His room was on the first floor so they reached there by the staircase and immediately went inside of the room, locking the door behind.
Kabir busied himself in removing the coat he was wearing and by now Nyla had made her way to the balcony in the room she'd discovered in the morning. This certainly had the best view from whole of the bungalow.
"Nyla." Kabir's husky voice made her snap her head in the same direction where she was busy looking into space in the balcony.
"What was my fault Kabir? That I am the daughter of a cunning businessman? That I didn't want to marry? That I wanted to lead a normal life like other girls?" Came her soft voice that was barely audible, but Kabir understood pretty well.
"You're at fault that you caught an eye of a person like me. Someone who you will now consider as your only reason to care and worry for." Kabir said engulfing her into his warm embrace.
"What do you mean by a person like you?" She asked softly.
"Didn't you say the person who has coldest personality you've ever seen. " He replied with a known look.
"No, you're not. That's a lie. I mean I thought you were but now it's like everything has flipped." She pouted.
"Why is that?" He pressed further.
"Because you're the only one who stood up for me in front of everyone. You're not cold. You're a good person." She said without even thinking what she was saying.
"I am?" Kabir asked lifting her chin.
She nodded her head with tears flowing out of her eyes. She never thought her father would stoop this low just for the context of his business.
"What did I say if I will see tears in your eyes? You don't take my words seriously Nyla?" He said in a stern voice.
"What am I supposed to do after witnessing what happened moments ago?" She cried even more.
"I'll make their life a living hell. How dare they do this to you?" Kabir said in a hard tone.
"Nobody cares for me so, it's nothing unexpected." She said in a low voice.
"You're mine. You are my wife and the only person that will matter to me for the rest of my life." Kabir said and Nyla looked at him with tears, yet a smile on her lips.
"Really?" She asked just to hear him again.
"Hmm." He nodded his head and she hugged him in return.
"Why did you agree to marry me?" She suddenly questioned in a low voice, slightly scared of his response.
"Why are you asking this? Don't you want to stay married to me?" He questioned back.
"No." She shook her head.
"But I won't leave you even if you don't want to stay as my wife. You're only mine." He said in a hard tone and Nyla looked flabbergasted.
"I meant I don't take this as a forced act. I want to stay married to you." She replied in a low voice.
"My Nyla." He questioned or more like declared.
"Your Nyla." She repeated and the very next second Kabir crashed down his lips on hers.
He was kissing her feverishly while Nyla was trying her best to respond. His touch was creating wonders in her body. She could feel the spark of his touch and her hand made its way to his stubbled cheeks. He sucked on her bottom lip making Nyla part her lips in response and he took this opportunity to slide his tongue inside her mouth.
He kept kissing her till she was out of breath and Nyla was responding with the same intensity. Her legs were now wrapped around his waist and her arms wrapped around his neck. As they parted their lips, she placed her head on his chest, and blushed about what happened moments ago.
"My Nyla." He said pulling her face gently and placed a small peck on her lips.
//////////
A week had passed since the drama that was caused by Arvind Rai. Nyla had grown used to her new life and Kabir was same as ever. He would definitely care for Nyla in many ways, but there wasn't that big of a change in their relationship.
"Nyla." Hearing Kabir's voice she quickly exited the bathroom she was getting dressed in and back to their bedroom only to see him sitting on the edge of the bed with his stoic expression.
"Yes?" She asked in a soft voice.
He gestured her to his unruly tie which he had now made a habit of getting done from her no matter how he would do each work of his on own previously.
She made him sit on the bed as usual and stood between his legs only to start with his tie. Under a minute she was done with it and as she made an attempt to get away from him, he tightened his arms around her, caging with his legs.
"Kabir-" She breathed out.
"Shh." He murmured settling her on his lap, making her heart go in a frenzy.
"How do you feel now? Did Mr. Arvind say anything to you after the breakfast. Or did anyone else?" He questioned with a straight face.
She shook her head at his every question.
"Kiss me." He demanded all of a sudden.
Nyla's eyes were wide open at his words and she immediately shook her head frantically. He raised his perfect eyebrows in response and she sighed in defeat.
She quickly placed a chaste kiss on his cheek and retreated back within seconds, trying to hide her reddened cheeks as much as possible.
"Not this. I want a proper one." He said gesturing to his lips, still with a blank look so none could tell how he was teasing her.
Nyla knew it's better to not argue with him since she had discovered his playful side in these days. She cupped his face with her hands and pressed her lips on his pecking there with the utmost love and care she had.
"You're killing me." He murmured grazing his nose with hers.
She immediately placed her head on his shoulder gently as she was sitting on him sideways and he didn't make any attempt to remove her or change their position by any means.
"Aren't you getting late for college?" He questioned after moments of silence.
"Hmm. I don't want to go." She pouted.
"Why?" He questioned again.
"Because I feel tired." In reality she was enjoying his embrace and the time they spend together.
"I told you not to stay awake till late. But your movie was more important to you." He scolded in a stern voice.
"I don't feel tired anymore. See." Saying this she got up from his lap and started twirling around. She didn't like his scoldings that were directed towards her.
"Stop Nyla. You'll get hurt." He stopped her by taking Nyla in his embrace.
"Kabir, you're so boring. Just like oldies." She said hitting his chest.
"Oldie?" He glared at her and Nyla pursed her lips in response. She didn't want him to be angry in the first place.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean that. It was just a slip of tongue." She said not meeting his eyes.
"Hey, hey relax. I was just teasing you." He said pulling her closer to him.
This girl was too innocent.
"Really?" She asked cheekily.
"Hmm." Was his response while leading them outside his room.
The time Kabir had spent with her was certainly unexpected. The whole week he looked at her with a straight face. There would be a smile at rare times, but this was way better than a cold look he had for others.
She was ecstatic seeing the new Kabir with her and the things she felt inside of hers wasn't making it any easy.
//////////
Seated on the armchair kept in the balcony of Kabir's room, her mind was busy wandering onto various thoughs. Not for once she'd gone or talked to her parents. It was only because this time they'd crossed the limit, she believed. She would accept any demand of them till a point, but this was just not acceptable.
Sure, she now doesn't regret marrying Kabir as he's letting her do whatever she wants and supports her in every matter. The person who she never thought would spend the rest of her life with. The person who she now have started caring for more than anyone else in her life.
She never knew when she slept thinking about what all is going on in her life in the balcony itself. It was already in the night and she was only waiting for Kabir.
It was aound thirty minutes later that she woke up and frowned seeing the position she was in. The place was more comfortable and she could feel warmth coming from behind.
As she turned her face, opening her eyes completely this time she saw Kabir looking at her with a straight face. It meant she was now seated on Kabir who himself was seated on the armchair she was sitting on before. She didn't even know when he arrived.
"Kabir." She said in a soft whisper as if she couldn't believe he was actually there.
"Nyla." He replied back in a husky voice.
"When did you come back from the office?" She asked touching his cheek.
"Around 15 minutes back, love." He replied and she blushed in response.
"I was waiting for you since long." She said smiling.
"Hmm? I'll start coming early from tomorrow." He replied with a straight face.
"You will?" She asked adorably.
"Yes. Now tell me, did anyone disturb you or said anything related to that matter?" He questioned being serious this time.
"No. I didn't met them since a week. All I do is go to the college and come back in your room. I don't even get out of the room." She replied honestly.
"Just some more days Nyla. I've found a solution." He replied looking into distance.
Nyla didn't ask him anything further. She very well know Kabir's behaviour and for her, him talking this much with her is enough. She has decided not to act as a burden on him. The only person left for her now is Kabir and she doesn't really want to lose him seeing his temper and behaviour.
"You won't ask me about the solution?" Kabir asked with a smirk.
"No." She just shook her head.
She lifted her head which was rested on Kabir's shoulder and looked directly in his eyes this time.
"I like this you." She said.
"This me?" He questioned back.
"The way you behave with me now." She replied shrugging lightly.
"Have I ever behaved in a bad way with you or a way you didn't like?" He asks again.
"No. You didn't even talk to me since years. I always had a longing for my favourite mate of this bungalow." She replied with a small smile.
"Even more than Esha?" He asked.
"Yeah. She became my bestfriend only after you stopped talking to me." She replied truthfully.
"Being a good person didn't really got well with the members of this bungalow. Now see, being someone who I am at present is somewhat perfect. You don't even have an idea how vile of a person those three are. Mr. Rai, Mr. Sinha and my father." Kabir said, looking ahead into space.
"There had to be someone who would get them back on the track to control their disruptions. I know they haven't stopped considering what they did a week back, but it has reduced." He continued, taking a glance at her in between.
Her eyes could only see his black hair and thin lips as they were moving continuously as he was busy telling her things. How his hand ran through his hair multiple of times in between or how he would scratch his beard, she noticed every single thing now. Her husband was a handsome man undoubtedly.
"I am with you now, ain't I?" He said looking at her this time, breaking the chain of her thoughts.
"You are. But why did you agree to Mr. Arvind's deal and the fact you had to marry Esha for it?" She questioned the most important doubt she had nowadays.
"I only agreed for the deal, but I had planned each step before only. Their business isn't really at a good position currently and they needed support. So my father as usual agreed. But I knew this wouldn't be enough for them and now I am sure after hearing your words. They crave for power in the business field and would go at any heights for the same." He replied honestly.
"And they put down Esha at the stake. They said they would marry her in return for this deal and my father instantly agreed because he thought it would be beneficial for me seeing the type of man I was. I denied at every point, but at last he said he would cut off my name from the business and everything and I couldn't let that happen. So, I agreed at the end." He replied, with a deep sigh.
Hearing this her thoughts onto got more bitter about the other people of the bungalow, including her parents. Somewhere or the other, he too was bound to accept it.
"I never wanted to marry her personally. You know it very well how I didn't even liked to talk to her in the childhood. It was all because of the pressure and the deal." Kabir continued with a sigh.
"Then why are you okay with being married to me?" Nyla gained the courage to ask.
"Because it's you. My Nyla, for whom I would do anything even if it meant getting married to you just for saving you from Mr. Rai and his demands." He replied without any hesitation.
"But what if Esha comes back?" She asked, voice cracking at the end.
His head instantly snapped towards her at the question she just asked. Didn't what all he just said wasn't enough for her to realize how Esha didn't mean anything to him? Their marriage was nothing more than a deal which now didn't even happen and he couldn't be more glad.
"Why would I leave you Nyla? I said that I didn't even want to marry her in the first place. If I would've married her that day then I am sure you would see me even more of a cold person than I am now. I know she wasn't the one for me." He replied without any hesitation.
"Well, am I?" She asked pouting.
"No doubt in that Mrs Kabir Singhania." He replied huskily and Nyla blushed in response.
"Kabir, I need to tell you something." Nyla said after moments of silence.
"Hmm?" Kabir responded.
"That I like you." She said in a go.
Kabir kept gazing at her with a straight face. His eyes didn't blink for a couple of minutes and Nyla's heart was beating loudly in anxiety. She knew she liked the kind of person he was with her and she didn't want to deny the fact. She just wanted to tell him everything as he was now the only important person in her life.
"I am sorry. Please just forget what I said." Nyla said, looking all embarrassed and quickly tried to get up from his lap.
As she was about to run inside back to the room, a hand caught her wrist stopping at there itself.
"Come here." Kabir said in a deep voice and even this time Nyla couldn't deny.
He made her sit back on his lap sideways, but this time Nyla didn't have a smile on her face. Instead there was a look of sadness and guilt that she ruined everything.
"I have always liked you." Was the only thing Kabir said and again a full blown smile reached up on Nyla's face in an instant.
"What? Are you serious?" She asked shocked.
"Hmm." He replied with a straight face.
He crashed his lips on her and started kissing her. The kiss was full of love and passion. Nyla was responding with the same intensity.
As the kiss ended, she rested her head on his shoulder. The place she could even spent the whole of her day. The place where she now only feels safe.
"Tomorrow is Mohit Uncle and Shalini Aunty's wedding anniversary. Your mother said there will be a party and we need to be present for it. Together." She ended with a satisfying smile.
"Is it? Don't worry, I am not planning to leave your side for once." He said smirking.
//////////
Dressed in a beautiful maroon colored saree which enhanced her almond shaped face and brown eyes, Nyla was looking ethereal. Her hair were curled up into a perfect updo and her face adorned with the slightest of makeup.
The saree was specially gifted to her by Kabir.
Sitting on the bed of their room, she was waiting for him to take her as Kabir had gotten some urgent work from the office. The party had already started 20 minutes back, but Nyla could care less. She was just showing her presence as a task. A task which was given by her mother in-law as now she didn't have anything to do with the Rai's and Sinha's.
"Nyla." Kabir's husky voice made her snap her head in the same direction.
There Kabir was standing in his full glory dressed in a black tuxedo looking handsome as ever. No one could deny the fact how handsome and smart Kabir has always been.
"Kabir." Nyla breathed out excitedly, getting up from the plush bed.
"My my, I didn't know my wife could look sexy and beautiful the same time." He said grazing his fingers on her cheek.
Nyla blushed in response and hid her face in his chest. She could feel his chest vibrate at his laugh and this made her feel those tingling sessions in her body.
"You ready to go?" He asked in a comparatively soft tone.
"Hmm." Nyla nodded, her face immediately converted into a blank look.
"Don't listen to anyone Nyla down there. I am warning you here itself that they might try to do anything possible." Kabir warned looking concerned as ever.
"If you'll support me that time, it'll be enough for me." Nyla voiced out making Kabir smile.
Only she could make him smile.
"Then you don't have to worry about a single thing." He said pecking her forehead with the utmost care and affection.
Soon they made their way to the massive lobby of the bungalow which connects the three wings. It was enough to hold a party for 250 guests and it was obvious how Mohit Sinha wouldn't leave a chance to brag about his wealth.
The party and decorations certainly looked beautiful. They had surely spent a hefty amount on the preparations and it was visible. Everyone looked as if they were having the time of their lives except Nyla and Kabir who looked very obvious to the fact they didn't want to be present here in the first place. Both the husband wife had same thoughts regarding this.
"Kabir!" A voice called out and both of theirs head snap in the same direction.
There on the small stage was standing Mohit Sinha, his wife and Arvind Rai and his wife.
Nyla gritted her teeth in return. How successfully they'd ignored them for the past hour and how badly they wanted to do for the rest of the time.
"Come, love." Kabir's gentle voice broke her trance and she nodded with a small smile.
When Kabir was there with her, she didn't need to worry about anything.
"Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Sinha." Kabir said in a monotone and they said their 'Thank you's' back in a comparatively cheerful tone.
Nyla didn't bother to wish them. It was clear how she had no politeness and respect towards the four. They'd somewhat destroyed her life by the deal no matter she didn't let that happen or how this marriage had benefited her and given a husband like Kabir. At the end, they did force her and never showed love and care.
"My boy, I have a good news for you." Arvind said being all too excited, appearing out of nowhere.
Nyla furrowed her eyebrows in response. She had no idea what they were planning this time, but one thing she knew was it wasn't good.
"And what that good news might be?" Kabir asked with a straight face.
"You don't have to stay in this forced marriage any longer. Everything will be going according to what we had planned in the first place from now on. I know how much of a trouble Nyla can be so, don't worry. You'll be free from her responsibilities soon." Arvind said and this time, anger wasn't the feeling that crossed Nyla's heart. It was hurt.
How could her own father say a thing like this in front of everyone? Doesn't he have any kind of love and care towards her?
"How dare you?" Kabir's voice boomed through the lobby and by now he'd clutched Arvind's collar tightly in his hands.
"How dare you say those things about my wife Mr. Rai? A man like you should be ashamed of your wrongdoings till now and here you're trying your best to worsen it." He shouted looking at him murderously.
"And how many times do I have to say that I don't want a man like you both to interfere in the matters of Nyla and I? Can't you tolerate your own daughter being happy with me?" He yelled looking at him raging eyes.
Nyla's teary gaze was settled onto and angry Kabir who looked like he could murder anyone right now. His eyes were red, jaw clenched making her heart miss a beat and what all she could hear her father speaking was only making everything worse.
"She cannot be my daughter. She couldn't even help her own father in a deal and you're saying she's my daughter. She's nothing, but a brat and an unwanted responsibility on my shoulders." Arvind shouted back and by now tears were flowing out of Nyla's eyes freely.
"She's not your f*cking responsibility. She is my wife and I am more than happy to take care of her. You don't need to worry about that fact." Kabir said with a menacing glare.
"And remember one thing, marrying Esha was forceful for me which I never wanted to do in my existence, but having a wife like Nyla makes me proud. She's the best thing that has happened to me and this marriage made that happen. If I find anyone of you interfering in Nyla's or my life, the consequences won't be good." Kabir continued pulling Nyla in his embrace in a comforting manner.
After a long time, she could breathe properly now that she had him beside her.
"But Kabir, you loved me and we were going to marry." A voice was heard making everyone's head snap in the same direction.
