Serena POV

The sun shined through my bedroom curtained window, making me wake up with an annoying alarm ringing loud.

"UGH" A mental groan escaped from my dry mouth. 

I lazily switched the alarm off and got up from my bed, stretching my arms out in the air.

I entered the bathroom having a nice hot shower and got ready in my everyday clothing, then went downstairs to see my mum making breakfast in the kitchen and notices me coming in.

"Good morning dear" she said with a smile.

I smiles back and sat down on a chair as she gave me breakfast on the table.

After that, I head out from my house, closing the door behind me. Walking to the bus stop. When arriving, I saw my friends Dawn, May and Gary freaking Oak.

"Hey guys," I greeted, getting their attention.

"Hi Serena" Dawn smiled and gave me a bear hug, then departed. I was about to speak to her about yesterday, but May interrupted. 

"Gary, where's Ash"

"He's coming right.......now" He replied with a grin.

"Hey guys" someone spoke out behind me, which made me jump in fright with a blush across my face. I turned around and found out it was Ash, which made my cheeks blush even more.

"Yo Ashy-boy, never knew you go on bus with us"

"Well this is my first time with you guys" Ash said with Pikachu on his shoulder and looks to the side. Seeing two more coming in our way "Hey Clement"

"Hello Ash" He greeted, same for his little sister. However, she oddly looked at me and Ash with a evil smirk crawled up to her face.

"So, are you ready against Calem" may said

"You bet" Ash replied with determination.

"Remember Ashy-boy , Calem is not an easy person to battle, he beated me and Paul before" Gary replied.

"Don't worry Gary, I know what I'm doing"

"You sure" I finally spoke out.

Ash looks at me and smiles "Yep, i believe in my Pokemon. we won't give up without a fight" fists pumps in the air.

"PIKA" Pikachu doing the same as it trainer.

My face was now red with my lip facing upwards. I really love his enthusiasm and spirit, if only I could do same.

Finally the bus arrives and We went inside the vehicle. I was about to take a seat next to Dawn but she refused to let me.

"Dawn, let me sit" I said in anger, narrowing my eyebrows.

Then out of nowhere, Gary came and took the seat, my seat! which made me huff in annoyance. He looks at me and smirked.

"Why don't you sit next Ashy-boy" He asked. Making me blush again.

I looked over to see him sitting down near the window side, looking out with an empty seat next to him. my cheeks were now getting hotter to the point where it couldn't have.

For some reason, my feet started to walk on it's own going straight to Ash as my blush began to intense increasingly.

Finally, Ash notice me coming and smiles with Pikachu on his lap sleeping quietly.

"you sitting here", He said and slowly shuffle away, trying not to wake pikachu up.

"T-Thank you" i stuttered and sat down next to him with nervousness swelled in me.

Suddenly the bus made a heavy turn, making my body move to the side with my head landing on Ash's shoulder and my hand touching his perfectly sized, hard biceps.

"Whoa, Serena you alright"

I quickly moved away from his shoulder with my face full of red like a cheri berry.

"Y-Yes" I squeaked and looked away, hiding my embarrassment.

throughout the embarrassing bus ride, we finally arrived at our school. I got off from the transport and head to the playground, where my friends were in a group. We greeted to each other as the bell rang ending the morning break. I starting to walk with my friends until someone grabbed my waist and turned me around, making me look at someone's eye, which i knew who it was.

"Hey Calem"

"hi sweetheart" he smiled and was about to kiss me, but my hand moved on its own, placing it on his lip, stopping Calem from kissing. who made a frown.

"What" he said looking at me and pulled back from the kiss.

"were going lesson"i randomly asked.

"Oh, OK"

the two of us started to walk, to the school building. for some reason, I saw Ash looking at us straight head.

We entered the school building, walking to our lesson which was science and entered as Mr birch was getting some books out from the draws.

i sat down next to my friends at a table which were Dawn, May, Misty and Iris while the boys sat down in their own group.

Ash was talking to Gary while Calem glared at the two from the corner of my eye, then the speaker was heard.

"Attention students, this is a special announcement, we have a battle today and it going to be our champion Calem Xavier against the new student Ash Ketchum, the match will take place at the gym, so be ready" the announcer spoke and ended the line.

the classroom looked at the two boys. Both boys looked at each other with fire in their eyes.

"so Serena, do like Ash" Dawn sneakily whispered in my ear. which made me stood up from my seat and shouted across the room.

"WHAT!"

the whole class were now focusing on me, even the boy on the table making my cheeks blush madly, so i sat quietly down  until Mr birch spoke out.

"class let's get started with our lesson"

Time Skip

After our science lesson with Mr Birch which was very boring you could say.

We head out of the classroom. The boys came last with Calem coming to me. Putting his arm around my shoulder while Ash and Gary were walking away from the group. I was about to speak out but Dawn beat me to it.

"Where you guys going" She called out making the two boys turned around.

"Will be right back" Gary called.

"You better be, can't wait kick your ass ketchup" Calem said in a mocking tone.

I felt like i wanted to stop him but didn't have the courage to do it.

Ash looked back at him with a wide grin and walks away with Gary, as the two start to talk along the way and disappeared out of sight.

Calem takes his arm off around me and walks away to get the ready for the battle.

Me and my friends head to the gym and entered inside, sitting down in the stands to watch the battle in a big view which was great place to sit. After time goes by, a lot students came.

There were lots of cheering across the room. I saw Calem coming out from the door then Ash came out the other with a grin.

Gary came and sat down next to Misty which made her cheeks blush of how close between the two were.

"where did you go" Drew asked.

"Just out, talking to Ashy-boy" Gary said and focused on The battlefield with a grin, which got me curious.

"Why are you grinning like that"

"Because what are you about to see will blow your mind" He said which made me more curious.

"What do you mean by that"

Gary looks away from battlefield to the whole group "Calem is going down"

No POV

On the battlefield, the crowd was cheering so loud that It kinda made Ash's ears block, he looked up ahead to see Calem grinning at him but Ash didn't focus instead he looked on. A referee came and stand in the side battle.

"this battle will be our school champion Calem" he announced.

Calem waves his arm at the crowd.

"versing our new student, Ash Ketchum"

Ash waves his hand up in the air with a wide smile which made the fans scream loud and girls squealing as they looked at him, which made Serena jealous.

the referee looks at the two and motioned his to begin.

Calem took one Pokeball out from his belt and throws it in the air.

Calem: Come out Tyrantrum

When throwing the pokeball in the air and opens. revealing a Pokemon that looked like a dinosaur with big mouth, sharp teeth, brown layered skin with grey on its tummy before stomping on the battlefield.

"tyyrrrantram" It roared in a very deep voice

Ash looks over to his shoulder and straighten his arm out. Pikachu runs along his arm and jumps, landing on the battlefield with electric yellow sparks coming from its red circle cheeks.

"Pika"

Calem didn't waste any time so he spoke first with the first move.

Calem: tyrantrum lets finish this, use rock tomb.

The dinosaur formed big rocks. they started to circle around tyrantrum like an orbit and fired straight at pikachu who was smiling.

Ash: *grinned* "Pikachu you know what to do, use iron tail"

the yellow mouse jumped, forming a steel type move on its glowing tail and turns around with full force and hits one of the rocks, repeating it, making the rocks from Tyranatram hitting back as it screams in pain. When it did, pikachu aimed one last rock and hits it. Making the rock fly back into Tyranatram mouth who stopped screaming.

Calem: spit it out!

Tyrantrum tried to spit out with force but the rock was too big. Ash grins, finding an opening to attack.

Ash: Pikachu use thunder bolt!

Ash Pointed at Tyranatrum which Pikachu immediately commanded, curving its body like a curved ball and motioned up. Letting out a full blast of electricity from it's body. Heading straight to tyranatrum and hits him straight on.

black smoke came out, the referee couldn't see through but Calem knew his Pokemon was down, as the smoke cleared, it revealed tyrantrum lying down on the ground.

Referee: Tyranatrum is unable to battle, Pikachu wins.

The whole crowd were stunned. They have never seen Calem's Pokemon getting fainted that quickly even for the gang, they too watched on with gaped-mouth except for Gary and May who were cheering loud for Ash even Serena who had her hand clasped. Then looks at Calem who returned his fainted Pokemon with an arrogance expression, he took out another Pokeball and throws it.

Calem: Come out Talonflame.

Coming out from its Pokeball revealing a bird type Pokemon with red fur, headlight spots on the belly with grey background and feathers on its wing with ember sparks coming from its flapping wings.

"Taallon"

Ash: Pikachu return.

Pikachu looked back at its trainer and runs to him without hesitation. Ash pets Pikachu's head.

Ash: sorry bud, but i need all my friends to battle.

Pikachu agreed, again without hesitation and watches the battle trying to motivate Ash's other Pokemon.

Ash takes one Pokeball from its belt with a smile and throws revealing the same pokemon as Calem.

Calem: this should be easy, Talonflame use fire blast.

the fire and bird type Pokemon made a ball of fire from its beak mouth and fires straight at Ash's bird type Pokemon

Ash: Talonflame, rev it up use flame charge

Talonflame's body forms fire around its body and heads to Calem's talonflame in light speed dodging the fire blast and head straight.

Calem was about command his Pokemon to dodge, but too late. The attack hits on with black smoke coming out.

A bird flew up, away from the smoke and lands next to Ash who had grin across his face, the smoke cleared up revealing a Talonflame that stood up but quickly fell down with swirls in its eyes.

Referee: Calem's talonflame is unable to battle. Ash's talonflame is the winner

the crowd roared across the gym, standing up from their seat, feeling the excitement, as they watched on.

With the gang

they had mouth gaped expression, watching Ash winning against Calem who didn't lay a single hit on one of his Pokemon, Gary and May were still cheering for Ash while Serena had a slight smile on her face and Paul was smirking as usual, watching the best trainer getting wrecked into pieces.

Paul: hmph, not bad from the new kid.

In the battlefield,

Calem returns his pokemon without saying a word and takes out another Pokeball, throwing it in the air, revealing a fairy type Pokemon with flowers coming from its feet, pale yellow skin with a green long dress.

"Florges"

Ash knew his other Pokemon will love to battle this one, he returned his Talonflame and take out another one. Revealing a big Pokemon with white and purple skin with a big tail.

"Goooodra" looking over at his opponent with a determined face like Ash's.

"PIKA PIKA" Pikachu shouts out, cheering on.

Ash: lets do it Goodra.

Calem: enough talking, Florges use moon last.

Florges forms a pink and white sphere, near to the chest with both hands on the side, focusing the power by making the ball bigger and fires straight at Goodra which Ash quickly commanded.

Ash: Goodra use bide.

the dragon type creates a red aura, surrounding  it's body and stood still without moving an inch as the moon blast hits him on with smoke coming from it.

Calem smiles that he's finally hits his opponent Pokemon but what happens next made him shock.

The smoke cleared and revealed Goodra who still stood up without a scratch or mark on its body with red aura still forming around it's body.

Ash: great job Goodra, now DO IT!.

"GOOODRA."

Realising a big white blast, moving its head back and forwards to get enough power as the attack heads straight at the grass type Pokemon who had a shocked expression and hits it straight on as it flows back landing on the battlefield, hitting the ground with little smoke coming from it.

Referee: Florges is unable to battle Goodra wins.

Calem looks in shock, he never knew he was losing by 3-0. This was his first time usually all other trainer in the school he versus beats them but this was different from the rest, it was like he was up against a champion or a professional battler.

The crowd erupted with a roar while the gang watched on as they see Calem Pokemon fainted again while Ash's Pokemon were still remaining without fainting and laying single mark on but still they were curious to know what his other Pokemon are. Serena was sitting down looking at Ash with determined face.

"Don't give up Ash."
