Friendship, Love, Determination
It was morning by the time the firefighters left. The sun was up and it was almost noon. After everything was cleaned up, no one knew where they were gonna go. There was no longer a roof above their heads.
Ash came up with an idea to go live in an apartment for a while, but everyone said it would be to crowded.
"I don't know. Maybe we can build a new house somewhere else. I don't mind. I never planned to live here, nor live in that house. I wanted to move anyway." Serena smiled.
"That sounds great, but where do we go while the house is being built?" Clemont asked.
"Well... we could travel like we did when we were kids!" Serena jumped.
"But, your showcases." Bonnie said, her voice shaky.
"I can manage those. I'll just have to talk to my manager about it. I'm sure he'll understand with my- well house burnt to a crisp." Serena laughed.
"I think I should get going." Calem said.
"What? Now?" Serena asked.
"Yeah, I've been gone for awhile now, I think I should go visit my mom. She's probably been pretty lonely." Calem laughed.
"It's been great seeing you." Ash put out his hand with a smile on his face.
Calem looked up at him and smiled back. He took his hand and shook it.
"I hope I'll be able to battle you someday Ash." Calem smirked.
"We'll have that battle. I promise you that." Ash said this with his eyes showing his determination.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu added, static coming out from its cheeks as it looked up at Calem.
Calem pulled back from the handshake and gave one last smile. He then turned around in the opposite direction towards Vanville Town.
Ash tuned back as well and looked down at the gang.
Ash went back to his memories of the them. Their departure was the worst out of all of it. He just left them all like that, at a snap of a finger.
He looked down on Serena and Bonnie talking with smiles on their faces and then to Clemont, the same smile, watching the two talk. But Ash. He wore a frown. He should of never left them. He should of stayed with them. He wanted to grow up with them, all the times they could of spent. All thrown down the drain. Everything was just thrown away.
He mentally hit himself. His head hung down in shame with his eyes closed shut. He clenching his teeth as his hands formed into fists at his side.
He was the worst friend ever. How could he leave them like that. When he looked looked back up, he saw Serena looking at him. Her eyes showing worry and a frown showing that she wasn't happy with the situation.
"What's wrong?" Serena asked.
"Oh, nothing." Ash rubbed the back of his head.
"I know that's not true."
Ash gave a fake smile and said, "Well. Um."
"Ash, seriously. You can tell me anything." Serena said, a smile on her face which made Ash smile.
"Okay, it's just that... I'm sorry for leaving you guys. You know, when I left Kalos. I kinda just left without any of us spending any time together after the Pokèmon League."
"Ash, that doesn't matter. You're here now, aren't you?" Serena smiled and then kissed him on the cheek, making him blush.
"Come on. Let's go continue our journey." She grabbed Ash's hand and dragged him along as she ran over to Bonnie and Clemont who were already starting to walk out of the city.
Once they caught up, they were smiling at each other, but Bonnie broke the silence by placing her hand in the middle of all of them.
Everyone starred down at it and smiled. Clemont put his hand down as well, placing it on top of Bonnie's, Serena placing it on top of Clemont's and Ash setting his on top of Serena's. Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder and then crawled on Ash's arm to put his hand in it as well. Dedenne did the same, only with him jumping into her head and jumping over to the pile of hands.
Everyone looked down at their hands, each one has grown, compared to their hands when they were all ten. Now they were teens. And the best part was, they were back together on another adventure that no one knew was going to lead.
Everyone lifted their heads up and looked at each other. Everyone looked older as well.
"I'm glad I'll be traveling with all of you." Ash smiled.
"Yeah." Bonnie, Clemont and Serena all said together.
Then the got ready and said, "1, 2, 3!"
And at the count of three, they lifted their hands up from the pile and lifted them above their heads. Their hands reaching up towards the sun and the sky.
They all looked at each other with smiles on their faces and their hearts full of friendship, love, and determination.
This was the beginning of a new adventure.
