Laurence (In Between Episodes)

A/N I loved writing the small Melanie and Laurence meet in the last episode. Anyways, time for more stories!

Melanie's POV

~-VISION-~

I saw a replica of myself... In the Nether fighting Shadow Knights, making my way towards a huge Nether brick building. Then, I got inside, and saw Laurence stuck inside a cage.

"Laurence, you're free!" I heard myself say as I opened the door letting Laurence out. He came out smirking. I grabbed his arm so I could pull him to the portal. But something else happened.

My arm slipped to his hand, and Laurence seized the opportunity to pull me close to him, placing his lips on mine.

~-VISION OVER-~

"Hey Melanie, are you ok!?" Asked someone familiar. I opened my eyes and saw a familiar red head, then I groaned.

"Did I black out again?" I asked, standing up. Laurence nodded with a raised eyebrow.

"Is that normal or something?" He asked. I opened my mouth to respond, but my lightheadedness took over and made me start to fall backwards.

"Woah there!" Laurence cried, running behind me and catching me. I blushed slightly, then shook the blush out of my face.

"Thanks... I really do have to go though. My brother is expecting me." I said, deciding I would introduce Garroth as my brother from then on to avoid confusion.

"All right. See you soon." He said. I nodded, leaving to Garroth.

------------------------

It had been two days since I met Laurence, and something happened with our new villager, Sasha. She had run away as soon as she saw Laurence, and I'm not sure of the entire story, but all I know is it involves Aphmau and Laurence going out to find a shaman to open Sasha's diary. In two weeks, Aphmau will be on her way.

I stood at my post, and Garroth walked up to me. Our helms were restored, and we could wear them now.

"Melanie, you've got a new duty as second head guard in command of Phoenix Drop." I nodded, listening.

"As you know, Lady Aphmau is on her way to find a shaman in two weeks. Right now, she would like to be alone and spend time with her son, Levin." He explained.

"I have some buisness to attend to, such as having medicine from Brightport shipped here, and my regular duties as head guard of Phoenix Drop. So... You're in charge of Laurence, and showing him around." He sighed. Even though my helm was on, I know he could see my jaw drop.

"I'm sorry!" He cried. I frowned.

"Can't I do the medicine? Anything but Laurence, please?" I asked. Garroth crossed his arms.

"Something serious must be going on for you not to want to befriend someone new. What is it?" He asked. I sighed. He knew me too well for him not to figure it out.

I quickly explained my dream, and after I finished, Garroth simply sighed.

"These dreams of yours have been coming true... But just use common sense. If you don't want to kiss Laurence, well now you know what to avoid." Said Garroth. I nodded, making my way to Laurence.

-----------------------

"So, that was the tour." I told Laurence, concluding our tour. He nodded.

"This is a cool village. So, wanna hang out?" He asked. I froze.

"I have duties-" I started.

"Yeah, so did I. Your post ends at six. It's five thirty." Laurence interjected.

Wow, he knows his stuff... I thought.

"And I'm sure Garroth can man down the village on his own, right?" He asked. I opened my mouth to respond, but instead, it just hung open.

"I'll see you at the plaza at six thirty. You should wear your armor!" Laurence called after me as he walked away.

He's a pretty straight forward guy, isn't he? I wondered, walking to Garroth so I could ask for time off.

---------------------

In reality, I was hoping Garroth wouldn't let me go on that outing with Laurence. But sadly, he did. So here I was, in my armor, holding my sword as I waited for Laurence at the plaza. He got there at exactly six thirty.

"Great, you came! All right, ready for some dueling?" He asked. I noticed he was in his own guard armor. I raised an eyebrow.

"Dueling?" I asked. Laurence smirked, nodding.

"Yeah, dueling... Why?" He asked. I shook my head.

"Nothing. Let's get started." I said. Laurence grinned.

"You wanna go first?" I asked. He tilted his head.

"Nope. Ladies first." He said. I smirked. Now he was gonna get it.

"Don't you ever say that to me again." I said, swinging my sword for attack.

----------------

"I won!" My voice rang throughout the plaza as I bounced up and down. I won the duel... And the next two.

"Ok, ok, you're better then me. What else do you want?" Asked Laurence. I smirked.

"I wanna hear you say that I'm awesome." I challenged. He sighed.

"All right, you're awesome... And pretty." Laurence said. I froze.

Did he just...?

"So you think I'm pretty?" I asked. Laurence nodded, getting closer to me.

"Yup." He said, leaning into me.

Then, in my mind, the world froze. It was as if in my head, someone pressed the pause button.

He's going to kiss me... I thought. My vision is going to come true...

No. I won't let it. I have to prove Zenix wrong.

"I'm sorry, I have to go." I murmured, grabbing my sword and leaning away, hoping it would all be over as soon as I got home.

"Where are you going?" Asked a confused Laurence as he followed me. I broke into a run.

Please oh please oh please oh please no.

A/N The start of Laurnie! To be honest, I was a bit too straightforward with Laurnie before I edited, so I decided to make them go on a date first. Cause yeah...
