One Shot 4: I'm Sorry
There wasn't a lot of explanation in this one shot, so I'm sorry about that, but other then that, I hope you can ignore the stupid things I put in here that made me cringe every time I went over it. 😂 The freaking Fangirl in me took over and added drama, so I'm sorry. *makes pouty face*

I'm Sorry

💙 Serena's P.O.V 💙
I couldn't believe it. How in the world did we even end up like this? Why couldn't I just tell him the truth? That he was the one I liked?
I buried my head into my hands and let more tears fall down my cheeks. My heart felt as if it was cracking, sending pain that made it ache. I should of just told him...
I looked back up from the palms of my hands again and gazed back into the forest, but then I heard a snap of a twig from the side of me and looked to the side.
"A-Ash?" I asked, but reached into one of the pockets of my vest.
There was no response, so I stood back up and pulled out my pokè balls that was in one of my pockets and got ready to press the button, but before I knew it, I saw seeds that were surrounded in a green aura head towards me, telling me that it was the move Seed Bomb, and I pressed the button to the pokè ball in my hand, but it was already too late.
⚡️ Ash's P.O.V ⚡️
"I can't believe I made her cry." I muttered, thinking back to when we both turned our backs to each other.
I shouldn't of got that mad over it. I made her cry because of something so stupid. I should of just stopped arguing over it. If she likes some guy, why should I care?
My mind went back to our fight. She said she likes some guy and I asked who it was. She wouldn't answer me and for some reason I got all angry.
"Pika." Pikachu said, jumping up on the bench I sat on and nuzzled my arm.
"Hey, Pikachu." I started to pet Pikachu in between the ears, my lips still forming a frown.
But then I saw Pikachu's ears twitch, and he turned back around towards the forest.
"Pika! Pikachu!" Pikachu exclaimed, jumping onto my lap.
"What is it?" I asked, turning over towards him, confused.
"Pika!" Pikachu yelled again and then pounced off my lap, running towards the forest.
"Hey, wait up!" I shouted, jumping up from the bench.
I ran after him, running into the forest, realizing that this was the direction that Serena went after we had the fight. I continued to follow Pikachu until I heard a large explosion. And then I heard a scream. A scream that sounded like Serena's.
I felt my heart stop and my eyes widen.
"SERENA!" I yelled and ran in the direction Pikachu was heading towards, running past him and making my way through the the forest.
My heart continued to beat against my chest so much that it started to hurt. My eyes soon came across something red and orange, until I realized it was a fire. The move flamethrower.
I looked over to where it was coming from and saw that it was used by Braixen. Serena's Braixen. I saw that it was looking at something, so I looked in that direction and found a Trevenant glaring at the Braixen with the same eyes.
I continued to look, seeing if Serena was anywhere until I finally caught something at the corner of eyes. I felt my heart stop and drop to my stomach, sending goosebumps up my arms as I looked to the other side of Braixen. Bullets seemed to go strait through my heart, damaging and making a rippling pain every time it thumped against my chest. I felt my blood leaving my face, leaving me pale. My eyes widened, time stopping itself as the scene played before me.
There, lying motionless on the forest floor, laid Serena. She had her eyes closed as her hat and arms were lazily laying there besides her.
Tears started to rise up to my eyelids as my memories flashed through my head, remembering when we had the fight and then finishing off to when I met her at Pokèmon Camp. The straw hat girl. The straw hat girl that's helped me through out my journey. The girl that I love.
Before I knew it, I was running towards her, tears now falling down my cheeks. I fell down on my knees and knelt down next to her, tears finally falling down next to me.
I put my hand under her head and pulled her towards me, my other arm wrapping around her shoulder.
"Serena! Serena, wake up... Please!" I yelled through sobs, my tears blurring my vision.
There was no response and my heart responded with another splintering crack that sent more tears to my eyes.
"Serena, please!" I continued to plead and pulled her close to me, so it was as if I was hugging her. "I'm sorry!"
Before I could do anything else, I saw Serena's eyelids start to move, my eyes widening as my heart and stomach fluttered.
Serena's eyes then opened and looked over at me, my whole body becoming frozen.
"Ash..." She mumbled and I saw tears start to form at the corners of her eyes.
"I'm sorry!" I continued. "I shouldn't of snapped like I did! I- I..." I trailed off and hugged Serena, tears streaming down my face and landing in her honey blond hair.
Then unexpectedly, Braixen was thrown by the Trevenant and rammed into a tree, falling back on her knees as she clenched her stick in her paws, glaring up at the Trevenant again and used another flamethrower which hit the pokèmon directly, sending Trevenant backwards, showing its burns.
"Braixen!" Serena jolted back as she heard the commotion and pulled away from the hug, looking over at her pokèmon, about to sit up, but then winced and held her knee.
"What's wrong?" I asked, letting go of her.
"I-it's my knee." She said, looking down at her knee and I saw that there was a large gash.
Before I could say anything, Trevenant used Shadow Ball and just barely missed Braixen, sending a wave of relief.
"Braixen, use Hidden Power!" Serena yelled unexpectedly.
Her Braixen then charged up Hidden Power and flung the move at the Trevenant, and hit the pokèmon's arm, leading it to yell out in pain.
"Pikachu, help them out with Electro Ball!" I shouted, turning over towards Pikachu who was already willing and eager to fight.
"Pika!" Pikachu yelled happily and jumped up into the air, a large, yellow orb made out of electricity hovering over its tail until Pikachu flung himself forward and let the Electro Ball run into the Trevenant.
Trevenant stood back up from the moves and was then surrounded with a purple and blue aura, wisps starting to surround it. The wisps then started to head towards us, but I realized it was heading towards Serena who wasn't able to move.
I then jumped in front of her and the wisps started to surround me, starting to move closer towards me until it touched my skin and I felt a burning sensation on where the wisps landed, leaving burn marks on my arms.
"Ash!" I heard Serena yell out in concern behind me, causing me to smile when I heard her concerned voice, for some reason giving me joy to know that she was worried.
"It's alright, Serena." I smiled, looking back over my shoulder at Serena who was looking at me with worried eyes, her hand placed over her heart, but then right after I said that, I felt the stinging pain from the will-o-wisp again, and I winced. "Let's just finish this." I said, looking over at Pikachu who had electricity dispersing from its cheeks.
I saw Serena nod lightly from the corner of my eye and she looked back over at Braixen. "Use flamethrower!" She commanded.
"Use thunderbolt!" I added.
Pikachu did as he was told and fired the thunderbolt, Braixen doing the same, but using flamethrower and the two moves ended up combining and hit Trevenant directly at its face, leading the Pokèmon to back away and run back into the brush of the forest, disappearing.
I grinned and turned back to Serena who smiled back.
Serena's Braixen ran up to her and hugged her, each one of them smiling as they hugged each other back.
I turned back over to Serena smiling, but then I felt a returning burning feeling in my arms, remembering the will-o-wisp, but I ignored it and walked over to Serena.
"Thanks so much Braixen. Return." Serena said, bringing out Braixen's pokè ball and retrieved her pokèmon.
As soon as Serena put Braixen back away in her pokeball, I asked, "Are you able to walk?"
I saw a frown replace Serena's smile and looked up at me. "I- I don't know." She replied, looking back down at her knee and then tried to push herself back up to her feet, but stopped and winced, the pain in her knee returning.
I was about to say something, when Serena interrupted me and said, "Wait, I can stand up." But, I don't know if she knew I heard or not, but I heard her mumble to herself, "Don't give up until the end."
She then tried to push herself up again, and she almost made it back on her feet when the pain was too much and she fell back down.
She was going to try again, when I stopped her and said, "Wait, I have an idea."
I walked over to her knee and reached into the pocket of my jeans and brought out a blue handkerchief, my memories flashing back to Summer Camp and nostalgia rushed through my heart, remembering the scene I wrapped it around her same knee years ago.
I wrapped the handkerchief around her knee, Serena biting her lip to try to keep from yelling out in pain, and I finished tying the handkerchief around her knee with a finishing knot around it and sat back up.
I then walked back over to Serena and picked her up bridal style, surprising Serena by the look on her face as I made sure to grab Serena's hat, and I stood back up.
"A-Ash, I- I could of stood up myself, you know." Serena said, looking away to keep her eyes from meeting mine, her cheeks burning a bright red, which I always found cute.
"Wrap your arms around my neck." I said flatly, but Serena almost fell out of my arms from the remark.
"W-what?" She asked, looking up at me as if I was crazy. "Why?"
"Because you're going to need hold on." I smiled.
"O-okay." Serena stuttered and hesitantly wrapped her arms around my neck, her cheeks still the color of a rose.
I then turned around from where I came from and began to run in that direction, Pikachu following as Serena gave a small scream and, she tightened her grip around my neck, leading me smile.
"I told you that you would need to hold on." I laughed, but Serena continued to hold on as she continued wear a frantic expression on her face.
I eventually made my way out of the forest and rushed over towards the near by Pokèmon Center, rushing to Nurse Joy who took Serena and treated we knee as Wigglytuff took care of my burns.
When the pokèmon were done treating my arms, she sent me back out to front desk of the Pokèmon Center. That's where I found Serena with the handkerchief actually still wrapped around her knee, talking to Bonnie and Clemont.
"Where did you and Ash go!?" Bonnie asked, flailing her arms up in the air.
"We went to go look for you two after you got in the fight, but we couldn't find you anywhere." Clemont stated as he fixed his glasses.
"Hey, isn't that Ash's handkerchief that he lent you?" Bonnie asked, pointing over at Serena's knee.
"Oh... Yeah." Serena said, looking down at her knee.
"Hey, guys!" I yelled across the front of the Pokèmon Center and everyone turned back to look over at me.
"Ash!" Bonnie exclaimed and rushed over to me. "Where were you!?"
"I just left for for like, ten minutes." I sweat dropped.
"No it wasn't! You guys were gone for about forty minutes! I was afraid you guys left and continued on your separate journeys and left me with Clemont too!" Bonnie pouted, giving me a disappointed look.
"Sorry about that." I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I'm just glad that you guys didn't." Clemont said, walking over to me and Bonnie with Serena following.
"I would never abandon you guys." I replied smiling.
"Yeah, why would you guys think that?" Serena giggled.
"Still." Bonnie crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks.
"Anyways," I held out Serena's hat in front of me. "You forgot your hat."
"Oh. Thank-" Serena stopped as she went to go reach for the hat out of my hand, but I pulled it away from her grasp, and I instead, placed it on top of her head myself.
I put my hands back at my sides and looked at Serena. Her cheeks started to glow a bright pink that was noticeable a mile away, and she looked up at me, her blue eyes looking into mine.
I smiled and she buried her head in her shoulders, looking down at her feet as her cheeks seemed to redden.
"We should get going. We don't want to be late for your next gym battle, Ash." Clemont smiled.
"Yeah! Maybe I can find a girl for Clemont there!" Bonnie exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
"Eh-" Clemont's cheeks flushed red as he hesitantly looked down at his sister. "Bonnie! What did I tell you about that!?"
"By now, pretty much everything," Bonnie smirked. "But it's not going to stop me from finding you a waifu."
"OKAY. THAT'S IT!" Clemont yelled, his Aipom arm coming out from his backpack and grabbing Bonnie the back of her shirt.
He then ran out of the Pokèmon Center, leaving me and Serena watching the two, both of us sweat dropping as we watched.
I looked over at Serena, finding myself not able to talk for some reason.
"Serena?" I asked, my throat starting to clog, but I tried to keep my cool.
"Yes, Ash?" Serena looked over at me, my heart seeming to stop.
"About what you said earlier... I won't try to beg for an answer this time, but... Who do you like?"
Serena looked at me in surprise and stuttered, "J-Just a boy I know."
"But who is he?" I frowned as I felt my heart fall to my stomach from when she admitted she had a crush on someone.
"Uh-" Serena looked away. "Just a boy I know from childhood."
My frown deepened. Someone in her neighborhood maybe? An old friend that she knows. Maybe even Tierno? Oh, please no. Anyone, but him.
I was about to tell Serena that we should go after Clemont and Bonnie when Serena turned back over to me and asked, "Do you like anyone?"
"I- uh... N-no." I lied, giving a nervous smile to the girl I love.
"Oh." Serena looked down at her feet with a frown.
"Now come on. We don't want Clemont beating us to Snowbelle City." I laughed and took Serena's hand.
I ran out of the Pokèmon Center as I dragged her along. I looked over my shoulder, and I saw that Serena's face was as red as a ruby, looking down at our hands wrapped around each others. I smiled as I thought of how cute she was when she did that and continued to chase after Clemont and Bonnie who were waiting for us at the beginning of route 19. Next gym battle, here I come!
