A Smile That Could Win Her Over

When Serena opened her eyes, the sun was coming through the window, hitting against the wall and the Lilac that Ash gave her. They still had the same light, soft, pale purple. She turned around and saw Ash. He still had his arm wrapped around her. She blushed and carefully got off the bed. She tip toed out of her bedroom and saw that Ash's bedroom door was open. "Calem must be awake." She thought.

She went back into her room and went into the bathroom to get dressed into her normal day outfit. When she was done, she brushed her hair and went back to the bedroom. Ash was still sleeping, laying down on his side. Serena left the bedroom, closing the door behind her and went towards the front of the house.

She looked in the living room to check if anyone was up, like Bonnie. The lights were on, so that meant that someone was there, but the t.v. wasn't on and there was no one to be seen either.

"Serena!" A voice came over from the kitchen, which sounded like Calem's.

She turned around and saw Calem running towards her. Before she could do anything he hugged her.

"Oh my gosh, Serena! I've been looking around everywhere. I went to see you and you were gone! I didn't know what to do! I was worried sick, I dreamt that you were killed by that Z shaped pokemon while I was at the hospital. I started to search all over for you. Thank Acreus that you're alive. I know it's stupid to think that the dream I had was true, but it seemed so real." Calem released her from his hug.

"Can I ask you something?" Serena looked up at him in a worried face.

"Sure, anything!" Calem smiled.

"Was it- I mean, how did I die?" Serena asked.

"Oh... Well, the Z shape pokemon used Earthquake and a rock... a rock shot up out of the ground and the next thing I knew, you were... you were-"

"I was pierced through the stomach by it?" Serena asked.

"Uh- yeah, but how did you know?" Calem asked, concerned.

"Because-" she hesitated. Should she tell him? She didn't know. She didn't want to see his reaction so she lied, "becuase I- becuase I had the same dream."

"Really?" Calem's eyes widened.

She started to regret what she said. Now he would be worried if it would happen to her- even though it already has.

"Oh, well if that was ever to happen to you, I would protect you, so don't worry about it!" Calem smiled.

"Thanks Calem." Serena blushed.

"Hey Serena." Ash walked out of the hallway and walking over to them, Pikachu following. Ash had on his everyday clothing, except for his hat. He saw Serena blush and felt anger rise up inside him, but he ignored it.

Calem's smiled disappeared. "Why is he still hear?"

"Oh, Ash decided to live here in Kalos." Serena smiled.

"He what!?" Calem's mind pondered. "Out of all times he could of decided to stay, he chose now!?"

"I'm letting him a stay here with me, until he can find a place to stay."

A wave of relief, spread throughout Calem's body. "Thank goodness, he's not staying here permanently!"

"Nice to see you back to full health Calem." Ash smiled.

Calem hated Ash's smile. Ever since he ever met Ash, he despised it. It was a smile that could win over any girl. A smile that could win over Serena.

"So, Calem, are you going to stay here for a while too?" Serena asked.

"Oh, yeah. You see, I don't have anyplace to stay, when you found me, I was traveling with my pokemon." Calem sweatdropped.

"That's, fine stay here as long as you want." Serena smiled.

"How ever long I want? Does that mean that she likes me? Wait, no. I'm just jumping to conclusions." Calem thought.

"Where's Clemont? Shouldn't he be making breakfast?" Ash asked.

"I'm right here." Clemont walked up from behind him.

Calem's heart dropped again. Another boy to he would have to fight with for Serena.

"There you are, so what are we having for breakfast!?" Ash asked, excitedly.

"I don't know yet, but I'll tell you, when I do." Clemont walked over towards the cabinets in the kitchen.

"Sounds great!" Ash exclaimed, his face lighting up by the thought of food, but then disappeared as he thought of something. "Oh, Clemont, how did the date go with you and Korrina?"

Calem's hopes came back, knowing now that Clemont had a girlfriend.

"It was good, I guess." Clemont scratched the side of his head.

"Oh, come on! I saw you guys laughing and talking, you guys looked like you were having a fantastic time! Not a "good, I guess" time!" Ash walked over to Clemont.

"You think so? I just don't know if Korrina likes me, that's all..." Clemont lowered his head, staring down at the ground.

"Clemont, if Korrina didn't like you then why would she be dating you? Trust me, she really does like you- loves you." Ash comforted his friend.

"Thanks Ash." Clemont lifted his head back up, wearing a smile on his face.

After the talk that Ash and Clemont had, Clemont made breakfast. They had pancakes, sausage, and fruit.

Bonnie woke up, hyper as ever and talked to Calem about Korrina and Clemont the moment she sat down at the kitchen table. Clemont immediately scolded Bonnie and with Serena's approval, let Bonnie eat breakfast in the living room. Bonnie was pretty happy to say the least with the change in seating though.

Ash and Calem sat next to Serena, both trying to talk to her, but the other usually interrupted each other's conversations.

Calem started to compliment her on her performances. Ash saw Serena blush by the compliment, so he decided to compliment her on the delicious poke puffs she made.

"Thanks Ash." Serena turned over to him, blushing.

This made Calem instantly mad, so he continued to compliment her, Ash doing the same.

By the time breakfast was over, Serena was seriously confused. They kept talking to her for the rest of the morning and afternoon.
