Next day, in the streets of Kalos where the sun was shining brightly in the cleared blue sky with flying type Pokemon flapping their wing, gliding in the air. It was peaceful but beautiful morning, until a boy walked down the pathway wearing a black jacket with blue scarf around his neck, stuffing his hands inside the pocket as he now stops and turns facing a building in front.

"So this is the school" he murmured as students walked past him beside, they took glances and whispered to each other about this boy who ignored them and starts entering through the gates. He walks into the playground, not getting the attention from other students and enters inside the school building, where there were busy students walking to their classroom or lockers to get their books.

He was about to walk. When Suddenly, he bumped into someone making him stubble a little but when looking down. He saw a girl on the floor.

"Oh, I'm so sorry" he apologetically said as he goes up to the girl and gently picks her from the ground.

The girl looked up at him with a blush forming across the cheeks then quickly looked down to cover it by the hats shadow. The boy knew this but ignored it until she spoke.

"T-thank you" she stutters and begins to scurry away, going straight to her classroom.

He watches her go out of sight then heads straight to the office. Although, he questioned to himself of who was that girl?

When arriving in front of the office door, He opened it by twisting the handle, entering inside to see a man who soon turns around from the desk with stack of papers in his hands, holding it. but when he did. His face landed directly at the boy with a face turning full of shock with papers dropping to the floor.

"Alain"

On the other side, Ash was now at the bus stop waiting for the vehicle to arrive with Pikachu on his shoulder, sitting comfortably. Gary was standing beside him while Serena, May and Dawn were talking in a group. They've been waiting for the past few minutes until the bus finally arrived as they all went inside the vehicle and sat down next to each other as usual.

After that, they arrived at school and went straight to the playground. When they saw their friends talking to each other, they soon noticing them come.

"Hey guys" Gary and Ash said unison with smiles while the girls went to their own group to talk.

"Hey Ash, you heard we got a new student." Drew said.

"Err no, i haven't" Ash said, then looked at Gary "have you Gary"

"Well, my granddad did tell me that there's a new student coming today but i didn't get the name" he said.

"Is it girl or a boy" Clemont questioned.

"Don't know, but we have to find out, if it's a boy i'll battle him first but if it's girl i'll flirt her first" Gary playfully smirked.

Ash rolled his eyes even the gang of his idiotic girl talk. Later, the bell rang loud across the yard. The students went inside the building, heading straight to their class.

When the gang walked inside and took their original seat, Mr Sycamore walks in the classroom making the room go silent like a mouse, because of the head teachers' arrival as he stood in front.

He started with a cough. "Class before we start this lesson, i will like you to meet our new student" he said, motioning at the door.

Which Soon opened with everyone looking straight towards it, but when the person walks in Ash's eyes were widen in surprise and knew it straight away.

The person walks in front of the classroom as the teacher spoke again "class i will like you to meet our new student. Alain Blaze" he greeted with a smile.

Alain looks around the classroom, scanning each and every student until his eyes spotted someone, forming a challenging smirk. He was looking directly at Ash who smiled back, both gazing into each others eyes making eye contact. The gang notices this; they didn't even know why they smirked at each other, or how Ash knows this person.

Now, Alain walks to his desk past Ash as they both gave each other one last eye contacts and sat down with an empty seat beside. When the class was about to start there was another door opened, the class craned again to see a girl walking inside. Alain looked over and saw the same girl that bumped into him.

She looked and spotted a seat next to....Him. Her cheeks were going red as a charmeleon and starts to head over, sitting down next to him with red cheeks activated on. Alain notices the blush but decide to ignore it as the class begins their lesson.

"Now class we will be learning about biology so i want you to get into pairs" he told to the whole class which they immediately went.

Ash and Gary were pair up. Serena was with Dawn, May was with Drew, Cilan and Clemont while Iris and Misty. As For Alain he looked over to see his partner was girl whose face was covered in red.

For a moment they did not speak a single word until Alain broke it.

"Hey there" he greeted, getting the attention for the girl which it did.

She turned her head, meeting his eyes. When Alain was about to speak, the words stopped. Not to speak for a friendly conversation but it was those eyes he saw, they made him bore and spell casted, there was red cheek from the girl who also stare into his, yet She couldn't even look away from his but the teacher spoke up, clapping the hands.

"Now class let's get started" he spoke making the girl and Alain broke in thought and went on their work, when Alain spoke again whilst working the assignment.

He looked at her and smile "hey my name Alain, what your name" he said in a friendly manner.

The girls looked away covering her face from him and spoke "m-my name is Marin" she said in a quite yet shy tone but loud enough for Alain to hear her. He thought Marin was a cute name for a girl like her. It even suited her.

As the class proceed on finishing the work. The bell rang with lesson come to an end. The students in the class began to pack their bags and head out to their next lesson which was a battle.

Ash and his friend walked out the classroom. Ash looks behind to see Alain walk out too, he glances him and smiled. Ash gave a smile back and carried on walking until Serena spoke.

"Hey Ash do you know him" she said.

"Huh, of course i do" Ash spoke with a smile which made the gang curious, wanting to know how he knows the new kid.

"Really cuz, so how do you two know each other" May questioned.

"Well, i met him when i was on a journey through Kalos; we met when i was training with Greninja until he arrived. He wanted a battle so i accepted it." Ash said, with smile remembering the time he battled him.

"So who won the battle" Drew questioned.

"Well...he won" Ash admitted making the group shocked in surprise.

"Wait he won but you're the strongest in this school" Dawn exclaimed.

"hmph, pathetic" Paul mumbled, crossing the arms by leaning against the locker.

"What a kid" iris said, shaking her head.

Ash laughs a little "i know but later in the day. We had another match and i won him" he said.

"So if you won against that new kid then that's means your tied" Serena said.

"Yep, you really are clever" Ash commented, making Serena blush deep red.

"y-you think, i-i am" she stutters in shyness, she tried to cover her hair but it was to short so she has to reveal it.

"yes, you are" he said with a goofy smile as Serena felt like she was ready to pass out, but Dawn came up for comfort.

"Serena, he was complimenting you" she said. However, the face turned into a smirk as she whispered into her ear "not proposing"

"W-W-What" Serena exclaimed with her face full of red as ever and hot steam shooting from the top head. Although, she did imagine of her crush getting married. Hmm, i wonder what will it be like?

Ash was curios of the girls conversation which he didn't hear what Dawn said. "er, what did you say"

"NOTHING!" Serena shouts waving her infront with Dawn giggling in the background.

then, the gang start to walk to the gym, Serena was keeping an eye out for Dawn's playful tricks while Ash kept on thinking about the battle.

He told the truth to his friends, However, there was still some truth to be spoken out, it wasn't all the detailed but it was short. He wanted to hide this, not wanting to reveal it to whole class so he kept quite not overdoing his travels through Kalos.

When the gang arrived at the gym they went inside and sat down in the stand when Alain came through the door, he glanced at Ash with smirk and sat down at the far corner. Until the teacher came in front.

"Ok class, this will be Pokémon battle match, now who would be like to volunteer for our first battle" he spoke.

There was long pause from the students when two hands went straight up in the air. They looked over to see their school champion Ash raising his hand and another from Alain.

"Excellent this will be great match, now please Ash and Alain proceed to the battlefield." He said.

The two boys walked over to their battlefield in each side and took out their poke balls with grin plastered on their face, throwing the poke balls in the air, Revealing in front of their trainers.

Alain took out charizard who roared out with might while Ash took out greninja who stood in silence looking narrowly at his opponent.

"The battle between Ash the champion vs. Alain blaze the new student" the referee said he glanced left to right over the shoulder and motion his hand "begin"

Tension was raising high between the two rivals. The class were getting excited watching another match from their champion and the new student.

The gang looked at Ash then Alain while Serena was looking worried. She knew Ash's bond with Greninja. The pain they feel together and fight together to win. A thought of remembrance came to her about the match between her ex-boyfriend Calem, who made his yvetal command to attack Ash Greninja forcefully with hate and revenge. She didn't want her crush to get hurt, all she wanted was safety.

Now, she looked at Ash who had a grin upon his face looking straight Alain. She lift her hand up to her chest forming a fist with determination "Don't give up Ash, you could can do It." she muttered in determination.

At the battle field

Ash quickly commanded first attack for the move.

"Greninja lets go, use double team" he commanded

Greninja Immediately move its thin frog sized legs fast with pace as a flash with copied of him like ten or twenty running towards the dragon type but Alain quickly countered it.

"Charizard use flamethrower to out the fakes." Alain commanded.

When charizard heard this. There was fire in his mouth, he leans the neck back then forwards for power and spits out flamethrower starting from left to right taking out all the fakes with black smoke rising up.

"Water shuriken" Ash shouts doing the same movement as Greninja.

Greninja claps his frog hand on the side of it's legs and clasp them together with shuriken sticking in his hands like glue and throws it with speed, spinning the water shuriken as it came close.

"Now charizard dragon claw" Alain commands use his hand like claw and closed it tightly into fist, almost like he was grabbing victory.

Charizard quickly forms green glowing claw from the hands and smashed one of the ninja shuriken making a white smoke.

"Use Ariel ace"

Alain knew this from Ash, when he first battled him it was same trick and knew the bond between them.

With a sudden appearance. Greninja jumps out stealthily with white glow on its legs and kicks straight, landing at charizard face. Making it slide back and shook it's head getting rid of the pain then looks at Greninja as it growled with smile.

The students on the stand were roaring and cheering to the champion even the new student, really loving the match like it was the final round. The gang looked intensively on the battle watching Ash with greninja and Alain with charizard.

"That charizard is strong!" May commented.

Gary nods in agreement "me too, it like it doesn't want to give up"

Serena looked on at Ash, when he now smiles and continued on talking in the battlefield.

"Not bad Alain from your charizard" he shouted across the battle field.

Alain gave out a smile "thanks for the word of wise." he said and look at directly at him with grin "but we can do better"

Ash gives a nod in determination and looks at greninja "you ready Greninja"

Greninja didn't look back, he knew what his trainer wants and that was the evolution they needed "Greninja" it spoke.

Alain smiled widely and does the same to charizard "you ready charizard"

"Char" it roared

The crowd began to get confused of their action until they saw Alain pull his sleeve up revealing a bracelet with a key stone shining. The gang and students notice this as he presents the key stone. there was shocked and surprises ran up to their face.

"Key stone respond to my heart, beyond evolution. Mega evolve!"
