You should be grateful I didn’t terminate all your contracts months ago!"
Jin raised his voice, his frustration evident. "You’re not being fair. You knew the risks when you signed us. We’ve worked harder than anyone—"
The CEO slammed his hand on the desk, silencing him. "Fair? Fair? Let me tell you what’s fair. I’ve sold your contracts to another company to cut my losses. That’s fair. You’ve given me nothing but promises you couldn’t keep, so now you can take a taste of your own medicine."
Hoseok stepped in, his voice trembling with a mixture of anger and desperation. "You always told us we were a family, that you believed in us! How can you throw us away like this?"
The CEO sneered, leaning forward. "A family? Don’t make me laugh. Families don’t destroy everything they touch. Families don’t drag each other’s names through the mud. No, you’re not my family. You’re a liability. And liabilities get cut loose."
Namjoon’s voice was steady but laced with anger. "You promised us a chance to fix this. You said—"
"And you promised me results," the CEO snapped. "Did I sign a contract guaranteeing you anything? No. So don’t stand there acting like I owe you anything. Because I don’t."
The room fell silent, the weight of his words crushing the hope they had clung to.
Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin stood frozen, guilt written all over their faces. Jungkook finally spoke, his voice barely audible. "We’re sorry… for everything. But please, don’t punish them for what we did."
The CEO laughed cruelly, shaking his head. "Oh, now you’re sorry? Now you care? Too late. You want to be martyrs? Fine. But don’t expect me to play along with your redemption arc. You’ve embarrassed me, and now you’re on your own. Security!"
The door opened, and two guards entered, grabbing the group by their arms.
"Escort them out," the CEO ordered, his voice cold. "And make sure they don’t step foot in this building again. I’m done wasting my time on failures."
As they were shoved out of the office, the CEO’s mocking voice followed them. "You wanted to be legends? Well, now you’ll be remembered as the group that destroyed themselves. Congratulations."
Outside the building, the group stood in stunned silence. Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung turned to their hyungs, their eyes filled with tears.
"We’re sorry," Taehyung said, his voice breaking. "This is all our fault. If we hadn’t—" Jin cut him off, his voice sharp but not unkind. "Stop it. This isn’t just on you."
Jungkook shook his head, tears streaming down his face. "No, hyung. You didn’t deserve this. None of you did. We ruined everything—your careers, your dreams. We’re so sorry."
Jimin fell to his knees, his sobs wracking his body. "I don’t know how to make this right. I don’t think we can."
Namjoon knelt beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We’re a team," he said softly. "We rise together, and we fall together. This isn’t the end. We’ll figure it out."
Yoongi’s voice was firm, filled with quiet strength. "They think they’ve broken us. They haven’t. We’ve been through worse, and we’ve always come out stronger."
Hoseok nodded, his usual brightness dimmed but not extinguished. "We’re still BTS. And no CEO, no scandal, no humiliation can take that away from us."
Jin helped Jimin to his feet, his grip steady. "We’re not done. Not by a long shot. They’ll regret underestimating us. Just watch."
And though their hearts were heavy and their path uncertain, the seven of them stood together, united in their pain and determination. They would rise again—stronger, unbreakable, unstoppable.
