It's 24 hours till NXT TakeOver Brooklyn and the stars are hyped, the card is full of stars and potential classics, "The Vaudevillains" taking on Murphy and Blake for the Tag team titles, Samoa Joe against the "Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin, then the Women's NXT Championship match between best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks, then the Main Event, NXT Champion Ace will now be taking on both Duncan Blake and Kevin Owens, it's not going to be easy for him but that's tomorrow, today is time for Ace to spend with his family.

Lori: This is so exciting!

Ace's parents, Lori and David Hicks have never been to New York before, so Ace was excited that he got them all tickets for the show, it won't be their first show they've been too but this is defiantly the biggest of his career so far, which is why he's over the moon they could all come to the Big Apple to share this moment with him, including his little sister, Ariana.

Ariana: The buildings are bigger here.

Ace looked up to his 7 year old sister, people think it's strange that there's a big age difference between Ace and Ariana and they'd be right, there's nearly 20 years but it's fine since their both adopted, Ace is actually only 13 years younger then his mother Lori, they felt bad for him when they met him, he was 9 when they took him in, it was tough since they were still young themselves and Ace had a terrible past but they got him through it, then they felt they were ready to take in another, someone younger, so they met Ariana and since she was 4, she's loved her big brother.

David: She's not wrong.

Ariana is sitting up on Ace's shoulders while they small family group walked around New York, Ace has only been here himself once or twice, it was for wrestling shows, most of the time he needed to head towards another show instead of being able to take in the "City that never Sleeps", now he's with his loved ones, he's going to take his time and enjoy the awesome life he gets to live.

Ace: That's only because the size of Duncan's head. They have to be big for him to get in them.

Ariana has met Duncan, she's met all of Ace's friends and so has his mother Lori, David is a hard working construction worker, he has to work majority of the time to pay the bills, Ace has offered to help but David's a proud man and doesn't want to take money from his son, so Ace gives it to Lori instead and they can live a nice life, David knows about it but they all are happy with the way their doing things so no one's going to stop it.

Duncan: It's worrying how much you talk about my head, pipsqueak.

Ace, David and Lori turned to see three people walking towards them, Lori already recognises them all since she's met them before but David hadn't, Ariana hasn't met one of them though, so in the chance of meeting a new person, she climbed down from Ace's shoulder's then stood behind him in an attempt of hiding from the new face of the group.

Ace: Mom, Dad, this is Duncan, his girlfriend Mercedes and her best friend Pam.

Duncan and Mercedes waved a little, Duncan with his right arm around her as she hugged into the big lug, Ace looked around for Ariana till he looked behind him, he tried to use his right hand to move her to the front to say "hi" to Pam, she's sweet and harmless, Ariana's just shy, she was like this when she first met the others but she never takes long to warm up to new people.

Pamela: Hi! Who's this?

Pamela bent down, her hands on her knees trying to be eye level with Ariana, she's met so many fans since her NXT debut, most of them kids who fell in love with her "Hugger" character, a lot of the NXT talent love her as well, she's so friendly and kind, it won't take Ariana long to love Pamela as much as they all do.

Ace: Say "hi"...

David and Lori are catching up with Duncan and Mercedes, they've met Duncan a lot these past couple years and love how close of friends he and their son have become, Ace struggled making friends as a kid, mostly because he was in and out of homes, by the time they took him in, he was ready for middle school and those fuckers can be horrible, Ace never seemed to mind though because now he has a lot of friends, even if the NXT crowd don't like him.

Lori: She's shy.

Pamela looked up to Lori, a smile never leaving her face, Ariana though tugged on Ace's shirt making him look down to her, the conversation stopped and watched as Ace dropped down to squat so she can talk to him, say what you want about "The Gambler" but Ace Hicks loves his little sister and nothing will change that.

Ace: What's wrong?

Pam squatted down as well and watched with a smile while Ace smiled in her direction, not to Pam specifically but towards her, Mercedes looked between them with squinted eyes, Duncan, Lori and David didn't though so she left it, she knows her friend though and is wondering if Pam might have a little something in mind for the NXT Champion.

Ace: Sure, why not?

Ariana cheered by jumping up and down a little with an overjoyed look on her face, Ace pulled her into a hug and lifted her so she's hugging his side like a koala, lucky Ariana is a little smaller than the average 7 year old so it's not difficult to hold her, Lori smiled kissing her little girls cheek.

Lori: What's wrong?

Lori loves that her babies get along so much, Ace wasn't all too excited about bringing another into their family, he was just scared he was going to be pushed out, once he realised he was being an idiot, he got used to being a bigger brother, something David and Lori are proud of him for, he helped as much as he could when she was little, he'll make a great father one day.

Ace: Nothing, she just wants to go ice skating. You guys go do something, I'll take her.

Ace indicated for their parents to go and enjoy New York, Ace will have another chance to come here, his parents might not have many more chances getting out of Devon, so he wanted them to enjoy New York's sights and what not, away from Ariana constantly wanting to do kids activities, they've deserve a break.

David: You sure?

David asked but he was already silently thanking Ace for this, he's grown a lot since they adopted Ariana, emotionally and physically, they watch Ace on Tv every single week, Ariana loves it, she's even copied him with the couch pillows once or twice, Ace knows that and wants them to just some time together, so he needed to them both making Duncan and Mercedes smile too.

Ace: Yeah, go have fun. How often are you kids free?

Lori smiled kissing his cheek and Ariana's head before they waved them "bye" leaving Ace with Ariana, Pamela, Duncan and Mercedes, the couple of Duncan and Mercedes have already made it pretty clear that have no interest in going ice skating, to be fair, Duncan's a big guy, 6'3 and over 200 pounds, that can't do well on ice, so Ace didn't mind them dipping out.

Pamela: Mind if I tag along? I always feel awkward with those two.

Ace understands, being a third wheel with Duncan and Mercedes is like hanging out at a High school party, just idiots making out whenever they have a chance, the only time they stop is to breath, Ariana didn't seem to mind, she didn't really care though, she just wanted to go ice skating, she didn't care who's with her, she just wants to skate, so Ace didn't see an issue with it.

Ace: Of course. More the merrier.

Pamela smiled and they just left Mercedes and Duncan behind, they didn't even seem to realise they were alone anyway, Ace and Pamela had a nice talk while watching Ariana, to the outside world, they looked like a little cute family, but their not, their just two friends taking his little sister ice skating, Ariana though was so excited she was going to run off as soon as they got to the ice skating rink, Ace had to stop her till they got their skates, the women behind the counter offered to help her put her skates on leaving Pam and Ace on their own for a moment.

Ace: You think they figured it out?

Ace and Pamela stood at the barricade watching the others skate around, Pam's not going to be joining them on the ice, she's not risking an injury with the biggest night of her career mere hours away, Ace though is willing to take the chance, she's more important to him then the NXT title, that just shows how much Ariana mean's to him.

Pamela: Not a chance.

Pamela smiled at him while he looked back at her. They've been sharing a naughty little secret for a couple of weeks now so while the two stood side by side till she put her hand on the back of his neck and pulled him into a really nice kiss...

... Not many WWE fans are going to be going to ice skating rinks so they were able to be together without being worried this will get out, not that their ashamed of each other because they aren't, Ace adores Pamela, she's so sweet and kind to everyone, she's everything he's looking for in a women, the same thing with Ace for Pam, only he can be a little bit risky, he says dumb stuff which makes her laugh, he's kind, caring and funny, watching him with Ariana just makes her adore him evenmore.

Ace: True, Duncan's obsessed with Mercedes. He could be in a burning building and wouldn't realise it.

Pamela giggled to him, they are adorably smitten with each other, Pam is a little worried though, they don't really seem to go out as a couple, they just tend to make-out and have sex, Pamela love's Mercedes and doesn't want to see them break-up because things got stale between them, Ace doesn't either, Duncan talks a big game but he's a kind hearted guy, he just likes to play the tough guy.

Pamela: It was nice seeing your parents.

Ace shrugged a little, he didn't actually plan for them to meet each other, at some point he would have sure but when they were ready to go public with this, they don't even want to tell their friends and co-workers right now, telling their parents and the public about them is not on the cards, Ace does appreciate that she played along though and didn't make it a big deal.

Ace: Yeah. I always pictured you meeting them during an awkward dinner where you're being told embarrassing stories about me growing up.

Pamela leant her head into him, Ace put his left arm around her, holding onto the barricade on the other side of her, Pam enjoyed this, they both wish they can put this into the public already but every relationship is perfect for 3 months, after that things either get stronger or start to drop off, once they pass that line, they can finally be together in the public eye without having to hide eachother every time they want to do something together.

Pamela: Well, we can still do the stories if you want.

Ace chuckled while shaking his head, he really didn't want to do that at all, mostly because he doesn't want to, he didn't have much of a childhood, he was nearly 10 when the Hicks' adopted him, his childhood was going from house to house, there isn't really much to talk about, his teen years though, that's where the really embarrassing stuff lives.

Ariana: Ace! Come on!

Ariana walked over to them as best she can with the help of the women who served them and helped with Ariana's skates, Ace however can walk on them and easily took over, pulling her onto the ice, for the first hour it was just Ariana falling and Ace helping her up, Pamela smiled the entire time with Ariana laughing, everytime she fell, she'd laugh and get right back up, their adorable together, this is a nice way though to wined down till tomorrow night, they've both got a busy night, it's going to be amazing...
