Episode 51

A/N Again, the older version of this chapter was crap. So, I'm glad I'm changing it!

Also, you guys know that song, Shut Up and Dance with Me? It reminds me of this episode when Aphmau says,

"Forget about it, let's dance!"

Now do you guys get where I'm coming from?!

Again, the picture of the dress isn't showing up. If it is, great! If not, use your imaginations!

Melanie's POV

~-VISION-~

Laurence lied unconscious next to a very big, black dragon, who looks like he's taking his last breath. I ran to him, shaking him.

"Laurence?!" I cry, shaking him. Laurence stirs, but doesn't wake up.

"Oh, please Laurence, WAKE UP!" I cry. Nothing.

~-VISION OVER-~

"Melanie, you all right?" I woke up with Garroth by my side like always.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." I said, shaking my head.

"No, you're not. Tell me what happened." He ordered. I sighed.

"I saw Laurence lying unconscious on the ground, next to a huge black dragon." I explained.

"Melanie, I'm not sure if you should go to the wedding today..." Garroth said. I frowned.

"What!? I'm going to the wedding." I said. He sighed.

"I knew I wouldn't be able to stop you. All right, you can go, but you have to be standing next to me at all times.

"Alright, if it makes you feel better, I will." I promised. He nodded.

"Come on, we have to meet up with Aphmau." He said. I smirked.

"Ok, but you've been wanting to meet up with Aphmau a lot of times now..." I said. Garroth frowned.

"Just put on your armor and get ready to go." He said. I rolled my eyes, doing as he said.

----------------------------

When I tell you that I almost stopped breathing when I got to Aphmau's house... Is an understatement.

I almost died when I saw him.

The High Priest Zane.

Garroth seemed to sense my nervousness, and he walked closer to me.

"I-I-It's him!" I whispered.

"Yeah, I know, but for now, we have to stay calm." Garroth whispered back.

"Alright, I'll try..." I whispered. Aphmau walked out of the house, and gave the High Priest her greetings.

Then, a grim look overcame her, and she walked up to us.

"Melanie, Garroth... I'm not sure how it came to this, but I'm afraid you must wear formal clothing." Aphmau said, sighing.

Formal clothing... No helm... Zane could see us...

"I'm afraid we cannot wear formal clothing, Aphmau. You know how we feel about our... Faces." Garroth said. Aphmau took a deep breath.

"Just know that I didn't want it to come to this. Guards, I order you to wear formal clothing." She said.

What!? Did she just...?

"Then you'll have to find new guards! We aren't showing our faces." Garroth said loudly, fairly close to yelling.

Aphmau's eyes started to water, and she looked down at the floor, ashamed. I smacked the back of his head while she wasn't looking. Garroth seemed to regret saying that, and quickly took it back.

"I-I'm sorry Aphmau... I could never leave you. It's just, w-we have a bad past, and our faces- it's a long story." Said Garroth. Aphmau nodded, seeming relieved we weren't actually quitting.

"Guys... Take the day off." She sighed.

"What!?" Garroth and I said in unison.

"I think it's for the best. You two work too hard anyways, and it's for Donna. The High Priest says that if you don't wear formal clothing, he won't perform the ceremony. And, since you two don't want to do it, taking the day off seems like a better argument. Zane shouldn't ask any questions." Aphmau explained.

"... If that's how you feel, Aphmau, we will do it. But just know that we will still be near, ready for a fight if one comes our way." Garroth said. Aphmau nodded.

"Alright Garroth. Melanie... Take care of him." She said, giggling before making her way down to the village.

I turned to face Garroth, and we walked down to our house.

"So, what do we do?" I asked. Garroth shrugged.

"I honestly have no idea what just happened. All I know is that Zane is here." He said.

"Wait... Doesn't that make him my younger brother?" I asked. Garroth nodded.

"It should." He said.t

---------------------------

After an hour or two of waiting for the ceremony, and after the ceremony, an idea popped into my head.

"Garroth. We should go to the party! Everyone will be too busy with dancing and eating to notice us!" I exclaimed.

"... Fine. Let's do it." He said.

We made our way down to Cadenza's house. She had promised to make everyone in the village their dress and suit for the wedding, and it seemed like she pulled it off.

"Cadenza!" I cried, walking in. She walked out in her normal white laced dress.

"You two! Aphmau told me you might come eventually! Come on, I have your stuff all ready. You just have to get out of your armor." Cadenza said, grabbing clothing that was wrapped in plastic and handing one to each of us. We quickly started changing in her little changing closet. I went first.

I gasped as I finished putting the dress on. It was lovely. The dress was a silky fabric, with a beaded V-neck. My blonde curls complimented it amazingly. I walked out, and Cadenza gasped.

"Oh Melanie... You look amazing!" She cried, handing me a pair of white high heels, which I stepped into with great difficulty.

"She's not kidding Melanie." Said Garroth. I rolled my eyes and punched him playfully.

"Come on, Garroth. It's your turn." I said. He sighed, walking into the closet

Moments later, he walked out unlike nothing I've ever seen.

"Wow Garroth! You look better then I do!" I said, grabbing a brush and combing his messy hair. He tried squirming out of me, but I managed to finish before he escaped.

"Let's go! Aphmau might be waiting! And I expect you to dance with her." I said. Garroth frowned, and we walked to the plaza.

-----------------

I sat down at a table, watching Aphmau and Garroth dance with amusement. Everyone had stood up to dance with their partner.

Everyone but me.

I was sitting down, eating cake like a loner, when a familiar blonde came and sat next to me. She was holding a book.

"Wish you had a partner to dance with, too?" Emmalyn asked. I sighed, nodding.

"Well, come on! You can dance with me!" She cheered, grabbing my hands and pulling me to my feet.

We danced as friends would, goofing off and having fun.

--------------------------

After seeing off Logan and Donna, I noticed Aphmau and Garroth staying behind, and Garroth looked more nervous then usual. So, I decided to be a good sister and give them their space.

Yeah no, I didn't do that. Instead, I hid behind a bush and watched.

My ship must sail, my ship must sail! My thoughts chanted into my brain.

"Hey Aphmau... Do you think that we-"

I was quickly interrupted from watching by someone grabbing the collar of my dress with their hand and dragging me out to them, throwing me on the ground. I coughed, sand on my face.

"Zane!?" Aphmau cried.

Oh, this won't turn out well... I thought, standing up and slapping him. Then, I stood next to Garroth, who had pulled me back and away from Zane.

"Well well... I never thought that I'd see you two here of all places." He sneered.

"Hello, big brother. I see you've discovered your secret twin, as well."
