Perfect Imperfections
Hey guys! Finally after a long time I wrote something. I hope my writing didn't rusted. It's a short oneshot.
The idea for this oneshot and title inspired from pxrfectly_sxrene story "Perfect Imperfections".
Thank you for the permission.

The late afternoon sun cast a warm, golden glow over the park, bathing the bench where Ash and Serena sat in a warm light. Serena's head rested gently on Ash's shoulder, her soft breaths gently touching against his skin. A sense of peaceful contentment hung in the air, a harmony to the quiet intimacy they shared.
But that peace shattered in an instant.
Serena lifted her head, her sapphire eyes, usually sparkling with warmth, now held a depth of unknown emotion that chilled Ash to the bone. He felt the shift, the sudden coldness that replaced the comforting weight of her head, and instinctively turned towards her.
"What's happened, Serena?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Her lips trembled, a fragile butterfly caught in a sudden storm. In a voice barely above a breath, she whispered,
"Can... can we break up?"
The words hung in the air, sharp and unexpected, like shards of glass shattering a precious vase. Ash's eyes widened in disbelief, a wave of shock washing over him. It was as if someone had reached into his chest and crushed his very soul.
He fought to regain control, his emotions a tempest within him. "Did I do something wrong?" he managed to ask, his voice shaky, the usual warmth stripped away, leaving only a hollow echo.
The sight of his usually bright eyes, now dull and devoid of their usual spark, fueled the dam within Serena. The fragile mask of composure crumbled, and the emotions that had been held captive burst forth. Tears, hot and uncontrolled, flowed freely from her beautiful sapphire eyes, each one a silent sour to the pain that consumed her.
The sapphire of Serena's eyes mirrored the storm brewing in the heavens, tears cascading down her cheeks like raindrops from a bruised, dark sky. She clung to Ash, her face buried in his chest, seeking solace in his embrace. Her tears drenched his shirt, like morning snow melting into delicate petals.
Each whisper that escaped her lips, laden with grief and self-reproach, grew louder, a crescendo of sorrow. "It's not fair, Ash, it's not fair," she sobbed, her voice choked with despair. "Why didn't you hate me? Why didn't you leave me? I'm just a burden, a weight on everyone who cares for me. Why didn't you love someone else? Someone who wouldn't forget you by morning? Someone who could love you, cherish you, better than I ever could? Why, Ash? Why, Ash? Just forget me, move on, love someone else."
Her cries intensified, a torrent of anguish unleashed upon the silent world. The weight of her self-inflicted guilt pressed down upon her, heavy and suffocating. Each word is a painful reminder of the chasm that separated her from the love she craved, the love she believed she didn't deserve. Her cries grew more intense, her body wracked with anguish. Ash held her close, his heart shattered at the sound of her torment. He had never intended to cause her pain, but fate had a cruel way of twisting their paths.
Serena's sobs gradually subsided, her body trembling as she finally calmed. Ash gently separated from their embrace, his hands cupping her delicate, rosy cheeks. He held her face, his warm brown eyes gazing softly into her once vibrant blue eyes, now clouded with tears like a hazy snowfall. A deep ache settled in his heart at the sight of her brokenness.
"I can't... I can't forget you," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "How on earth could you forget? You, my childhood friend, the one who cheered me up when I felt lost, the one who stood beside me through every defeat, the one who cared for me more than anyone else... it's impossible! You are the light that created this foolish boy's shadow, and I love you, Serena. I love you so much."
His voice broke, laced with a raw vulnerability that mirrored the pain etched on his face. "I love the way your hair gleams in the sunlight, the melodious sound of your voice when you speak to me, the beautiful words I yearn to hear 'I love you, Ash'. I love getting lost in your captivating blue eyes, their depths drawing me in, holding me captive. I love your soft pink lips, the ones that once whispered their love to me. How can I possibly erase all of this, Serena? How can I forget?"
Ash gently pressed his forehead against hers, feeling the warmth of the moment envelop them. His voice was a whisper, laced with affection, "I love you, Serena. Even if tomorrow dawns and you wake without a trace of me in your memory, my love for you will remain unchanged. If you were to look at me with curiosity and ask, 'Who are you?' I would gladly introduce myself again and again, not caring how many times it might take.
You are precious to me, Serena, like a rare gem that shines brightly even in the shadows. Every morning, I promise to find a way to make you fall in love with me anew, to remind you of the laughter we've shared and the dreams we've woven together, to remind you of the depth of my feelings. I love you, Serena."
Serena pressed her hands against Ash's chest, the warmth of his heartbeat beneath her palms grounding her amidst the whirlwind of emotions. "You idiot," she whispered, her voice trembling as she fought back tears. "Idiot, idiot... I love you. I love you so damn much." Her cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink, a blush that betrayed her anger as tears slipped silently down her face.
Ash's eyes softened, his heart swelling with affection. He leaned closer, his breath warm against her skin as he replied softly, "I'm your idiot." The sincerity in his words wrapped around her like a comforting embrace, igniting a flicker of joy in her sorrow.
Suddenly, a spark of excitement danced in Ash's eyes, as if the world around them had transformed in an instant. With a gentle determination, he took Serena's hand, leading her toward the nearby swing set.
As they approached the swings, Ash turned to Serena with a mischievous grin. "Race you!" he declared, letting go of her hand and dashing toward the swings. Laughter bubbled up in Serena's chest, and she sprinted after him, her heart light and carefree. The sound of their joyous giggles filled the air, blending with the rustle of leaves overhead and the distant call of birds settling in for the evening.
Ash reached the swings first, but he didn't climb on right away. Instead, he turned to Serena, his breathless laughter echoing like music against the gentle breeze. "Okay, let's see who can swing the highest!" he challenged, his eyes gleaming with challenge and joy.
Serena climbed onto her swing, a cascade of laughter escaping as Ash pushed her gently. "Higher!" she cheered, and Ash complied, each push sending her soaring just a little bit closer to the sky. With every swing upward, the wind whipped through her hair, and the exhilaration wrapped around her like a warm embrace.
"Look!" Ash exclaimed, his voice laced with excitement as he joined her on the adjacent swing. "If we swing high enough, we might touch the clouds!"
"I'll race you to the clouds, then!" Serena replied, her heart pounding rhythmically with the swings momentum.
After a while, Ash slowed his swing, staring at the sunset that kissed the horizon. "Isn't it beautiful?" he murmured, his voice softening as he took in the vibrant colours splashed across the sky. Serena slowed down too, her gaze following him. Shades of coral and violet merged elegantly, creating a breathtaking canvas above them.
"It is," she agreed, her heart swelling at the peaceful moment they shared. She looked over at Ash, the golden light casting a halo around him, illuminating his features in a soft glow. He looked like he belonged in the scene, a perfect companion in this fleeting glimpse of paradise.
As Ash gazed into Serena's sparkling blue eyes, he asked, his voice filled with adoration, "Now, does my precious Angel feel happy?" Serena's face lit up with a radiant smile, and she giggled, her voice barely above a whisper, "Too much happy."
As they stood up to swing, Serena suddenly wrapped her arms around Ash, pulling him close. Her voice trembled as she whispered, her words tumbling out in a broken, emotional rush, "I didn't want to forget this moment, Ash... I didn't want to forget your smile... I didn't want to forget you... This hurts so much."
As she held him tightly, her body began to relax, her eyelids growing heavy, and her breathing slowing. She felt like a newborn baby, exhausted and vulnerable. Before drifting off to sleep, she whispered, her voice barely audible, "I wish I could remember everything... I love you, Ashy."
Ash scooped her up in his arms, cradling her like a bride, and began to walk towards their house. He whispered softly, his voice filled with promise, "I swear, I will never leave you, I love you, Sere."
He didn't notice one thing, a bright light formed behind him, and the wish was granted.
Ash stepped into the house, cradling Serena in his arms, her peaceful form wrapped snugly in his embrace. The gentle rise and fall of her breath reassured him that she was safe. As he crossed the threshold, Pikachu running toward him, eyes bright with excitement. "Pika pi chu?" the little Electric-type squeaked, noticing the tear stains on Ash's shirt.
"Don't worry, buddy. We're fine," Ash replied, managing a faint smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. He had been through a lot, but knowing Serena was sleeping peacefully brought him a measure of comfort. Carefully, he laid her down on her bed, brushing a few stray strands of hair from her face. He planted a soft kiss on her forehead and whispered, "Good night, princess. Sweet dreams."
The morning sun streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Ash peeked in on Serena, gently nudging her awake. As she blinked her eyes open, confusion flickered across her features.
"Who is this boy?" she asked, her voice still thick with slumber.
"I'm A-" he began, but his words were swallowed up as she suddenly surged forward, pressing her lips against his in a fervent kiss. Surprise coursed through him, but it quickly melted away as he felt the sweetness of the moment envelop them.
As they pulled away, Ash noticed tears sparkling in her eyes. "Ash Ketchum, my beloved childhood friend and lover," she whispered breathlessly, the words hanging in the air like a tender promise.
Ash's eyes widened in shock, and he struggled to formulate a response, his mind racing to catch up with her unexpected declaration. But before he could stammer out a reply, she placed a delicate finger against his lips, silencing him.
"I remember everything, Ash"
