It was a cold windy night, clouds were clearing in the dark sky, the streetlight gleamed down the quite streets of Vanville.

We now set at a big house. Inside a dark bedroom room. There was a short honey blond hair girl. Hiding underneath the bed. Her expression looked scared, eyes were terror, her body was shaking lightly feeling the coldness around the room.

Suddenly the front door smashed open, revealing a shadowy tall man, in his hand was a bottle of whisky taking a quick sip and smashed it on the floor with glass scattering around, slowly entering the house. The room was dark, so he switched the light on and entered the living room.

Under the bed, the honey-blond hair girl was really scared, breathing quietly as she was hiding under the bed. However, the drunken man was coming up the stairs with each step creaking it's way up, finally reaching the top and enters the dark room looking around.

"Serena girl. w-where are you, come play with your f-father" the man drunkly said. As he walks around the room with each step slowly thudding the floor.

Under the bed the honey blond Serena was quite, her heart was beating like a drum and a cold sweat slides from her left forehead to the bottom chin.

Soon after, the drunk man went towards the bed quickly grabbing the blanket and flung it across the room.

Serena heart was beating rapidly a shiver went up to her spine, gulping quietly under the bed.

The man turned around facing away from the bed. Serena thought he was leaving. However, the man swiftly crouched down into his knees facing his wide eyes daughter making her spook in fright.

"Hello sere" the man creepily said. crouching down on the floor.

Serena was about to escape but the man quickly grabbed her hand, pulling the girl up and throws her across the room making a hard thud when Serena lands on a laminate floor, and starts walking towards his daughter.

Serena felt pain after the throw. she was just about to get up placing her hand on the knee for support but the man grabbed her hair making Serena feel pain and scared, as she tried mustering to speak.

"p-p-please, f-father, d-dont do this" Serena said, hot tears falling out from her sapphire eyes.

the man laughs "heh, ME!, stop! nonsense. you did this to me!, you made me like this!" he barked to Serena's face, with spit coming out from his mouth as he spoke. there was even the smell of alcohol.

Suddenly, the man swiftly punch really hard to his daughter stomach, deeping it.
Serena eyes widen and gasped for air, then looks at her father pleading to stop. But no and kept on punching again to the stomach as he repeats on and on, constantly.

Serena felt every pain, she wanted it to stop but didn't have the power to do it. she wanted everything to go back to normal, the way it used to be, away from this nightmare! the reason why her father's action was because her mother, Grace, who died from a horrible car accident.

before they were a happy family with no problems, arguments and issues. but that's when the family's life changed upside down. After Grace died Serena's father lost his job and started drinking alcohol. Afterwards, he goes home and starts beating up his daughter. Days went to week, weeks to month, months to years.

The man stopped beating his daughter and lets go of the hair making her drop to ground, hitting the floor hard.

Serena laid down sideways with pain filling in her stomach, clutching it with A little blood came out from the side mouth. Her vision became blurry only seeing a foot from the man while her breathing was getting low, gasping a little air. then her eyes turned black.

Next day

The Sun rose from the horizon. shining the day in Kalos. birds were flying in the clear blue skies. shops began to open in the street.

We now head over to a house, inside the bedroom where a girl was lying on the floor, who now begins to wake up.

Serena's eyes opened slowly up, her vision was blurry at first but quickly changed into clear, and sat up, putting her hand on top of her forehead, feeling a little dizzy but shook it off. She looked around the room, no sight of her father.

Realising it was morning, Serena stood up but felt pain on her stomach So she ignored it and got ready for school.

When taking her clothes off infront of a long yet small cracked mirror. There were bruises on her arms and some scars on her back.

After that, she quietly went downstairs, when reaching down. she looks around, her surrounding, no sight of her father so she goes to kitchen making breakfast for herself, quickly eating up rice crispies from the bowl and walks out the door silently by locking it.

Serena walks down the quite street, heading to school while her head was down, not paying attention ahead. Without realising, she bumped into a person making her fall as the pain came back, she tried to ignore but it was too much.

On the other hand, the person that bumped Serena, has fallen aswell, he looked over to see she was in pain. so he quickly stood up and went to her with a worried expression.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry, are you alright" the person said in a worry tone.

Serena manages to look up, in her sea blue eyes saw a teenage boy, his eyes were auburn, skin tanned, both cheeks had z marks on them. The boy wore a blue jacket with white stripes, grey trousers and red sneakers. The expression on his face was worried and offered his hand out for her. Serena was uneased remembering the past about her father beat ups and abusing. but shook it off to forget them.

Serena stared at the open gesture of the boy, before slowly slipping her hand onto his. the boy gives a hard tug, pulling Serena up, but ended up pulling too hard causing Serena fall against the boy in a hug position. Placing her head on his shoulder which felt comfortable and warm.

Serena was surprised leaning against the boy, a feeling inside made her warm and safe while her cheeks were going red but manages to pull back and stare at the boys auburn eyes.

"Are you ok, I'm very sorry, I wasn't paying attention" he said, apologetically.

"N-No, its fine, really" Serena squeaked.

The boy looks at Serena and smiles "Oh ok, my names Ash nice to me"

Serena looks at Ash's face with a blush " N-Nice to meet you t-to, my name is Serena"

"Serena eh, that's a cute name" he smiles, tilting his head a little by closing his eyes with a wide smile.

"Um, t-thank you. Ash" Serena said while her face was going red and looks down, hiding the embarrassment, which He did not notice her blush and ignores.

"Um, can you show me where vanville high is" Ash question her, placing his hand on the back of the head and sweat-drops with a nervous laugh. "I'm new to this region"

"That's my high school, I'll take you there" Serena said with a smile.

"Great" Ash replied, fist pumping in the air. Serena stare for a moment and giggles.

The two start to walk, heading to school down the street.
On the left side, Ash was happy, that he already made a first friend, starting a new school but deep inside there was feeling he never felt before.

On the right side, Serena was even more happy, she too made a first friend, also she finds the boy cute she thought.

Finally, they arrived at school. As students were going inside the building. Ash walked through the gate first, but stopped in his tracks because Serena was not beside him. He turned around only to see her outside of the gate with a scared expression.

Ash didn't know why she was acting like this, it was the first time. Inside it made the raven boy worried for some reason.

"Serena, are you alright" Ash said in a worried tone, looking at her outside the gate with a concerned expression.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine" Serena said, shoving the expression aside and walks past the gate.

The two went together. Heading towards the school building and enter through the door.

Moment they entered, Serena walked to her class followed by Ash. They arrived at a English classroom as Serena walked in and quickly walked to the back of the classroom. However, Ash started to get curious, not that Serena walked at the back. It was the students, they didn't even notice she walked in the classroom.

Ash took a step in the class making the students now focused on him as he enters, then a teacher came through the door.

"Ah, you must be new student, my name is professor Sycamore your english teacher, will you like to introduce to the class" the teacher asked.

Ash nodded and stood infront.

"Hi, my name is Ash Ketchum, nice to meet you all" he greeted to all the students in class with a wide smile.

the girls started to like him getting compliments adjectives from their own heads. the boys thought he looks cool to be their friend.

"So Ash, since you're new, you can sit wherever you want" Prof Sycamore asked to him.

Ash smiles and looked around the class. some students were desperate to sit next him. However, he already has someone to sit.

Ash walked to the backroom ignoring other students that he went past and sat next to Serena who was surprised with a blush increasingly formed on her face that looked like a cherry, while the girls were getting seriously jealous.

Professor Sycamore smiled and spoke out "Ok class. lets get on with the lesson"

Eventually, it was now hometime for the students. Ash and Serena head out last and started to head home with bright smiles on their faces.

The two had a great day. Ash sat next to Serena in every class, which made her happy. At lunchtime, they had lunch together outside of school, sitting on wooden benches and chatted with each other.

The sun began to sunset as the two were now near to Serena house.
A shiver went up to Serena's spine. The pain was coming back and her mind began to flood through her father beatings. She held her stomach, closing her eyes tight. wishing for the pain to stop but it didn't.

"Serena"

Serena opened her eyes and looked up to see Ash with a worried look.

"Serena, are you ok," Ash asked, placing his hand on her shoulder.

Serena flinches a little, trying to hide her pain but Ash notices. He didn't know why she flinched but spoke to find out.

"Serena, what wrong" Ash asked as he tried to question her once more. However, Serena ignored and shook Ash's hand away from her shoulder and ran straight towards her house, she could hear Ash callling her name but ignores it.

She opened the door and slams it behind, then ran upstairs, entering her room and cries with tears coming out from her blue eyes on the bed.

With Ash, he was confused of her action before walking off to his own house. however, his mind had so many questions about Serena. Why did she run off? Why did she flinch?

Next day

it was now a bright morning in kalos as the sun rose from the horizon with the birds flying high and citizens began opening their shops, going to work.

Serena woke up from her bed and gets ready for school. Luckily, Her father didn't came that night to beat her.

After she got ready, she went downstairs and prepared breakfast for herself again. She finishes and went to school by walking.

As she arrives, Serena looked around the playground to find Ash but didn't see him anywhere in her sight.

She went through the gate before a shiver went up but Serena ignores it and enter the school building, going to class and enters. It was still the same as yesterday. The students were still ignoring her while entering. It's been going on about a year now. However, what got her thinking was only Ash, he didn't arrive at school and in class. was he late or something. She thought. Serena felt lonely without him like a girl getting lost in a deep dark forest.

Soon it was now lunch time. Students began to enter the canteen getting thier lunch while Serena went outside, sitting down on one of the wooden benches that her and Ash seated yesterday. To tell you truth; it was the most fun time she had in her whole life.

Suddenly, a group of students walked up to her and jerked her lunch away. Serena looked up and saw her worst nightmare. Oh no

"well,well,well. if it isnt serena malena" the blue haired spoke and laughs hysterically with her friends.

Serena stood up from the bench, about to walk off but someone pushes her back making her fall to the concrete ground with a grunt.

Serena tried to get up but felt great pain on her knee as hot tears began to form in her eyes and Whimpers quietly.

"aww, is she crying like a baby" someone said in a teasing tone and starts to laugh, even the group did the same. Serena tears were now sliding down from her watery eyes uncontrollably.

" you know, I'm gonna have fun with you" a boy spoke and was about to punch her with force.
Serena closed her eyes waiting for impact but it didn't came. she heard a loud thump and smack.

Serena slowly opened her blue eyes and saw what was unexpected.

The person she saw was none other than Ash Ketchum. who was beating up the bullies. there were boys on the floor grunting in pain while some ran away.

Ash gave one last hard hook to the person making him fall to the ground unconsious. he glances around to see anymore which there was none and walks up to Serena, offering his hand.

Serena grabs his hand but Ash pulls her  up from the concrete ground making her fall on him, again, with Her head landing on his shoulder. A hot blush formed across her pale cheeks. That warm feeling ignites inside. The one she has been looking for: Love.

Serena pulled back to see Ash who had a worried look on his face. Which makes her happy inside that He was concerned and scared.

"Serena did they hurt you" Ash asked in a worried tone. Serena smiles a little and nods as Ash gave a signed of relief.
But what he didn't know was his arms around Serena waist, with their body touching each other of how close their faces were.

Ash was lost in Serena's blue shining eyes. They so beautiful- no, majestic - no wait, amazing. Lots of adjectives compliment flew in his mind. Soon he spoke.

"Serena" he spoke, his breath hitches onto her soft lips.

"Y-Yes, A-Ash" she spoke, gazing at Ash's auburn eyes, inside she felt loved like all her pain was drifting away in the ocean. Staring at her crush felt complete to her even when they are closing in.

"Your eyes, If I were a tear drop... I would be born in your eyes... live on your cheeks... and die on your lips." He randomly compliment, With each word hitches his breath on her soft pink lips.  Serena heard this, a blush rose all over her face like a pecha berry.

They looked on into each other's eyes and suddenly moved their head from Cm to MM.

Ash slowly tilts his head and closed his auburn eyes while leaning in, taking out a warm shallow breath from his mouth.
Even Serena does the same. Slowly Putting her arms around Ash's neck, moving closer. A tingle feeling went inside her and excitement swelled in.

The two amours were closing in.

School bell rang loud at the playground. The two shot opened their eyes and blushed fully on how close they were, their nose past but lips were some inches apart.
They quickly moved away from each other and looked around feeling embarrassed.

Ash face was blushed hard, he turns slightly and spoke with a shaky voice.
"U-uh um, W-we sh-should get g-going" when saying this, disappointment swelled in even for Serena, she really wanted her first kiss to be Ash but the bell interrupted.

Ash shoved the embarrassment away and smiles at her as the two walked inside the school building with beating hearts.

In all lesson Ash sat next to Serena like a bodyguard. which she liked and they start to walk together in every class.

It was now home time with the sun setting the day. The two began to head home and waved goodbye too each other. however in thier minds they both love each other to bits and pieces.

Some days have now past. In school times, Ash always sat next to Serena, to keep her company from trouble and harm which she liked about him.
They would always have time at lunch sitting down on wooden benches while talking to each other.

They even went to the city mall. Which Serena thought it was date. Although what she couldn't do was the courage, she loved Ash with every heart and soul, but didn't have the bravery to confess.

Same goes for Ash, he loves Serena, her beautiful smile, kindness and cuteness too. however in these past days. Serena's father began beating her up, there was bruises on her arm, leg and stomach. she hid all these marks from Ash. Serena didn't want her crush to get involved and hurt in her own mess.

It was now morning time as Serena was walking down the streets to school wearing a warm jumper, when arriving, she saw Ash waiting at the gate.

Serena smiles and walks up to him. "Hey Ash "

Ash turns his head to see serena and smiles back "Hey sere"

Ash was about to question her jumper when unexpectedly he saw a scratch on Serena's neck.

He carefully grabbed Serena's hand, stopping her tracks making her flinches in pain, however Ash notices this again.
he walk up to her and rolls her sleeve, Serena tried to speak up to stop but couldn't let the words come out.

When Ash rolls her sleeve up a little. His face went shocked on what he saw. On Serena's arm were bruises and marks. he rolls again to see more bruises, a little bigger than others.

"Serena.. who did this" Ash venomly asked with rage started to fill up in his body and hand turn into a fist making a cracking sound showing white knuckles out the skin.

"N-no one" Serena said, shooking off Ash grip and runs away from him, entering the school.

Ash stood there wondering who did bruises and the marks on her. But there was one rule on his mind; no one hurts Serena.

"I'll find out Serena" he murmured to himself, walking to the entrance and entered.
When arriving at the hallway, Ash went straight to class, as he arrives, Serena was sitting alone in the back row. Ash went to sit next to her but she shifted away from him. Ash was now curious of her action.

"Serena, tell me, who did it"

Serena ignores and faced away from him. Ash was about to speak up but was interrupted by the teacher who starts the lesson.

"Class get your books out"

Ash glance at Serena and takes out a book from the bag while Serena kept looking away, ignoring her crush.

It was now end of school. Serena was ignoring Ash throughout the day at class and lunchtimes. She wanted to tell her crush the truth but she doesn't want him to get involved.

Serena was now walking home alone, going straight to her house however what she didn't know was Ash following her behind.

When she arrives at her house, she opened the door, closing it behind before entering. Ash hides behind the wall and watches on wanting to know the truth.

As night time fall, Ash was still watching on, nothing has happened to Serena, but there were thoughts about her, does she make those bruises and marks by herself.

Ash shook off the thought when suddenly he saw a man entering towards Serena house, drunkly. Ash was curious at first when seeing a man enter then, he hears a shout and smashes inside the house.

Ash hurried towards the house and bangs hard on the door, no answer. Suddenly a loud scream was heard coming from inside, Ash knew who it was as his heart pounded hard with every beat. He steps back and rammed through the door breaking the lock.
before entering. He looks around and shouts her name.

"SERENA" he called out and went to each room of the house downstairs, until he heard his name shout out.

"ASH" a girl screamed, coming from upstairs.

Ash immediately heard the voice and rushed through upstairs without wasting time as he arrives, he went straight to the room. Barging in and saw a man beating a girl.

"SERENA" Ash shouted and ran straight towards the man in anger, giving him a punch to the face, who was caught off guard as he falls to ground, touching his face in pain. Ash ignored him and went straight to Serena.

"Serena, are you ok" Ash asked mother concerned with a worrying look.

Serena looks with a smile, seeing her crush, but then saw her father getting up from the ground and ran straight towards Ash. 

"ASH LOOK OUT!" Serena shouted in concern.

Ash looked behind to see Serena's father who was about to punch him, Ash tried to block but too late as the punch connected his left jawline making Ash fall sideways to ground  feeling the pain from the punch.

"You shouldn't came you stupid boy" the man replied. He walks up to Ash, about to punch him. Ash quickly counters it and gives a hook to the man's face making him fall again.

Ash stood up and ran to the man. Giving hard punches to face repeatedly. Blood were coming out from the man's broken nose and face. After that, he went out cold, unconscious on the laminate floor.

Ash stopped punching as he Breaths heavily with red hands from the man's blood.

Ash stood up from the ground and went to Serena. unexpectedly, he picked her up in bridal style who gave out a yelp and blushed. Walking downstairs and Entered the living room, Ash carefully layed Serena on the sofa comfortably and called the police on phone. Soon, they arrived at their house and arrested Serena's father for the crime.

Ash went to Serena who still lying on the sofa. but when he got there, she was sleeping in peace. Ash smiles and thought she looked cute. Although, there one thing on his mind that needed to be spoken out; should he confess or not?

He shook Serena gently making her wake up. when she did, she saw Ash sitting beside her. Serena was about to speak up but Ash beat her to it.

"Look..er Serena. I-I have to tell you something" he said nervously while Serena looked on, wandering what he's going to say.

Ash took deep breath and spoke "Serena, I love you" he confessed. Closing his eyes while saying but he didn't hear a single word.

He slowly opens his eyes to see Serena crying infront of him with tears sliding down on her red cheeks.

"Serena w.." Ash was cut off from the kiss thrown from Serena.
He was shocked at first but gave it return with passion. Lips connected and tongues fighting with pleasure between the two lovers. Then they separated, getting air from the kiss and looked at each other with big smiles on thier face.

"I love you Serena"
