Meanwhile in another universe where things are... peaceful... the gang was just starting their conversation about chasing Team Rocket and get back Professor Elm's Pokémon.

"Well, we can tell..."

Serena suddenly got cut off by Lyra

"No, Serena. That's the worst idea I've ever heard, like in the entire universe and other multiverses. Hey I know, Ash, you can catch Ethan a Pokémon to be his starter!"

"Huh?" -Ethan was just thinking about having children with Lyra until he heard his name.

"Yeah, that's a great idea!" -Said Ethan with an optimistic voice

And so, Ash and Ethan walked into the grass...

Woah! A wild Rattata attacked! (I like it like that because it's kinda dramatic lol)

"Okay Pikachu, I choose you!"

Pikachu loafs around, pretending not to notice Ash

The wild Rattata used Quick Attack.

"Uhhh, Pikachu?" -Serena reacts to Pikachu's actions

"Pika...CHUUUUU!!" -Pikachu unleashes a powerful Thundershock after the Rattata attacks, leaving the Rattata almost fainted.

"Now's our chance!" -Ethan got excited, while aiming his slightly off-colored "Master Ball" with a sticker saying "Made in China" at Rattata.

"You're mine now!" -Ethan throws the Masta Ball at Rattata.

The Masta Ball was shaking, everyone in Cherrygrove City were silent, all eyes were on the Masta Ball. Many were tempted to laugh, but held back because being silent to remember a Pokémon's last seconds of freedom is regarded as the Johto tradition by many.

"Ayyy" -Ash cheered for Ethan and laugh his Aipom off with happiness

"My... starter Pokémon! I finally did it!" -Ethan held the Masta Ball containing the newly caught Rattata, gently like it's his and Lyra's imaginary child.

"Now... Let's go stop Team Rocket!" -Serena got excited even though she realized that she doesn't have a Pokémon...yet

And so, they followed Team Rocket. Walking along Route 30, they suddenly encountered a trainer.

"Aww man, I just lost my first battle ever, that sucks..."

The trainer carried on mumbling about his first loss when suddenly, he notice Ethan holding a Masta Ball leading the gang.

"Hey kid, you look weak! So does that Master Ball! Let's battle!" -The trainer challenged Ethan.

"Who me? Heck yeah! Let's go" -Ethan excitedly responded

"Good luck babe!" -Lyra accidentally said what she was thinking

"Ehh..." -Ash awkwardly responded

On Ethan's mind at that moment

You are challenged by Youngster Joey!

Youngster Joey sent out Rattata

"Rattatatta!"

"Oh cool, I have my own too"

" I choose you, Rattata!" -Ethan threw his Masta Ball and screamed.

Back to the real world

5 minutes later...

"Yay! I won! I actually did it!" -Ethan cheered out loud as he wins his first battle

"Man, that sucks" -Youngster Joey responded "Hey um can I get your numb-"

Ethan and the gang carried on, leaving youngster Joey alone.

As the gang approach​es Dark Cave, there was an old and perverted looking man, staring at Lyra.

"Waterfu?" -Lyra questioned the old man in an old language only native Johtians know.

"Would you mind bringing me the kid with the Master Ball, please?" -The old man asked Lyra in the language

"Sua" -Lyra responded

"Ethan, the old man wants to tell you something."

Lyra ran to Ethan, as he and the old man stared at her gorgeous figure.

"Oh... Umm... Okay" -Ethan responded to Lyra

"So kid, I want to tell you this. First off, the girl with brown hair you were staring at, is mine. Secondly, would you like to know the key to winning every 1v1 Pokémon battle?" -The old man questioned Ethan

"Nooo...?"

"It's F.E.A.R., short for Focus Sash Endeavor (Quick) Attack Rattata. And I can clearly see, that your Rattata has the potential to perform F.E.A.R.- no IVs in Defense and Special Defense which triggers the Focus Sash easily. Your Pokémon also has a Lonely nature, which makes his Defense decreased and his Attack increased, but that won't matter since Endeavor takes the target's HP to your HP, which should be 1 when your Pokémon hangs onto the Focus Sash.

"What the heck is he talking about...? I thought with friendship, we can win any battle, even my Pikachu and faint Ground-types with Thunderbolt..." -Ash thought to hinself

"Afterwards, you use Quick Attack, since it has priority, you might go first. And your Pokémon doesn't seem to gain HP anyway, so its stats will never go up, which is always a good thing. Another advantage of F.E.A.R is that you don't need to have your Ditto to breed with another Pokémon for the perfect IVs and nature anyway. Get it?" -The old man explained F.E.A.R to Ethan

"Kinda... But how do I make my Rattata learn Endeavor, since he already has Quick Attack..." -Ethan questioned

"Well, you're lucky, since I can teach Endeavor and Quick Attack to any Pokémon that learn it through level up, I can teach it to your Rattata. Now, hand me your Pokémon..."

Ethan hands over his Rattata

"Very well. Now, please turn around..."

Ethan turns around

"Rattaaaaa" -Ethan's Rattata let out a cry

"Perfect. Now you can win any battle with ease. However, if your opponent has Pokémon which can use moves that can hit many times, set up Spikes/ Steath Rock / Toxic Spikes, inflict a status on your Pokémon or use priority moves (since inflicts small amount of HP, it will get rid off the Focus Sash); you should probably run away."

"Alright, got it. Thanks! But... why is the Focus Sash glued on my Rattata?" -Ethan questioned, but saw no response as the old man magically disappeared...
