Such A Beautiful Voice...(Calamity Trio x Fem!Reader)

Requested by @orlando-bloo97

A new student, Y/n, has arrived at Saint James Middle School. The trio is intrigued by her, mostly because of the songs she sings. Pretty soon, a middle school competitive talent show is coming up, and the Calamity Trio eventually convince Y/n to be their lead singer.

In this AU, Amphibia never happened.

Everyone is 14, mostly because their birthdays were in the middle of their 8th grade year.

Anne's POV:

After getting my stuff out of my locker, I met up with Sash and Marbles, as per usual.

We talked about random crap going on in our lives, as per usual.

However, an announcement from the principal disrupted the schedule.

"Ahem, ahem, can everyone hear me? They can? Good.

"Welcome to another day at school! This is your principal, Dr. Tsudonim, speaking, and I have a very special announcement to make!"

Everyone groaned. Usually the "special" announcements weren't all that good, and Dr. Tsudonim had the tendency of making the worst things sound good in the most childish voice ever.

"We have a new student coming to our school! Her name is Y/n, uses she/her pronouns, and-oh, yes? What? No, she didn't tell me that. Why now? I refuse! Wait, is that a *muffled noises coming from the intercom* Okay fine fine! I won't reveal anything else! If that's what you wish! Wait, do you mean they can hear me? They heard every word that I previously said, you say? I embarrassed myself, you say? WHAT! OKAY THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS OVER-"

After a few seconds of silence, the whole school started laughing.

"Oh~My~Frog!" I managed to splutter out. "That~will~live~forever~in the~security cameras~BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAA~"

"I~know!" Marcy laughed, also finding it hard to say complete sentences. "That~funny~oh my world~"

Sasha wasn't able to say anything from the start, she was rolling on the ground at this point.

After 20 minutes of that shenanigan, we were able to calm down and start listening to our science teacher, who still chortled sometimes during the lesson.

After the bell rang and we made it to band, we saw that mysterious new kid sitting down at the edge of the room.

"She doesn't look like someone to mess with," Sasha whispered, causing me to blush and jump in unison.

"Uh, right!" I stammered. "I-I don't think she would've worn a hood if she didn't want to send a message!"

"Aww, come on! I don't think she's that bad!" Marcy cooed. "Let's talk to her!"

She walked toward the girl, against Sasha and my protests.

"Hey Y/n! I think you're cool!" she started, kneeling down to see her better.

Y/n's POV:

That girl!

The nerve she has to interrupt my silent contemplations!

"Go away," I muttered, glaring at her.

She didn't seem bothered by that. "Awww, you look so cute! I'm Marcy, by the way!"

I grunted, feeling my face heat up. How could she be so immune to something that usually sent other people screaming?

"I also have 2 other friends that I think you'd like! Hey guys, come over here!"

Two more people??! Great.

....

FINE. I IMMEDIATELY TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID.

The first girl, which Marcy introduced as Anne, has short, really poofy milk-chocolate-mixed-with-dirt hair and somewhat lighter skin. I'll classify it as a brown-hazel color. I'd say she stands at 5'6".

The other girl, who apparently is known as Sasha, is your typical white girl. Blonde hair, blue eyes, about 5'7, keeps her hair in a ponytail with one strand falling to the right side of her face.

Why do they all have to be so...uhhhh....FINE I'LL ADMIT IT.

I LIKE THEM.
A LOT.

The bell then rung. Dang, the time here flies.

Now what kinds of wings would time have?

Immediately pulling out my notebook to sketch it, the band teacher started talking.

"Welcome, welcome! Y/n, I'm Mrs. Petrella, and there's a lot to get done, so you can sit aside for this rehearsal, but as of tomorrow, I expect you to have picked at least 1 instrument you want to play. Now, let's get to it!"

I surveyed the room for the people I'd just met.
Oh there they are!

So, Sasha's on trumpet, Marcy's on the drum kit (Lucky duck, we've only used the drum kit one time in concert band and I don't like talking about that song), and Anne's a saxophone. Heh. Reminds me of Careless Whisper and Tequila.

I started humming "Going Under" by Evanescence, and kept going until the end of the hour, pausing only to listen to the band play, and I have to admit, they weren't all that bad!

Compared to all the other bands I've heard, of course...

Marcy's POV:

After the final bell rung, I walked up to Y/n, since she was in my last hour.

"Hey, do you wanna hang out with me, Sasha, and Anne after school?" I offered politely.

She stifled a gasp, and-did her face just go a little red?

"Uh-um-uh-uh," she tried to say.

Immediately regretting asking, I rushed, "It's okay if you don't want to right now, I understand that you're a little anti-social and-"

"Nonononono, I want to!" Y/n interrupted. "But, uh, I'd have to ask my mother, and, uhh...See you later!"

She rushed out the door without another word.

Huh, odd.

After a few moments of being in that position, I ran to meet up with Sash and Anna-banana, since I know that they were waiting for me.

"Hey, what took you so long?" Sasha started.

"Ummm, so I tried to ask Y/n to hang out with us, and she started acting weird, eventually running out without saying goodbye!" I explained.

"Sounds like a case of gay!" Anne stated.

Me and Sash stared at Anne as if she was insane. "What?"

"Gay!" she confirmed, then offered an explanation. "She's been acting a little weird ever since she first saw us. In my PE class, she mostly stayed off to the side with her hood and headphones on, and when I offered for her to play on my bolleyball team, she started stuttering about her not really wanting to and saying, 'Another time, Anne. Another time.'"

"Whoa, she seriously said stuff to you?" Sasha added. "In math, she wouldn't say a single word; she just helped me without anything uttered. And any attempt at small talk was immediately shut down by a finger to the mouth. My. Mouth! Her hood was on, too!"

"The point being, I think she likes us all!" Anne concluded. "Which isn't that uncommon, polyamory that is, and it's really fun!...er, at least from what I've heard..."

"Hey, go be gay somewhere else!" Maddie, the school bully, shouted at us.

"Right-o, cheerio!" Anne yelled back, already beginning to walk away. "Come on guys, let's go hang out!"

The Next Day

Sasha's POV:

"Oh, the talent show's coming up again," I yelled to my best friends.

Turning 180 degrees, they ran back to me.

"I still think we should show our band skills," Marcy said, immediately squishing against me to not block the flow of traffic in the hallway.

And causing me to blush, but that's not important.

"And I still think we need a singer," Anne countered, also pushing against me, making my face go a deeper shade of red.

"Come on, it's not that important. We can all sing!" Marcy argued.

"That's because we're lucky that we can play instruments that allow us to," I reasoned, trying to ignore the constant sandwich issue.

"We'll ask Y/n!"

"Can we, though?" Anne retorted. "She might not want to get on stage. She might say no!"

"Well, you're just being negative! I think she'd love to! I've heard her voice!"

Wait. What?

"She can sing?" I asked.

"Yeah! Her voice is that of an angel, guys! It evokes the magic of going out after it's raining, the gentle warmth of the sunlight on your back, the way it reflects off of the dew on the leaves and the grass, the clouds dissapaiting, the gentle wind that blows, causing you to cool off, and the rainbow that appears after the last of the rain has gone! She's perfect!"

Well, that's kinda gay.

But aren't we all.

"Fine," me and Anne both muttered.

Marcy let out an adorable squeal.

"But you're asking," we said in unison.

She muttered curses at us whilst walking away.

Turning to Anne, I said, "She's really cute, isn't she?"

"Yup, we're all gay for Marcy at this point," she responded.

As to you, I thought.

"We should ask her out at somepoint," Anne kept going.

"Oh, yeah yeah!" I went along. But then I remembered what she'd said earlier.

"Wait. We?"

"Yeah! You like me too!" Anne responded, looking the most carefree that she could. I, however, couldn't understand how she could be so calm.

"You knew?"

"Yeah! You were being quite obvious about it too! Don't think I haven't seen all those times you've gone red around me! You've tripped because you were looking at me!"

"That was one time," I groaned.

"I've had the honor to be, your obedient servant, A Dot Boon."

She walked away after saying that.

Anne and her Hamilton references...

To be continued.

This was beginning to take too long, I'm so sincerely sorry, I'm making a second part as I speak. Here's to hoping it's going to be ready soon...
