Serena sighed in relief that Ash was safe, as Grace looked at her with raised eyebrows. 

Don't get her wrong, she too was concerned when she saw him jump, but Serena screamed so loud she was sure she alerted the whole block.

What was even more intriguing was that she yelled that boy's name, which was later shown on TV. How did she know her?

"Okay, so what am I missing?"

Clemont and Bonnie were awestruck. Ash Ketchum had shown his third pokemon, and once again, the power level was off the chart. However, what surprised them even more was that he had jumped after Pikachu without even thinking.

As for Charizard, he punched Ash on his head and growled angrily.

"AAH! Sorry, I won't do it again," said Ash wincing as he rubbed the spot.

"Grr..."

"I promise!" 

As he said that, Sycamore ran to him.

"Ash, thank you for saving Garchomp, I'm really grateful," said Sycamore panting.

"It's alright Prof. Now can we go back. I'll need to book a room in the Pokemon Center," said Ash scratching the back of his head as Charizard grumbled.

"No need Ash, you can stay with us at the lab," said Sycamore.

"Are you sure? I don't wanna be a burden on you guys," said Ash.

"It's quite alright Ash. You saved Garchomp, it's the least I can do," said Sycamore. 

"Thanks, professor," said Ash as Clemont and Bonnie joined them.

"CAN WE JOIN YOU GUYS TOO?" asked Bonnie excitedly before Clemont could stop her.

"Yes you can," said Sycamore with a chuckle as Ash nodded excitedly.

"THE MORE THE MERRIER!" Ash said with a cheer as Pikachu agreed. Charizard too nodded as Lucario came out of his Pokeball.

"YAY!"

The next morning, Serena was seen dressing up as her mother came to wake her up.

"Se- you're awake?"

"Yeah mom," she said as she then asked her about the hats.

"Which one is the better one mom?" she asked, showing her a pink and a red one.

"Uh... if you ask me I think the pink one suites you," she said as Serena thought for a second.

"Well... normally I would just go with the opposite of what you said, but you're right, it suites me," she said as she put it on.

"Alright, I'm off to get me a pokemon," Serena said cheerfully as she picked up the bag she had packed.

"And Serena, say hi to Ash for me," said Grace slyly with a smirk causing Serena to light up.

"W-WHA! I AM JUST GOING FOR A POKEMON!" 

"Yeah, and I am Diantha. Please, no matter how good you become at acting, you'll never fool me," said Grace jokingly.

"MOM!"

Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie were ready to depart, Clemont and Bonnie accompanying him after Bonnie begged him to travel with them and Ash agreed almost immediately, Though Clemont was a little reluctant.

They were about to leave when Ash was hit by frubbles straight in the face.

"OUCH! Wait, Froakie?" asked Ash, confused, as Froakie jumped up to him and pushed his Pokeball towards him.

"You wanna come with me?" asked a confused Ash as Froakie nodded. He had heard from Sycamore how stubborn he was and how he left every trainer that chose him, so this was a pleasant surprise for him and the others.

"Marvelous! I hope you take good care of him, Ash," said Sycamore with a grin, happy that Froakie had finally chosen someone as his trainer.

"Are you sure Froakie?" asked Ash, as Froakie just bumped his fist to the Pokeball's button, which then sucked him in.

"Well... welcome to the family Froakie," said Ash with a smile as Charizard who was next to him out of his Pokeball nodded approvingly.

"Awesome! FROAKIE IS MY FIRST KALOS POKEMON!" yelled Ash excitedly as he let Froakie out who looked at Ash incredulously. He hadn't ever seen even a new trainer being this excited getting his first Pokemon as Ash was.

"Come on Froakie, let's go. Charizard, back in the Pokeball," said Ash as Charizard hit him with a flame thrower and then got sucked in the ball.

Ash chuckled as he dusted off the soot while everyone else was confused as to what happened. Other than Pikachu of course.

Ash picked up Froakie as he started to run.

"COME ON GUYS, SANTALUNE CITY IS WAITING FOR US!"

Serena entered Professor's house/lab.

"Is anyone here?"

"Hello, I'm Sycamore, who are you?" asked Sycamore as he walked into the lab.

"E-eh, I'm Serena, and I'm here for my first Pokemon," she said nervously as Sycamore smiled.

"Welcome, and I'll just bring the pokemons he said as he went inside and came back with the three pokemon showing them to her.

"Well... these are all awesome but I had already decided which one I'd choose," Serena told him as she picked up the Fennekin.

"It is good that you know your choice beforehand. Now, let me just hand you your Pokedex and pokeballs. Do you have any plan from here?" asked Sycamore as Serena blushed a little.

"U-uh... do you know where the trainer from yesterday is?" she asked nervously.

Sycamore chuckled as he handed her the pokeballs.

"He just left about an hour ago. You can catch up if you leave soon, he's heading towards Santalune city," he told her as Serena brightened up.

"THANK YOU!" she said as she bowed and then ran outside.

'Maybe I'll be able to catch up before he reaches there,' she thought darting off.

A few hours later, Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie had settled for a little rest at a clearing, finally having a break after the whole Fletchling and Dedenne ordeal.

"Man... that was something," said Ash remembering how much Dedenne had made them chase after it.

"Yeah," said Clemont, still panting.

"So... anyone wants to eat?" 

"I WANT TO!" yelled Bonnie excitedly as the Dedenne sleeping inside her bag woke up and cheered alongside her.

"Alright alright, I'll make something," said Clemont as he sweatdropped at their excitement.

"Really? YOU'RE AWESOME CLEMONT!" said Ash with stars in his eyes as Bonnie nodded her head in agreement.

"Right, let me set up a small camp," he said as he opened his bag.

He was just about to take out the tent and the cooking equipment when they all heard a large explosion.

"Huh! What was that?" asked Bonnie as Ash without thinking just ran towards it.
