*Manvi's POV*

I am Manvi Sinha, a girl in my late 20s. I am at the restaurant waiting for someone, it has been an hour and there is no sign of him. 

I picked up my phone and called the person, after a few rings, he picked up the call. I asked, "Where are you?" 

"in front of you," he said, I glanced at the door and he was standing there waving hey to me with his hand. 

I shot a deadly glare at him, he entered inside and hold his ears "I am sorry" 

I stood up and stepped towards the exit but he held my wrist. I spoke "leave my hand" 

"sorry Shona," he said in a most romantic tone of his. This always melts my heart when he says "Shona" to me. 

I sat back and he smiled at me. I said "because I am hungry, I still haven't forgiven you" 

He made a sad face, I ignored it and ordered the food. His phone buzzed and he answered it "yes Shinde, I will be there soon" 

I shot a deadly glare at him, he apologized and spoke "sorry Shona it's really important" he left the place paying the bill. 

I stood up and stamped my foot in anger "Aarav..." I uttered his name and left the restaurant without having the food. 

He was Aarav Malhotra, my long longtime boyfriend. I know him since 6 years, he always wanted to become a police officer as he loves to take risks and it's a thrill job for him.

I took the cab and reached my home. I marched inside, threw away my purse in the air and sat down on the couch angrily. 

Sometimes, I feel does he really loves me or just pulling our relationship unnecessary. My mother Nandini came out of the kitchen and saw my bag on the floor. 

She scolded me for my act "What is this mannu? why is your purse on the floor?" she questioned me. 

"mom.. I hate him he doesn't love me anymore" I shouted in anger. 

Nandini was shocked at my reaction, she sat down beside me and asked "what did he do now?" 

"he called me for the date, he turned up late and his phone disturbed he left me alone" I complained to her. 

Nandini smiled, I gave her a look "why are you smiling?" I questioned her. 

She slapped lightly on my head playfully and replied "you know he is a police officer and he can't neglect his duty" 

"I know but when he is with me.. at least be with me fully" I spoke annoyed and went straight to my room. 

The doorbell ranged after an hour, I heard my mother voice. 

"Aarav.." she said. 

"namaste maa" He replied and took blessings from her. 

Nandini smiled, Aarav looked around and asked "Manvi?" 

"in the room.." Nandini replied. After a few seconds, there was a knock at my door. 

His sweetest tone I heard "Shona (baby).... open the door" 

I replied in anger voice "get lost Aarav"

He had entered the room, as it was not locked. I turned to him, he was in his police uniform. He held his ears and apologized "I am sorry.." 

I always meltdown when he apologizes, but this time I am not going to forgive me. I crossed my arms around the chest and turned. 

He hugged me from behind and places his cap on my head "Soon to be Mrs. Manvi Malhotra I love you the most.." he placed a kiss on my neck and I closed my eyes. 

He always escapes with his romantic act. I turned to him and made a face "you don't let me get angry on you" 

He kept his hand around the waist and pulled me closer. I looked straight into his eyes, he said  "I know how to calm you down.. and not for than a minute you can be angry with me after that" 

I smiled hearing his words, it is true I love me since our college days and took our relationship forward by binding into the marriage. 

He left me when Nandini's voice was heard "I hope you are still marrying each other?" 

Aarav turned to her and smiled "of course maa.. I am not letting her get away from me easily" 

I eyed him and the love for me was seen in his eyes. He again apologized as it was urgent so he had to leave her alone in the restaurant. 

"okay you are forgiven.. but last time," I said in a warning tone. 

Aarav bowed his head in front of me "yes boss" 

"See how much he loves you.. jisko sab salute karte hai wo tere aage aise jukha hua hai.." Nandini replied. 

"I will do it always Maa.." Aarav said and we moved out of the room. Karan, my father had also returned from his office. 

We sat down on the dining table for the dinner, it was the perfect family moment. Karan and Nandini discussed with him about the engagement preparation. 

"maa.. papa the way you want.. just go for it" Aarav said. 

"but your choice also matters Aarav" I replied, turning my head towards him. 

He drank the water and said "Manvi.. I already made my choice" 

I smiled sheepishly hearing him. Nandini said "he is right, but better take an off on the engagement day.. no duty" 

Aarav nodded in yes.. "promise maa.. " 

He stood up, checking the time on his watch. "I should leave now, morning have to go to Delhi to catch some criminals bye take care" 

I waved him bye and left the house.  I feel so proud of him, he is protecting civilians like us. I sighed, Nandini said, "Manvi.. you shouldn't complain.." 

I realised, I overreacted.

"yes maa, you are right he really loved me warna toh shaadi ke commitment se hi bhaagte haii sab aajkal" I told her.

Nandini smiled and kissed my forehead "remember Manvi, something you must compromise and understand. Aur tu ab aise nasamjhi karna chod de zara si baat pe gussa ho gayii usse"

I replied 'that is my right okay maa, agar gussa nahi hoti toh wo ghar nahi aata mujhe manata nhi aur hamare saath dinner kaise karta"

Nandini smiled hearing my words.

I messaged him "I love you Aarav.." 

He replied "not more than me.. Shona" with a heart emoji. 

"Shona" when he says that, I skip a beat. I went to my room and slept thinking about our engagement which was in two days. 

Aarav headed towards Delhi, he smiled and thought "shona I love you the most but.. Meri duty hi aisi hai I promise I won't let this happen again.."
