Before I start, I'm just letting you know this is based on actual events that happened in the anime but some are made up. I also really like the AMV above so I decided to make a One Shot inspired by it.

It was relatively late in the afternoon. The Winter Sun was on the horizon and the sky that was once clear and deep blue was now of an Orange hue. A flock of Fletchlings and Spritzees could be seen hurriedly flying towards Santalune Forest. All Serena could do was marvel at the sight through the large windows of Lumiose City Airport. She was broken out of the trance by a sudden announcement.

"Dragonair Airways Flight 2710 from Viridian Airport has just landed at Lumiose City Airport." announced the Tannoy system.

Serena's heart skipped a beat when she heard it. She didn't waste a single moment and ran straight to the waiting area. She spotted an empty bench right in front of a pair of escalators and took a seat.

Serena was wearing black skinny jeans that stopped right above her ankles. She was wearing white Vans and a plain white shirt that wasn't too tight or too loose. She was wearing a red and white baseball cap. Her hair was a lot longer that it was 5 years ago. She let it flow freely. She still had the blue ribbon though. She thought wearing it wouldn't be convenient as she would have to keep changing clothes so she now used it as a bracelet. This meant that she could always have the ribbon with her. She also had a pair of sunglasses on as she tried her best to blend into the crowd. Being the Kalos Queen, she would immediately be swarmed by fans if they found out that she was here.

As she sat down, waiting for him to arrive, she felt a bit lonely so she let out Sylveon. She thought releasing Delphox or Pangoro might intimidate people, so she stuck with the Fairy type. Sylveon is the only Pokemon she had that hadn't changed/evolved since they parted ways 5 years ago. It remained as the sign for her friendship with the group. The group of Her, Bonnie, Clemont and Ash.

Serena started thinking about the promise they made in front of Reflection Cave. She had made Ash promise that they would always be together and travel together. Ash had finally returned from the other dimension and she was caught in the heat of the moment which made her ask that. Serena was extremely happy and she know that making promises while being happy, or angry, was never a good thing. She, herself, sighed at her own recklessness. She was too young and too caught up in the moment to make such promises.

Serena then started reminiscing about the moments she had shared with Ash. The good times they spent together. She had spent an awful lot of time with him and none of them stood out to her as each and every single one of them were equally special to her. However, there were some extra special moments during their journey that she couldn't help but cherish.

During Prof. Sycamore's Summer Camp, she remembered how her and Ash had shared their hopes and dreams with each other. Of course, she wasn't sure what her dreams were but Ash stood by her and helped her figure it out. Then there was the 'date' in Coumarine City. She fondly remembers it was the day Ash gave her the ribbon. The ribbon had been her source of strength and inspiration throughout the last 5 years.

Serena then thought about the day when Ash got sick. She thought Ash was going to confess to her in front of everybody that day... of all the things he could have said, he said Iron Tail. Though she still can't help but get embarrassed but the fact that she wore Ash's clothes that day. Then came the day she had a fight with Ash. She knew Ash needed help that day, but Ash wouldn't let anybody near him and yelled at her. She got frustrated and flipped at Ash. She would have preferred if that moment hadn't taken place, however, if anything, she thought it strengthened the bond between her and Ash.

After the incident with Team Flare, Serena knew she was under a lot of pressure. She didn't know what she wanted to do. That was when Ash had asked her to hang out with him. Serena didn't realise it at that moment, however, Ash had noticed that she was troubled by something and Ash had tried to cheer her up back then. She remembered how he took her to a walk throughout the city and even took her Window Shopping. She thought it was really sweet of him but it hadn't helped her. That battle with Ash, however, set everything straight for Serena. She knew exactly what she wanted to do... and it was mostly thanks to Ash's selfless gestures that day.

Serena then lifted her head a little as she saw people ascending from the escalator. Her eyes then suddenly widened with realisation. She observed the two escalators in front of her and knew exactly where she was. It was a exact same place, where 5 years ago, she had kissed Ash. She couldn't help but smile and blush at the thought of that moment.

Ash had promised that he would come back for her when she fulfilled her dream of becoming Kalos Queen. She let Ash know that the next time they meet, she would be a lot better, just for him.

As Serena was thinking about moments she shared with Ash in this very airport, a trainer wearing a blue Jacket with black trousers and black boots ran up the escalators. As soon as he got to the top, he saw Serena. His eyes widened and a wide grin broke out on his face.

"Serena!!" he called out and ran up to her. Serena looked up and her eyes widened too and a smile grew on her face.

"Calem!!" she took off her sunglasses and exclaimed happily as she was tackled to a hug by him. She hugged back as they remained in a hug until they both pulled apart.

Serena was about to speak when she was immediately tackled into a hug again. This time, it was a lot smaller. It was a yellow ball of fur with red cheeks and long ears. Serena knew this creature all too well.

"Pikachu!!" she exclaimed. Her voice getting squeaky towards the end of the phrase due to excitement.

Serena held her arms underneath Pikachu as Pikachu stood on them on his hind legs and hugged Serena tightly with his fore legs while cooing with delight. Serena was smiling down at the little Pokemon but immediately turned around to face a voice all too familiar to her.

"I see you two have found her before I did." said the voice while chuckling a little.

As Serena faced the owner of the voice, her jaw dropped. She looked at the boy in front of him, inspecting him from toe to head. He was wearing black desert boots with a pair of slim Khaki trousers. He had a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the top button undone complementing his muscular physique. He had the same wild raven hair but without a hat now. He was also a lot taller now, around a whole foot taller than Serena. He was just standing there giving Serena a goofy grin.

Serena just stood there gawking at him. Inappropriate thoughts bombarded Serena's mind as she could feel a nose bleed coming and felt her face heating up. She immediately shook her head to get rid of those thoughts. 'NO! Bad Serena!' she thought to herself.

"Pikapi!" said Pikachu as he leapt off Serena's arms and jumped onto his trainer's shoulder.

Serena then broke out of her thoughts. "ASH!!" she screamed with joy before jumping straight into Ash's arms. Serena hugged Ash tightly while Ash embraced her back. Serena tightly closed her eyes as she dug her head deeper into Ash's chest. She had a huge blush and a wide grin as she did so. Ash couldn't help but smile at Serena, after all, he had waited all these years just he see her again. Neither one of them wanted to let go of each other, but they knew they had to. Calem just watched those two with a smile on his face. Delia had adopted Calem 3 years ago. Calem was 5 years younger than Ash and looked up to him as a source of his inspiration... after all, who wouldn't look up to the Kanto Champion? Ash had introduced Calem to Serena through video calls. They seem to get along quite well with each other.

"Long time no see! So, how're you doing Serena?" asked Ash while looking down into Serena's Cerulean yeah. He had missed looking into those eyes of her a lot.

Serena looked up to meet his Auburn eyes staring at her and she was really flustered now and couldn't think even straight. She tried to decide between saying 'I'm good' and 'I'm OK' but she messed it all up.

"I-I'm Gay!" said Serena. Now she knew she really messed up.

Calem was now on the floor laughing while Ash just stood there with a confused expression.

"No, Ash! I meant I'm good! I'm OK! I'm doing great!" said Serena panicked, trying to correct her mistake while vigorously shaking her hands in front of her. 'Oh great... now Ash thinks I'm an idiot' she thought.

Calem had stopped laughing and Ash sighed a breath of relief. He then tensed up a little again before continuing.

"So... you aren't Gay... right?" asked Ash before continuing. "Not that theres anything wrong with it!".

Serena giggle at Ash behaviour before saying "No, of course not, silly!"

Ash then stared at the giggling Serena. He had missed her a lot. Ash didn't want to take his eyes off her. Serena had stopped giggling and had realised that Ash was staring at her. Hey face heated up again but she couldn't help but stare back at Ash. The two were looking deep into each other's eyes. There was silence and the trance was finally broken when Calem spoke up.

Calem had been completely ignored from the moment Ash and Serena met each other. He pouted at this fact. Although he was very happy for the two of them, he was very tired and needed to go to a hotel. He knew Serena lived in Vaniville and it would take a long time to reach there and it was already dark so he spoke up.

"I think we need to get going now. I know a nice hotel around here which should be OK for tonight."

Calem was a Kalos native before Delia adopted him. He was only 11 when he left Kalos to live with Delia three years ago. Calem's home was in Lumiose City so he knew a lot about the city.

Ash and Serena agreed to Calem's suggestion as they took a taxi to a relatively nice hotel. Its not as if they couldn't afford the best Hotel in town. Ash and Serena were both rich because of their occupation. They avoided large hotels as the Paparazzi liked hanging out around those areas. "The Kalos Queen spotted with the Kanto Champion!" would be quite a saucy headline for tomorrow's newspaper.

They arrived at the hotel and Calem told Ash and Serena to wait at the lobby as he would go book the rooms. As he haid that, he had a mischievous smirk on his face. Calem returned moments later with two keys in his hands. Ash and Serena both noticed this and decided to voice their concern.

"Why do you only have 2 keys Calem? If you didn't have enough cash for 3, you could have just asked me!" said Ash.

"Its not that. They only had 2 rooms left." replied Calem.

"Well, in that case, we'll have to share a room and give Serena the other key." said Ash to Calem.

"I don't mind sharing a room with you bro but..." Calem stopped.

"But what?" Serena asked. Ash was a bit nervous about what Calem would say next.

"But the other room is a Couples' Suite and I won't feel comfortable sleeping with you in that room!" explained Calem.

Ash tried to calm down. He then suggested "Then we'll let Serena sleep in the Couples' Suite by herself and I'll sleep in the room with you." said Ash.

Calem was cursing Ash's resilience. He still had a plan though. "The other room is only a single bed though!" he said.

Ash's face now heated up. "Then I'll sleep on the floor!" continued Ash.

Serena, who had been watching the brothers bicker immediately spoke up without thinking. "No Ash, you know how cold it gets in Kalos during Winter. Especially at night! You're sleeping with me today!" She blurted everything out quickly. After realising what she had said, her eyes widened, her face went a deep shade of crimson and she covered her mouth with her hands. Although she didn't mind Ash sleeping with her, infact, the thought of it excited her, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed at what she had just said.

Ash's face was completely red too after hearing what Serena had just said. Calem on the other hand was sniggering and smirking because his plan was going so well. Ash then started talking.

"N-No Serena, I'll be fine on the floor!" he managed to say.

Serena looked a bit disappointed and dropped her head to look at her feet after Ash said that. Calem, however immediately whispered into Ash's ear.

"You know, if you don't sleep with her, I will. I'm sure she won't mind." he whispered while giving Ash a mischievous smile.

"You wouldn't dare!" Ash whispered back.

"Just watch me!" whispered Calem as he started walking towards Serena. He then started talking.

"Hey Serena, If you don't mi-" however, Calem was cut off by Ash.

"Serena, I'll sleep with you. I-If you're o-ok with i-i-it." said Ash. He was now as red as a Tomatoberry. After hearing what Ash said, Serena immediately shot her head up and looked at Ash. She blushed a deep shade of red along with Ash as Calem watched in satisfaction.

Ash was startled by Serena's actions so he continued. "S-Sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I'll sleep in the lobby i-" Ash was then cut off by Serena.

"I don't mind!" said Serena while slightly smiling at Ash. He was showing his king, caring and selfless nature that Serena adored so much.

"If you say so!" said Ash as he smiled back at her.

Calem was now completely satisfied. Ash had done so much for him and this was the least he could do for Ash. Calem knew how much Serena meant to ASh. He wouldn't shut up about her. Calem watched the scene unfold in front of him with a smile.

"Here, take this." said Calem as he threw the room key to Ash. "I'm tired. I'm going to my room now. See you two love birds tomorrow!" said Calem as he sprinted up a set of stairs towards his room.

"CALEM!!" shouted Ash. Ash blushed again. He knew he had never blushed as many times as he had today.

Serena was also blushing slightly but started giggling at the relationship between the siblings.

After everything was settled, Ash and Serena headed to their room. The opened the room to see a King size bed right in the middle of the room. There were dressers and wardrobes on one side while there was an en-suite toilet and bathroom on the other side. A large wall mounted TV was placed in front of the bed. There was a huge window on the wall opposite to the bed.

The fact that the hotel was located on top of a small hill and the fact that their room was on the top floor meant that they could see the whole of Lumiose City with the Prism tower right in the middle it through the window. It was a beautiful and Ash noticed Serena's eyes light up at the sight of it. Ash smiled at the sight of Serena. Serena quickly looked up at Ash as she was about to ask something but noticed smiling down at her. Ash quickly shot his head away and tried to act like he was just looking around... but it was too late. All Serena could do was giggle a little and smile a but wider.

After they got settled and changed, Ash and Serena were both stood at the foot of the bed. They were both nervous. It was an awkward silence. Ash then spoke up.

"You can take the bed Serena, I'll sleep on the floor."

"I already said no to that Ash. If you feel uncomfortable sleeping with me, I'll sleep on the floor!" said Serena.

Ash couldn't let that happen so he then continued.

"So... which side do you want?" he asked.

Serena was completely red now as it dawned upon her that she would now be sharing a bed with Ash Ketchum. "I-I don't m-mind. Y-You can choose." said Serena.

"Ok" said Ash as he jumped onto the left side of the bed. Serena then got into the right side. She then turned off the lights from her side of the bed.

"Good night!" said Serena.

"Good night." replied Ash.

The two were in the same bed but were sleeping really far away from each other. Ash and Serena were right on the edge of their respective sides of the bed. This left a gap in the duvet they were sharing and cold air could get in. Neither Ash, no Serena could fall asleep because of the cold. Serena finally broke the silence.

"Ash?"

"Yes Serena?" he replied.

"I'm cold." she said.

"Me too." Ash replied.

Serena face palmed at Ash's denseness. She thought Ash had gotten completely over it, but looks like there was still a hint of it left. Serena decided that she had to take the initiative.

"Can we c-cuddle?" asked Serena while facing Ash. He face was now lava red. Thankfully, it was dark and Ash didn't see it.

As soon as Serena said that, Ash's eyes shot open. He turned around to face Serena to find her already facing him.

"Y-Yeah. If you want to." Ash managed to say as he scooted closer to Serena while Serena did the same.

Eventually they were close enough to each other. Serena than wrapped her hands around Ash while she buried her face in his chest. Serena blushed furiously and so did Ash. Ash then rested his chin above Serena's head while he wrapped his hands around Serena's waist. Serena flinched at the gesture so Ash started moving his hands back but was stopped.

"No, don't worry, it feels nice." said Serena placing his hands on her waist. Ash placed his hands on her waist and polled her closer to him and Serena tightened her hug around Ash. Both Ash's and Serena's blushes had died down as they both embraced the comfortable warmth radiated by each other. There were small smiles on both their faces.

After about 5 minutes, Ash had assumed Serena had fallen asleep. He thought about what had just happened and a wide smile grew on his face. He then slowly whispered "I love you, Serena."

Serena, however, was anything but asleep. As soon as he heard what Ash had said, she sat up. She tried to comprehend what just happened. 'Ash confessed to me! The boy I've liked for 12 Fuck*ng years just confessed to me.' Serena would have jumped with joy if she wasn't in somuch shock.

Ash froze on the spot. Ash realised that Serena was not asleep and had heard his confession. 'Stupid, stupid, stupid Ash!' he said to himself.

"I'm sorry Serena, you shouldn't have heard that. I was just talking to my self." said Ash as he tried to rectify his mistake but Serena didn't reply. "I know you don't feel the same way about me. I'm sorry, I just made everything so uncomfortable and awkward around us" said Ash as he started getting out of bed to leave the room. However, he was stopped by someone grabbing his hand. As soon as he turned around, he fest something crash into his lips and he instinctively closed his eyes. He thought Serena had punched him but upon closer inspection, what his lips felt were soft and sweet. He then realised it was another pair of lips. He slightly opened his eyes to see what was happening but his eyes widened immediately to find Serena kissing him. Ash was now in complete shock and frozen. However, as soon as he comprehended what was happening, melted in the moment and returned the kiss. They soon broke away for oxygen.

"I love you too Ash" said Serena while smiling sweetly back at him.

This is a one shot in response to XxWhiteYvonnexX 's challenge to make a great story. (It lacks Clemont and Bonnie though.)
