Aarav's POV

The phone call had left me numb, I meet him at the court for the first time during my divorcee. I noticed the true care and love in his eyes towards her but today his voice sounded of a wicked person. He dared to blackmail me, this could only be of a criminal mind not a genuine business man. 

I reached the police station and glanced at Shinde. I remembered many times he wanted to speak about the attack on my ex-wife but I shut him or diverted the topic. I walked to him and called "Shinde.."

Shinde looked up at me and was left surprised as I had just left 20 minutes ago. "Sir you are back again?" he asked

"What was that you wanted to speak about attacks on my wife?" I questioned him. 

Shinde opened the drawer and took out the file. I glanced around and didn't wanted everyone to be aware of it. I signaled him and went to my chamber. Shinde followed and I turned back at him with curiosity. 

He opened the file and took out a few pieces of papers. He forwarded them to me "Sir, Mrs. Malhotra was attacked not once but thrice and co-incidentally Sameer Khurrana was present there. I mean how can one person be there three times!" he said doubtfully. 

Aarav placed the papers on the desk and read the details about the attacks. "any information about the attackers?" I asked

"Yes Sir.. first attacker was Shambu and his gang whom you have cached years ago in a drug case. They were released 8 months earlier the attack and then second attack was from gang member of child trafficking and that last attack near the Taj Hotel he was brother of a criminal whom you have arrested in case of woman assaults" Shinde informed me giving me the further papers and information about each individual. 

How could I miss all this?? Is all this connected to Sameer and his blackmailing? I rolled my eyes at him "you have just 20 minutes get what ever information you can get about Sameer Khurrana! and trace his phone right now!" I retorted. 

Shinde shook his head in yes and left from there. I sat down on the chair grabbing my face in between my palm. 

Alisha marched into the chamber, she placed her hand on my shoulder. I looked up at her and passed her a smile "Alisha"

"Aarav what is happening? why are you so tensed?" she asked worriedly

"I don't have time to explain! you need to tell me everything you know about Sameer Khurrana" I said while getting up from my chair. 

She gave me a suspicious look "why the hell you want to know about it? just get over your ex-wife Aarav.. she doesn't care about you" she said angrily

I replied "I know.. but I am a public servant Alisha.. It's my duty to serve for country and citizen! Sameer Khurrana is not what he seems and I need to protect every innocent individual!"

Alisha gets more confused hearing me "What do you mean?" 

"just tell me everything even a small detail is enough" I said with curiosity. 

Alisha agreed and informed me a few things which she got  to know from Manvi. "Thanks please go home I will meet you soon" I said.

She hugged me "please take care of yourself" I nodded in yes and she left the police station.

Shinde returned with the phone call records and the location. I asked him to come with me and I immediately left to his whereabouts. I looked at time on my watch and there was just 15 minutes. Shinde turned on the police siren of the jeep and drove off at the fast speed. 

I took out my phone and scrolled the contract list. I had blocked Manvi's number as I didn't wanted to keep in touch with her anyway. I unblocked and dialed her but the phone was switched off. Just as I unblocked her there were about more than 50 miss calls from her and unread messages. I was taken back seeing all those messages. I hit my hand hard on the window in anger.

Shinde glanced at me for a second "Sir.. is everything fine?" he asked

"nothing is fine Shinde!" I said and closed my eyes for a moment. 

Shinde stopped the jeep in front of the warehouse. I got down and ordered him to wait for me. I broke the gate and marched inside holding my gun in my hand. I looked around there was complete darkness. I heard the voice and rushed towards the direction. 

There was a tape recorder, I picked it up and threw it away. A while light flashed in front of my eyes and I covered my eyes with my palm as I couldn't see anything in front. 

A screen projected and the voice was heard "Mr. Malhotra you didn't reached me.." I glanced at the screen and fumed in anger.

"Sameer what the hell you want from me? Where is she?!" I asked trying to maintain my calmness. 

He laughed "even after she betrayed you.. so much concern for her? why can't you hate that bitch?" 

"I don't care for her, I just want to know what you want from me?" I asked

"If you don't care for her then why are you here? Aarav I know your weakness.. that's why I triggered it.. by the way your ex-wife is really good in bed it was a lot pleasure having her inside me" he said teasingly. 

I closed my hand into a wist to control my anger. If he was in front of me I would have killed him for this. "You don't love her bastard! you used her" I shouted

"very smart Aarav.. I am impressed" he said 

I passed a smile to him "you are a coward Sameer you don't even have guts to even come in front of me" I said 

"I will definitely come in front of you but before that let me show you something.." he spoke and turned the camera around. I saw him walking towards a dark room with the camera. He opened the door and I was left numb seeing the scenario in front of my eyes. 

I raged in anger, I shouted "Sameer!" 

He came in front of the camera again and laughed "so don't challenge me inspector you failed at your first task that is the punishment that she had to bear. I hope you will not fail in your next task.." he laughed and the screen gets blank. 

I took a deep breath and rushed out of the factory. I sat inside the jeep and asked Shinde to take me to commissioner's home. He drove off and within 20 minutes I was at commissioner's house. 

I entered inside and rang the door bell. The servant opened the door and I rushed into his study room. He had been busy with some paperwork, he glanced at me and was surprised to find me here at this late hour "Aarav... what made you come at my house such late?" he asked 

"I need search warrant at Sameer's Khurrana house and office" I said anxiously. 

"Sameer Khurrana that industrialist.. why?" He asked suspiciously. 

I showed him a video and commissioner glanced at him. "He is blackmailing me Sir.. please I need to save her" I said

"Aarav are you sure?" he couldn't believe in this as Sameer is respectable citizen of the town. He had even helped in police association by contributing financially. 

I hit the table hard "Yes I am sure Sir! I need the search warrant" I said losing my cool. 

"Aarav calm down he loves your wife right? why would he do this with her? you must be mistaken" Commissioner spoke not believing me. 

"Sir he blackmailed me.. you have to trust me please" I pleaded him as someone might lose a life. 

Commissioner finally get convinces and I moved out of the house. I sat inside the jeep and headed back to the police station. Within half an hour, I was at the police station. I signaled everyone and they stood in front of me. 

"We need to search Sameer Khurrana every premises! find anything suspicious take it.. he had kept a lady hostile and we must free her" I ordered. 

"who is the lady sir?" one of the sub-inspector asked. 

"Manvi Sharma" I replied and loaded my gun with bullet. I took a deep breath and thought "Sameer you are dealing with me.. I won't get blackmailed and I will save her"
