Melanie's POV

Cadenza and I were walking to Laurence, and I had to help her carry some stuff to his room.

"Cadenza, what are you planning on doing with all this stuff?" I asked, struggling with it.

"It's a secret. Well, for the villagers it is. For me and Laurence it isn't." She giggled. I rolled my eyes and we walked up the stairs to Aphmau's new home. She had a room built for guests like Laurence, a room for Zoey, and two more rooms. One for herself and one for Levin.

It was a very purple home, but if it was built by Kawaii Chan, I expect nothing less. We walked downstairs, and into Laurence's room. Aphmau was there, talking with Laurence. Her eyes lit up when she saw us.

"Hey guys! I was talking to Laurence." She said. Cadenza walked over to Laurence.

"So Laurence... I brought you some new clothing!" She said.

"Cadenza's here?" Asked Laurence. Aphmau giggled.

"Yeah, she's behind you." I responded.

"Ok, is anyone else here that I'm not aware of?" He asked. I laughed.

"Nope, just me and Cadenza and Aphmau." I promised. Laurence sighed.

"Look at you, Laurence. Your hair's a mess and the dye is coming off... Do you want me to fix it up and dye it back to normal?" Cadenza asked.

"You mean the way it was before you turned into a chicken? Yeah, that'd be nice." Laurence said.

"Wait, your hair is dyed?!" Aphmau asked.

"Yeah! I uh... Kinda dyed Laurence's hair literally the day before the whole chicken thing happened with Castor." Cadenza explained.

Chicken thing...? I wondered. I'd have to ask Cadenza about it later.

"He wanted to look different for some reason, and well, my hair is nice, so I thought, why not this color?" She concluded.

"I told her no so many times, but she insisted... I don't even like this color, you just look on fire all the time Cadenza. I just wanted to look different because--"

"The dye literally stained his forehead, you should've seen it, haha!"

"Ha... Hahahaha!" I giggled along with them, and noticed that Laurence was laughing for the first time in a while.

"You see that smile, Laurence? Keep it on your face. I'm going to turn Laurence back to his original self. He's going to look so different you won't even recognize him! I'm serious too, Melanie and Aphmau. You aren't." Cadenza said. Aphmau and I left the room, and went to Zoey's room.

"Mama! Mel!" Levin's screeches rang through my ears. I ran up to him and tickled him.

"Hi Levin! Are you excited for the baby shower?" I asked as Aphmau chatted with Zoey.

"Ba-By... Ba-by!" He chanted. I smiled, and left with Aphmau to invite everyone else to the shower.

Garroth, Aphmau and I were talking. Zane had disappeared, and no one has seen him. Frankly, I was glad, but if he was gone, it could be trouble.

"By the way Aphmau... Do you know of anything that could help with my engagement and Melanie's preventions?" He asked.

"What if we faked your deaths?" She asked.

"We already tried that. There's a reason we where our helms after all... They were still able to find us and somehow knew we were alive." I said.

"What if we open a Nether Portal and toss Zane inside, then break it?" Asked Aphmau.

"Wishful thinking... But I'm afraid the pig,en wouldn't like something that ugly in their realm and send him back, hahaha!" Garroth responded, earning laughs from all three of us.

"But, in all seriousness, you know why we can't harm him. Everyone in the village would suffer and possibly pay for our rash actions."

"What if you two pretended to have partners?" She asked, biting her lip.

"Uh... Um... I n-never thought about that... For me it couldn't possibly be just any girl, though. It would have to be a woman with power, or with magick abilities. If I had someone with a village of their own, then... YES IT MIGHT ACTUALLY WORK! But who... On such short notice, the only... Person is..." Garroth trailed off. It could work for me too. No one would ever make me do that if I pretended to be dating someone. It'd be like ripping a husband and wife away from each other. But on Garroth's note, it had to be specific, and I think I knew who would work.

"... Me isn't it?" Asked Aphmau, close to a whisper.

"N-No, I couldn't ask you to do such a thing." Garroth said.

"Well, what other choice do we have?" Asked Aphmau.

"If your ok posing as my girlfriend, then I'm all for it. But we need to see if there are any laws against it. Gods forbid there might be an execution they would force you into, or they might automatically declare war on Phoenix Drop." Explained Garroth.

"You're right. We have to know what might happen." Agreed Aphmau.

"If you see Zane, ask what would happen if I had another woman in my life. DO NOT tell him I do before you know what would happen. I fear he might do something rash. Got it?" Asked Garroth.

"Understood." Aphmau said.

"I'm sorry for dragging you through this mess, Lord Aphmau. I wish it wasn't even a thing to begin with. Thank you again, Lord Aphmau."

"Don't mention it." Then, Aphmau told him about the shower.

"Kiki's actually having it? Splendid, I'll be there." He said. Aphmau walked away to check on the rest of the villagers.

"Come on, Garroth. We have to get ready for tonight!" I cried, pulling him to our house.

The party was in full swing, and everyone was enjoying themselves. Aphmau was grabbing a bite to eat, and Garroth and I were talking. The only ones not here were Laurence and Cadenza, but they should be here soon.

Then, Zane came. He placed a small necklace around Alexis's neck, and walked outside. Even with our helms on, Garroth and I shared the same look- worry.

"Garroth, what was that all about?" Asked Aphmau.

"Aphmau, you have to go ask Zane now... I'm not sure what he's doing, but it's probably no good." Garroth said, worried. Aphmau nodded and walked outside.

About ten minutes later, I walked outside and Garroth and I saw a crazy event going on.

Aphmau was getting arrested by a guard of O'kasis, a man with brown hair and blue eyes stood behind her, and Zane was there, too.

"What the Nether is going on here?!" I asked.

"Lady Aphmau is getting arrested for questioning the High Priest, Zane." Said the guard.

"LET HER GO, RIGHT NOW!" Yelled Garroth. The guard was unfazed.

"I'm afraid I can do no such thing. Lady Aphmau was asking about your affairs, and why could she ask that unless she was planning on treason? She could be trying to stop the treaty, and then where would we be?" Asked Zane, crossing his arms and smirking.

"I'm not sure I like the way you're talking about my fiancé, High Priest Zane." The young man said.

"Laurence, why would you-?"

"Don't test me, Laurence. I know what's happened to you, and with the Shadow Knights. You're just trying to stop-"

"I thought the High Priest didn't believe in Shadow Knights?" Asked the young man.

Is that Laurence? I didn't even recognize him!

"Yes, well-"

"First my sight gets taken away from me, then the love of my life? No one would ever believe you." Said Laurence.

"Garroth, is this true? Do you bless this marriage? And you as well, Melanie?" Asked Zane, a smirk on his face.

I then realized what saying yes would mean. I was saying that I blessed Aphmau and Laurence's marriage.

Garroth and I shared a look, then in unison said,

"..............yes....."

"Wh-?!" I slapped my hand over Aphmau's mouth, so she wouldn't say anything.

"Then I too, will bless this marriage. You should contact me when it's time for the marriage. I will gladly perform the ceremony. Well, I best be off now." Said Zane, ordering and scolding his guard to let Aphmau go.
