"KALOS, ASH KETCHUM HAS ARRIVED!" yelled Ash as he got out of the plane. However, the next moment, he tripped and he faceplanted in EACH and EVERY stair before finally coming to a stop at the bottom. 

While all this was happening, Pikachu was just snickering at the fate of the Alolan champion.

"HEY! STOP LAUGHING PIKACHU!" yelled Ash with a blush on his face.

Pikachu sheepishly scratched the back of his face as he jumped straight on his head and then made his way to his shoulder.

"That's a Spritzee! Wow, they look way cuter than in the books," said Ash with stars in his eyes.

"AWW YEAH! I'm pumped for a gym battle," said Ash as he prepared to run away only for Alexa to stop her.

"Wait where do you plan to go for a gym battle?" she asked with a giggle.

"Uh... you said your sister had a gym right?" asked Ash.

"It's all the way in Santalune City, Ash," she said with a giggle as she watched his shoulders droop and a cloud of depression form over his head.

"Wait... I WILL JUST CHALLENGE THE LUMIOSE GYM!"

"Oh well, I guess I can't stop you. I'll go contact her. Meet you in Santalune City, and thanks for the interview AK," she said with a grin as Ash grinned back and started to run.

"OH AND GOOD LUCK FINDING THAT STRAW HAT GIRL!"

Oh man, his mother always found ways to embarrass him, even if she couldn't do it herself.

Ash was in front of the gym's gate, as he looked up the building.

"Hm... this gym looks awesome!"

He didn't notice that two lemon blonde kids, one with shiny rimless glass and the other with a small bag looking at him.

Ash entered the gym only to find himself in front of a door with a screen.

"Welcome to the Lumiose gym."

"HI! I'm here for a gym battle," said Ash excitedly.

"How many gym badges do you have?" 

"Uh... none?"

"WHAT! YOU CAN ONLY CHALLENGE LUMIOSE GYM WITH 4 BADGES OR MORE!" said the robotic voice as two rods came out and tried to shock him. Keyword: Tried. Pikachu jumped into action as he raised his tail to use his Lightning rod ability and jumped onto the floor.

"Phew. What the hell is wrong with the gym lea-" Ash was cut off when the ground beneath him gave in and he was launched into a slide-like tunnel.

"AWESOME!" yelled Ash excitedly as he and Pikachu, rather than being scared or surprised, started to enjoy the 'ride'.

As the tunnel opened outside, he landed gracefully next to a lemon-blonde kid as Pikachu was caught by the girl.

"AWW! PIKACHU IS SO CUTE!" she yelled as she rubbed her cheeks against his.

Pikachu, startled by this, acted on his instincts and let out a small thunderbolt, enough to shock the three humans.

"AAAAH!" yelled the siblings, while Ash did nothing other than coughing lightly on the soot after Pikachu stopped.

After the other two got to their senses, the boy apologized to Ash and lightly scolded the girl.

"It's alright, Pikachu likes that, it's just that this caught him by surprise," said Ash as he scratched the back of his neck.

"Still, I'm really sorry. My name is Clemont and she is Bonnie, my little sister," said Clemont.

"Oh, my name is Ash Ketchum," said Ash.

"Wait the one who finished fourth in Sinnoh league a few years ago. The one who defeated a Darkrai and who's Pikachu tied with a Latios?" asked Bonnie.

"Yeah, I'm that Ash Ketchum," said Ash as he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.

"WOW!" said Bonnie with stars in her eyes.

"Well, anyway, are you both on a journey?"

"Ah, no, she's too young to get a pokemon, and I'm just an inventor," said Clemont.

"Oh... well, I really wanted to have a good battle today," said Ash with a groan.

Well, I suppose I could give you a nice battle," said Clemont as he took out a Pokeball and Ash grinned.

"Now that's what I'm talking about."

With that, Ash and Clemont found themselves on a battleground.

"This is a one-on-one battle between Clemont and Ash. Both trainers send out their pokemon," said an excited Bonnie imitating the announcers of official leagues.

"PIKACHU!"

"Bunnelby"

"Pikachu use thunder!" yelled Ash as Pikachu shot out a large thunderbolt.

"Bunnelby, use your ears to stir up the sand," said Clemont.

'Wow! This is awesome, he's using a kind of combination of mud shot and dig to shoot large chunks of dirt and earth to stop Thunderbolt.

"Pikachu, use quick attack."

"Bunnelby as soon as he comes close use a double kick," said Clemont.

"Pikachu, take it and use Nuzzle," said Ash as Pikachu smirked. It was a code Ash and Pikachu had unofficially decided to use. Whenever Ash said 'take it', instead of 'Take that attack', he had to use Iron tail to stop the attack followed by whatever Ash said.

And so he did.

Pikachu used Iron tail, used it as a boost, got behind Bunnelby, and used nuzzle.

"Bunnelby! Use Dig and then Laser Focus!"

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail on the ground," said Ash as Pikachu followed what he said.

"COME OUT NOW!" yelled Clemont, starting to panic.

"ELECTROWEB AS SOON AS HE COMES OUT!"

"Dodge it and use Takedown!"

"Switch to volt tackle!"

As Bunnelby came out and used Take Down, Pikachu did as Ash told and went into volt tackle.

Both moves collided as a large dust cloud was kicked up.

As the dust cleared, Bunnelby could be seen covered in dust and bruises, but Pikachu was relatively unharmed.

"That's one tough Pikachu..." said Clemont with an open mouth.

"Well, it did go against a Latios and tied," said Ash.

"Heh. Bunnelby, use Bulldoze."

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail on the ground!"

"NOW QUICK ATTACK!" yelled Clemont as Bunnelby dashed towards Pikachu.

"Oh shit!"

As Bunnelby came close, Ash had an idea.

"PIKACHU DROP-DOWN AND USE COUNTER SHIELD!"

Pikachu's tail went limp as he dropped to the ground and started to roll while using Thunder. This caused Bunnelby to be hit by the attack and pushed him back.

"Now... use agility," said Ash as Pikachu was covered by green energy.

"Bunnelby, use Mud shot while he's distracted," said Clemont.

For Ash, this was a gamble. He was waiting for Paralysis to affect Bunnelby, and it paid off. As Bunnelby tried to use Mud Shot, sparks flew out of him as he fell onto his knees.

"NOW ELECTRO BALL!"

Here's the thing. Electroball is as strong as the difference in speed. Now it's really strong even if the difference is not much, but with Pikachu using Agility and Bunnelby's speed reducing to half due to Paralysis, this move was now devastating.

And as the attack found its mark, Bunnelby was pushed out of the ring past Clemont.

"BUNNELBY!" 

As Clemont rushed to Bunnelby, Ash congratulated Pikachu, and then both rushed to him too.

"Here, it's an Oran Berry, it will help," said Ash as he held it to Clemont.

"Right," he replied as he took the berry. But the next moment Ash felt something and he pinned Clemont and Bonnie to the ground while ducking himself.

An object went over their head hitting the ground as Ash quickly got up followed by Clemont and Bonnie.

"What's happening?" asked Clemont.

Cassidy: A shrieking whine! A blast from the past!
Butch: Spinning like a Gyro Ball and moving fast!
Cassidy: To the moon...
Butch: ...And beyond...
Both: ...What a blast!
Cassidy: Administering justice with lightning speed!
Butch: Bashing the bad guys, should we feel the need.
Cassidy: So here's a newsflash from across the wire...
Butch: The real Team Rocket is now on fire!
Cassidy: Cassidy!
Butch: And it's Butch!
Shuckle: Shuck-uckle!
Cassidy: Showing the losers who are the gem...
Butch: ...The true Team Rocket...
Both: Us! Not THEM!

Hello everyone, so here's the third (technically fifth, but like the third major book as one got scrapped and the other is a one-shot) Pokemon book, and as you can see it's... decent.
