I'm three days too late but Happy Friendship Day, everyone 💕

"Happy friendship day, Shivaay!"

Hearing the voice, Shivaay looked up to find Annika standing with a friendship band portruded his way. He warily closed his laptop and gave a shaky smile.

"Friendship day?" He chuckled nervously. "I don't believe in such things."

Annika frowned at that. She was talking about friendship day--something that was celebrated worldwide, and not Diwali or something! She voiced to him the same.

"Yes, but why should we reserve one day for friends, right? They should be celebrated every day!"

Annika scoffed. Talk about lame excuses. Dejected, she kept the friendship band she had enthusiastically bought for him in her pocket. Did he not consider her a friend? They had met a couple of months back while working on organizing a college fest, and despite the one-year age gap, had become quite close.

"You're being very mean, Shivaay," Annika finally voiced out, her lips trembling slightly, before walking away.

"Annika!" Shivaay called out, but to no avail. He sat back down with a sigh.

"Why were you just being a jerk to her?" Shivaay's best friend, Advik, asked after having witnessed the whole encounter. "I thought you liked her?"

"That's the whole point man!" Shivaay exclaimed as he frustratedly ran a hand through his hair. "I don't wanna wear a stupid band and be friendzoned by her!"

Advik couldn't help but laugh at his friend's stupidity.

"Bro, with the stunt you just pulled, I think you'll be lucky to even enter the friend zone at this point! Now go and wear the damned band and be done with it, or she'll be really upset."

Shivaay sighed again, before nodding. Advik was right--entering the friend zone seemed like a much better option than having Annika remain upset with him.

Also guys, I know a lot of you have been waiting for updates. Now that I'm slightly better and want to start writing again, my laptop is malfunctioning :( I guess the writing God is upset with me for whatever reason :(
