Side Story Part 5

Stacy's POV

We finally got to the Shoshone tribe, and I hopped off, seeing the puppy from last time. I bent down, petting her, and Lizzie, one of the tribe's teenagers, came to greet us.

"Hi Stacy! Hi Parker! How are you?"

"We are actually pretty ok, how 'bout you?" Asked Parker.

"I'm fine. Say, can you help me? I need to get some ingredients for my soup!" She gave us a list of ingredients from their farm, and we left.

--------------

"What's taking her so long?" I moaned, sitting next to Parker. Lizzie was taking forever with her soup.

"I don't really know..." Said Parker. Then, I got up and walked around because my feet were falling asleep. Then, finally, Lizzie came out.

"Hi guys! Sorry I took so long. But... Here's the soup!" She said, handing us bowls filled to the brim with the broth. I thanked her and brought it to my mouth, sipping the delicious soups. I smiled when I saw Prker drink it all up in one big chug. He had been complaining about how hungry he was, so I don't really blame him.

"Would you like to spend the night? We have a blanket or two if you do..." Said Lizzie. I looked out the door. It was pitch black. So I turned and sighed.

"Yeah, ok. We'll spend the night." I said. She smiled and lead us to a room in her teepee. Two deer skin mats lay on the floor opposite to each other. She then handed us each a small buffalo fur skin blanket, and we fell asleep.

--------------------

I was sitting outside of the teepee, staring at the stars. I was thinking about what the leader of the Mgnaniel gang could be planning for us, while listening to Parker say random things in his sleep that made me laugh.

"No, don't touch the cookies..."

"Mom, I'm tired... Five more minutes..."

"Stacy.... Why are you staring at the sky?"

The last one caught me by surprise. I looked behind me to see Parker sitting up, looking at me. I smiled.

"Nothing. Oh, look! The sunrise!" I said, turning around to see the sun peaking over the mesa. I opened my mouth in surprise because it was so beautiful. I felt someone sit next to me. I looked over at Parker and saw a smirk on his face.

"Why is it that you always find the goodness in everything?" He asked. I blinked.

"What kind of a question is that!?" I asked. He chuckled and we got up, getting ready to find the first key. In the journal, it said that to obtain the key, we needed to complete their horse ritual, a horse race, to be exact. So I grabbed my horse, Jasper, and Parker grabbed his that he found in th

"I won! You lost! I won and you lost!" I cried, dancing around Parker. He narrowed his eyes.

"Yeah, well.... I got nothing..." He said, smiling at my happiness.

"Now, give me the milk!" I said. We had placed a bet, and since I won, he had to give me his bucket of milk.

"About that, Stacy... I don't have milk." I frowned and punched his arm.

"Whatever." I groaned, walking to the stables. The sky had become gray, and rain was pouring down upon us. Thunder was heard. I walked and looked up at the sky, seeing a lightning bolt start to zoom down onto Parker.

All of a sudden, I had this weird feeling that made me do what happened next. I yelled

"Parker, LOOK OUT!" And ran into him, tackling him to the ground. The lightning struck onto the ground a foot away from us, and I saw Parker below me. He smirked.

"Well thank you Stace. I appreciate it." He said. I smiled.

"Yeah, well...I didn't want to be in your debt is all..." I said, getting up. The merchant gave us the key, and let us stay I the stables for the night. I sat down against the wall, Parker next to me, and I watched as he dozed off. I smiled, and started to think.

What were these feelings towards Parker?

I don't like him... Do I? No, Stace. You don't.

But what if I do? No, Stace... you don't.

But what if I- No, Stace! YOU DONT LIKE PARKER!!!

At that moment, I heard something behind me. I turned and saw someone who looked somewhat like the Mgnaniel gang's leader years ago smiling at me, with two people standing next to him. I opened my mouth to yell, but before I could, everything went black.

A/N yes, Sam.... I DID JUST DO THAT! I DID leave you at a horrible cliffhanger! And you DO have to wait until Stacy posts the next episode of Mesa Valley to find out what happened! Muahahan
