Back from the abyss
A part of her wounded hand was still as the other one pushed at his face, trying to pry the savage werewolf away.
"Eric! Stop, it's me!"
Eric didn't stop as his jaws tried to pull at her.
"Finish her off!" chimed Sera.
One of the Walker werewolves stood still, watching the scene as a blast sounded somewhere near the Styx. Someone came by and doused Eric in water. He felt disoriented.
Amoris stood somewhere nearby, on her knees, breathing heavily as a part of her wounds in her forehead opened. The smoke was starting to affect her too. Phantasos and Nyx were missing but Kairos and Candy seemed to be trying to bring the situation to control.
"Is that...?"
The gods, Athena, Poseidon, and Apollo looked at the young man standing a few feet from them.
"That is Rex."
The young person didn't speak anything, just peered at Eric closely and then took went near to Zest. He pulled out something from her hair, smiled a bit and made a concoction from the water in a bottle.
"Stop him!"
Amoris looked enraged. "No, you stop, Athena. This isn't going to work out."
The frog looked bewildered and then laughed it off. "Don't play with intelligence."
Amoris rolled her eyes as she and Candy looked around. Dead people were lying about as more and more bodies piled up.
It was a truly disgusting sight for her, but a sad one too. The fairy godmother fluttered once, twice and then fell down, unable to pull through.
"Don't you see? You're killing the factions," she pointed around.
"Me? It was your witch, Zest. She used some potion," said Athena.
"That's true," commented Apollo.
Amoris sighed, as she went near Zest and saw Rex trying to patch Mirabel's hand. It was torn and she winced.
"Rex!"
"But, how did you...come out?"
Amoris smiled. "We won. A sacrifice one of the goddesses had to make. Nyx is gone. So is Phantasos. Pandora said she would be able to resurrect Phantasos because Nyx gave her life for him. That was one of the special things. And she gave us a box."
"But, then..."
"Of course," said Poseidon wearily. "The smoke obscured her."
Amoris didn't know whether or not to thank Zest for the smoke. It'd helped her. But it'd killed the factions.
"Do we have an antidote?" she asked Rex.
Rex looked around. "You know, Amoris. This. It saddens me."
Amoris sighed, getting up. "I know. I wished we could be together on better conditions, you know? I didn't think it'd get this far."
"But, Amoris," said Athena. "Just tell us one thing. How come the blue moon didn't come this year?"
"Because Phantasos messed with everyone's head. It did, but on that day, he increased the spell which Zest had created because she released a gas. The Forgetting Flower is quite pungent."
"You know lots about them," said Apollo, holding his face. Rex came near him.
"What happened to you?"
"Got hit by a metallic shoe."
"Anybody missed me?" piped up someone.
Amoris knew that voice as Kairos and Candy chuckled. "Phantasos!"
He looked around. "Woah...this place...is dead."
"They had to go," said Candy.
Eric got up, looking groggy as Mirabel went near wearily. She looked a bit scared. "Eric?"
He looked at her. "Mirabel? What are you doing here? And where are we?"
"In Olympus," she said. "What happened? I got so scared. That's Rex, by the way."
He looked around, saw Sera's wide, guilty, angry expression. He saw the reunion of the goddess who'd found love and created destruction.
"Why are we here?"
Mirabel sighed. "Well, Sera gave you some fruit."
Eric squinted, trying to remember.
"It was Forvice," Sera huffed. "Forever Service."
Mirabel smiled at him. "I am glad you're okay."
Eric looked at her as though he never saw her before. "I am sorry, Mirabel. I didn't think I would hurt you so much..."
He felt guilty for loving someone because of their looks.
"I don't think I am ready to be friends just yet," she said. "I've gone through a lot."
Eric nodded in pain. "Okay."
Mirabel yearned to tell him, but now she needed time to heal. Zest was trying to heal Hans. The fact the he lay there, like some dead beast made her a bit worried.
"So, Kairos," said Athena. "You're on our side, right?"
Candy looked terse as Amoris locked her haws, scowling. Cunning came out from the box that Athena held.
"Good one, Kairos!" he said, gaining a high five as Hera looked at him bitterly.
"You fool!" she called. "I gave the paper to you!" She indicated the paper which they gods had written upon and she'd procured for him.
"Poor soul," he said, shaking his head.
Apollo raised his brows. "Since when were you on our side?"
"Since Hades ditched you guys."
Athena's tongue stretched out as Kairos suddenly pulled it and threw her far off and Hans caught it.
"Zest? Fan-fancy ma-making a potion?" asked Hans.
She laughed as she shook her head. "Are you gonna change, Athena?"
She held her head high as Rex took a look at Apollo's misshapen face.
Cunning looked around, the factions stirring, some of them dying. "Well, that's a lot."
Kairos walked up to Hera. "I only fooled Cunning to get out."
She raised her brows in suspicion. "Well, I suppose we can not be enemies."
"I was hoping for a bit more friendship," he said, rubbing his hair. "But, you can take your time."
He walked away, a smile on his face. At least, he'd conquered his fear.
"Thank goodness you didn't bring everyone, Athena," said Hades, appearing. "Do you know what big job it is?"
He saw Amoris and she went to hug him. "I will come home. What do you think, Rex?"
"Okay. I think I can work with the potions by then, for all," he smiled. He walked towards her as she looked up.
"Yes?"
"Stay rebellious for me."
