The sound of the continuous clacking of my laptop's keyboard and the high-pitched clicking of its mouse mouse echoed around my messy apartment as my eyes simply stared at the glowing monitor, my progress going further little by little. Just a few more and I'll be done. Just. A. Little. More.

Placing the final word at the intended note, I grinned in satisfaction. I placed my large headphones on my ears, readily anticipating the sound that'll come out once I click the little rectangular gray button with a white titled triangle on it.

Click.

The sounds of the virtual instruments started the introduction of the song, blending harmoniously as I desired. My smile grew wider. Excitement welled up in my chest. Then came her somewhat robotic voice. The voice synthesizer's voice. Hatsune Miku. Her voice sang my lyrics according to the notes of my own composition. Everything blended better than I expected.

I lay down, grasping my earphones on my ears as my soft large pillow caught both my torso and my head. I drowned myself with my own music, forgetting all of my worries and my concerns. I couldn't describe what's in my chest. I was happy—-I created this song. I made it. It's beautiful in my standards. At the same time, I was worried—-what if the next sound that'll come out would turn out wrong?

But my worry immediately evaporated once she, Hatsune Miku, my virtual best friend, and the other instruments hit the last note correctly. I gaped at the screen for a good estimated five seconds. I put down my headphones on my laptop then lay down once I again. I rolled back and forth  on my tatami floor like a barrel in a ship in the middle of a storm—an idiotic act. I just couldn't contain myself! IT WAS AMAZING! I was definitely squealing and giggling like a crazed fangirl.

When I somehow got over my excitement, I sat up and faced my monitor's screen. I saved the music and exported it into an mp3 file with the highest possible quality then made it into a video with my drawing of the teal-haired character slightly animated according to the theme of the song. (It kind of sucked, by the way. But hopefully, my listeners wouldn't mind.) I logged in to my account in niconico.jp, the website I was really active in. I hovered the pointer to the button that said 'Menu', showing options below it. I clicked 'My Uploads' then the orange 'Upload' button which took me to another page. I clicked 'Choose File' which made a pop up. I selected the video and clicked 'Open'. I dragged the mouse pointed to the black 'Upload Video' button, my hands trembling from trying to keep a lid on my emotions. It did as I asked.

The video started uploading. Oh my gosh. I ran to the kitchen to nibble on a chocolate chip cookie then went back with one. I devoured the sweet little cookie in one bite. Yum! I need sweets when I'm feeling like this!

As I chewed the crunchy cookie, the doorbell rang.

Wait, was I hallucinating? It's almost impossible for someone to visit me. I didn't order for anything, nor did I have some letters to be addressed to me today. Yuki-chan has always comes over on Fridays, not on Mondays. The apartment's manager knew that I didn't want to be bothered at this moment. The teacher, Akari-sensei, who used to visit me every single day, gave up and stopped weeks ago.

I looked out of the window. The sky was a gradient of purple, pink, orange, and yellow. The sun was setting and night was drawing near.

Excitement was replaced by anxiety. I went to the kitchen and took a sharp knife, just in case there's a murderer or a criminal in my doorstep. I've read and watched this kind of tactic before; I practically binge watched a couple of episodes and seasons of Detective Conan and Sherlock, both crime and detective stories, during this week.

I nervously tiptoed to the door my small apartment, carefully striving not to make a sound. I clutched the knife in one hand as the other slowly went its way towards the doorknob. My hand was shaking. The metal doorknob was freezing cold like ice.

Oh gosh. Oh gosh. Oh gosh.

I slowly turned the doorknob and pulled it open. I pointed the knife to the unexpected guest who might be an paid assassin plotting to kill me in my own room.

I was suddenly cemented to the floor, my knees feeling like jelly. My eyes met unreadable but mesmerizing heterochromatic eyes—one red and one yellow—both slightly covered by crimson hair. The unexpected guest wore a black collared top under his dark gray blazer and pants. He was taller than me by an estimated fifteen centimeters. His lips were slightly parted, probably surprised with my offensive gesture, but he immediately closed them. Gosh, he was handsome. Wait, scratch that. He's gorgeous!

Flustered, I immediately pulled back my knife and slammed the door. I fell to my knees, leaning against the wooden door which separated me and the guy for support. My heart was hammering so loudly and so quickly against my chest. Why was there such a handsome creature in my doorstep?! It must be one of my hallucinations for playing too much otome games with hot and nosebleed-worthy guys in them!

The doorbell rang once.

It was real.

Twice.

Oh my gosh.

I then noticed my reflection on the mirror. I nearly scared myself because of the horrifying real-time image on the mirror. Pale unhealthy complexion, dark bags under my dull green eyes, messed up really long dark brown hair with bangs that seemed unkempt—a simple description of my utter hideousness. Plus, most of my hair covered my face. I looked like Sadako's long-lost sister!

The doorbell rang for the third time.

I returned the knife to the kitchen. I took a rubber band from my table and tied my hair up in a messy bun. It'll have to do. I would have to just blame myself later for pulling consecutive all-nighters and just taking power naps to compensate.

I took a deep breath, preparing myself to face the handsome redhead once again. I slowly opened the door, and only opened it partially. I peeked out. I wasn't ready to face him and show myself after what happened. I nearly scarred him with the knife! It's too embarrassing! He was still there, his gaze averted to me. Those captivating eyes.

I looked away. My heart suddenly started skipping beats. "W-What is it...?" I stuttered. Despite being oh-so-gorgeous, he also scared me. He may be quite familiar, with him wearing my school's uniform, I couldn't feel one bit comfortable with him. He has this aura like he's the supreme ruler of the universe or something. Like he's a fire-breathing dragon and I'm a poor little mouse trapped in his grasp.

He stared at me stoically. In a deep yet velvety voice, he answered, "Akashi Seijuurou. Rakuzan High's student body president, the basketball team's captain, your classmate. And I order you to get back to school starting tomorrow."
