❄︎

Usually it doesn't take long for a girl to accept her husband's house and live there like it's hers, taking up the homely feeling.

But it wasn't the same with Kaeya.

She had to find up places where she wouldn't be able to see him. That's the only way she felt better otherwise the bitter memories would surface her mind.

And then it was Yuvaan who kept making advances, trying to repent and make her forgive him as soon as possible.

She loved a steaming cup of coffee just as she wakes up and he would be ready with the same which she couldn't ignore because of the respect of food.

His looks full of regret and guilt would make her insides churn.

She didn't ask him what happened with Miesha after she was gone for better. Maybe she didn't wanted to know or maybe it was that she wouldn't be able to handle the truth? Or maybe and most importantly that what all happened with Miesha and him didn't matter to her at all.

Yes, it was the last one.

Those two had caused enough damage and she just felt like she didn't want to know more about them because it would only destroy her mind.

"Kaeya." His hesitant voice reached up her ears making her snap out of her thoughts.

She just simply hummed in response, not even paying him a glance.

"T-There's a business party. Since I-I am married to y-you, they've given me an invitation for Mr. and Mrs. Shah. So, will you-"

He was asking her all the while hesitantly when her voice stopped him.

"On what basis are you even asking me Yuvaan? For what I know, you don't really like my presence. I remember the old days when someone else was your priority over me, something you said would never change but it did." Kaeya blurted.

"Enough Kaeya. Enough. This is the last time we're bringing Miesha between us. Because I have had enough. Taunt me with whatever you want but that woman will not be a part of us anymore." Yuvaan gritted out making Kaeya shake her head.

"Let's keep everything aside for once Yuvaan. And just give me an honest answer for what I am about to ask." Kaeya breather out and Yuvaan instantly nodded his head, interest oozing out.

"Weren't you the one who first included Miesha between us? That too when we were bestest of friends. What was the reason?" She asked glancing at him.

A wavered breath came out of Yuvaan's mouth at Kaeya's question. But it wasn't again and again that this chance would come so he decided to answer everything honestly no matter she would appreciate this or not.

"I am not gonna lie but this was something I forced myself to do it. Maybe you don't know it but everyone used to tease me that I don't have a friend except you or that I always be a coward only talking to you the whole time, hiding behind your back from everyone. I just needed to show those football mates that I can make a friend too who isn't you, Kaeya." He responded sighing at the end.

Kaeya gave him a bewildered look in return. Was he this easy to be influenced?

"And you fell in love with her too in the time being?" She faced so much difficulty to ask this question.

"I didn't love or like her at all. I liked you a lot. What I felt for her was completely forced from my side. I didn't had the courage to ask you to be my girlfriend and confess. And the constant teasings I got was another matter. I was afraid. I was afraid that you might reject me and our relationship would end. I didn't wanted that Kaeya." He replied shaking his head at the bitter memory.

And before Kaeya could intervene, he continued speaking.

"I let them play with me Kaeya. I let them make me dance on their apparent orders getting influenced so easily. I was the one who wasn't able to say what they were actually doing. It's all my fault. All mine." He let out in a hoarse voice.

"Fine Yuvaan. I am not blaming you for that. Everyone does mistakes which they could regret in future especially in their teenage and also, who am I even to say in this matter? After all these were your decisions." Kaeya nodded being the mature one.

"But one thing I was upset in this whole matter was your behaviour with me. You yourself said that you didn't love Miesha yet you behaved so cruelly with me when you were with her. And what did you do when those boys were molesting me? You ran away to her who was clearly faking her injury. You used to know my lies within seconds, then what happened that time?" She continued, breathing heavily.

The emotions that were pent up inside of her were slowly and eventually coming out, them being at the border of their release. They really needed to talk and understand each other's perspectives.

"I am really sorry Kae-"

"I don't need your Sorry Yuvaan. I just needed your embarace that time, but you chose her over me. And now I have to thank you that you made me so strong. Neither do I need your sorry nor your embrace." She hissed, running a hand through her hair harshly.

"Kaeya I agree what I did was very wrong. But I just couldn't have kept you waiting. I knew I would've fucked up real bad if I'd confessed anything to you. And about the day of football match, I saw Tanishq coming towards you. I knew he was a good guy and that was the only reason I didn't come near you. We had distanced by then and I didn't find it the right thing to do. Other wise I wouldn't leave you alone there Kaeya. You had to move on from me." He rasped out taking a seat beside her, though maintaining a healthy distance.

One thing Kaeya knew was he was being honest. Doesn't matter his explanation was nonsense or that the reasons behind his doing were unacceptable, he was just being brutally honest and she was glad of it.

His teenage took a toll on him on the decisions he made for himself, for her, for their friendship and on their bond. From the starting if one was at fault was Yuvaan. His one wrong step eventually wronged everything.

"Really? You thought I could move on? Move on from what? Oh yeah. Move on from my so called best friend who betrayed me for someone whom he had a relationship for a few days. Wow." Kaeya scoffed, not believing he actually wanted her to move on from their friendship.

His fault. His everything. And the consequences had to be faced by her. Only her.

"And who are you to decide that I should move on, huh? Who gave you that right? You could have asked me just once, just once, then we would have been in completely different situation Yuvaan. But no, you decided to do everything you wanted and like you'd made your mind." Kaeya shouted, pointing an accusing finger towards his direction.

"Kaeya I didn't want to give you any kind of hopes. I forced myself towards that girl. I never loved her neither did I like her. It was just because I wanted to get away from you and I thought my attraction would soon convert into some genuine feelings for her." Yuvaan reason, being completely honest.

"Oh yeah? You wanted to get away from me, you did. And I respected your decision. Now when I want to get away from you, why the fuck can't you let me? I was happy in my life, until you came. Even during school. No Yuvaan was there in my life who took all our decisions by himself. I WAS HAPPY UNTIL YOU CAME. MR. YUVAAN SHAH." She yelled at the top of her lungs at the very end.

And the very next moment she walked off the place she was sitting on, leaving him behind who had nothing but guilt and regret tatted over his face.

His childish and unreasonable decisions did everything wrong. Everything.

//////////

The blinding lights, loud chatter, music in the background irritated Yuvaan to no extent. And the fact that was practically alone didn't help either.

After arriving at the business party, the only thing he'd done was to converse with other businessmen and businesswoman. Though the only motive was the same, but according to him it would've been better if Kaeya was with him. Beside him as his wife.

Because now he had to do everything alone.

Talking to a leading businessman about the current situation in the market, Yuvaan didn't expect his gaze to move towards the entrance. Neither he expected to see Kaeya entering.

And not just alone.

She was with Tanishq. Them being too close such that even their arms were crossed.

Yuvaan's eyes glanced over Kaeya's dress.

Wearing a maroon gown, with a V neckline and slit on the left leg that displayed her long and slender leg, she looked absolute ethereal.

For a minute he couldn't believe it was Kaeya.

She preferred to wear silk shorts and bralette whenever she was at home, not at all hesitant from Yuvaan. Only he knows how he takes cold shower 3 times a day.

And now she looked so enchanting.

No doubt he wanted to go to her and held her from the waist making everyone know for sure that she was his. His wife.

Excusing himself politely from the person he was speaking to, he started to walk towards her who was laughing genuinely at something Tanishq just spoke.

And then out of nowhere another man appeared, dressed nicely, looking too good on the other side of Tanishq and lacing his arm around him making Yuvaan furrow his eyebrows.

"Kaeya." He voiced out as he reached them who were talking amongst themselves.

Kaeya's head snapped towards him and he was looking the same she'd seen him back home when he was leaving while she was just simply lazing out in the lounge.

A black tuxedo was what he was wearing.

Yuvaan wasn't a 6 pack abs guy but surely he had a hard chest and toned body. Maybe it won't take him long to have those. And his 6 ft height benefitted a lot to him.

"You said you won't come with me to the party." He said, trying his best to mask the disappointed expression.

"I said I won't come with you to the party because I was coming with Tanishq." Kaeya faked a smile.

A cough broke them out of the trance and it was Anay who was giving Kaeya a mischievous look making her roll her eyes.

"Uhh- he is-"

Anay stammered dramatically and before he could continue, Kaeya cut him off.

"Oh yeah. Anay, meet Yuvaan. You obviously know who he is but anyways, my husband. And Yuvaan, that's Anay. Tanishq's husband."

And the first thing Yuvaan did after listening to this was releasing a breath of relief.

Thank goodness this guy is married otherwise Yuvaan was formulating plans to kill him in his mind after seeing his and Kaeya's closeness.

"Nice to meet you Anay. And nice to meet you too Tanishq now that we didn't have a proper introduction." Yuvaan politely said with a small smile.

The two men simultaneously shook his hand in a firm manner, straightening their backs making Kaeya sigh at this couple.

These two were no less in drama than each other.

"Come with me, Kaeya. I really want you to meet some important people." Yuvaan asked Kaeya with hope gleaming in his eyes.

What is she supposed to do?

Seeing his expression, she really wanted to agree right at the moment, but she also felt as if she needed time.

"Give me a few minutes with them Yuvaan. I promise I'll come to you myself." Kaeya responded in a firm tone, it oozing with seriousness.

"Okay." He nodded, believing her.

And with that he walked off, not before giving Kaeya one last look.

//////////

Kaeya, Tanishq and Anay were doing only one thing since 10 minutes. And that was finding Yuvaan in this large expanse.

Kaeya for once genuinely felt to be near him as he'd asked but she couldn't find him. And that's when she had to take Tanishq and Anay's help as well.

"Let's go to the backside of this building." Anay suggested and the other two nodded their heads in agreement.

The three were laughing randomly, bitching about Miesha who according to them was a friendship wrecker and teasing each other when they finally reached the backdoor of the venue that gave them the view of the backside.

And it was then that their eyes landed on Yuvaan and her.

Her means Miesha.

His arms were awkwardly wrapped around the woman's shoulder who was herself awkwardly hugging Yuvaan back.

Miesha wasn't like the one who Kaeya had seen years back. The girl who used to ooze out of confidence, boldness and sass now looked pale, fragile and much older than her age.

'Was it because of the losses her husband's and her company were facing? Then she should cry more now that it's going to shut soon.' Thinking this Kaeya mentally laughed.

So, was this Yuvaan and Miesha's reunion?

Reunion of two love birds?

And before Kaeya could react by any means, Tanishq had stormed off to the two, landing a hard punch on Yuvaan's jaw, holding his collar in a firm grip. Yet it's impact made him fall.

Miesha had a shocked face seeing the scene in front of her.

And Kaeya didn't know how to react. She was frozen at the spot.

Groaning painfully, Yuvaan slowly got up only to glare at Tanishq and before anything could happen, Tanishq had again punched him in the stomach.

"Such a sick bastard you are. Wasn't giving pain to Kaeya enough for you years back now that you're cheating on her? Don't forget that you were the one who married her, not the other way around. I didn't do anything the last time but I swear I am going to kill you. How dare you play with Kaeya's emotions, huh?" Tanishq spat, repeatedly punching him.

And that was all it took for Yuvaan to lose his calm.

Cheater?

Sick bastard?

Play with Kaeya?

He never did that. For sure not after his realization years back.

Dusting the imaginary dust off his tuxedo, he gave Tanishq a threatening look, a glare that was harsh at a level Kaeya hadn't ever seen him with. His jaw was clenched making vein pop out on his neck, his hair all messy now unlike few moments ago.

And with that, a punch was landed on Tanishq from Yuvaan who used as much strength as he had. This was all it took for both of them to indulge in a full blown fight, both of them continuously landing punches on each other.

Anay shook Kaeya from her trance making her realize what was happening and the very next moment they ran towards the two who were still busy fighting like hot blooded teenagers.

Miesha was crying like a pathetic bitch seeing the two fight.

Anay didn't let Kaeya step between the two, trying himself to separate them but it was nearly impossible seeing the level of loathe and wrath they had now and the madness to fight with each other.

"Guys please stop....." Kaeya tried to butt in but her voice didn't even reach the two's ears.

They still kept fighting and it was then that Kaeya's eyes reached over to Miesha who was looking at the scene with a worried look making Kaeya grit her teeth.

"What did you do this time, huh? I swear I am going to leave you on the roads because I am not the same Kaeya who will take your bullshit. Remember this and start counting your happy days left. Because after this, don't expect me to not do anything." Kaeya hissed at Miesha, digging her nails in her wrist.

"I- I am sorry. I- I swear I didn't do anything t-this time-" Miesha was pathetically crying when Kaeya's glare shut her off.

"Out. Out from my sight right now!" She yelled and Miesha didn't waste any other second to scramble off the scene.

Kaeya's eyes glanced over the two and upon noticing that they still hadn't stopped, she could do only one thing.

"Yuvaan, stop fighting with him right now." Kaeya's stern yell reached up Yuvaan's ears making him freeze.

His fist was held up in the air as if he was about to punch Tanishq but held himself back because of Kaeya.

And he did stop.

Lowering his hand and giving Tanishq one last threatening glare, he took two steps away and Anay didn't waste any other second to check upon Tanishq who was trying to calm him down.

Kaeya's brown orbs met Yuvaan's who was breathing heavily, wiping the blood off his lips with his thumb, breathing heavily making a wavered breath come out of her mouth.

Both of the men looked in pain.

Tanishq still had someone to comfort him but Yuvaan had no one who was still breathing heavily, his appearance making Kaeya's heart clench.

She started nearing the two with slow steps. Yuvaan thought she would come to him. He had full faith.

And all of it crashed down when she walked past him to Tanishq, now bending down to his level and talking something to him in a low voice.

It was all that took for Yuvaan to lose his calm and patience with her as he stormed off the place with a harsh glare directly to the parking lot, not even glancing at Kaeya once.

Maybe she took revenge of what he did to her years back. A time when she needed him the most.

And when he too needed her the most, she wasn't with him, instead with that Tanishq or so he thought.

Because he missed the part where she was calling out his name, trying to catch up with him in her uncomfortable gown who drove away from the place, this time his anger taking out the best of him.

//////////

With shivering hands and harsh breathing, she tried to tap the passcode to his penthouse but it was hard for her.

She was almost getting a panick attack.

And suddenly the door clicked open and she instantly ran inside.

It was pitch black.

Nothing could be seen except the few silhouettes due to the moonlight coming in from the balcony.

Losing her calm, she was searching for him in a haste knowing he was in there. She could feel it knowing there wasn't any other place he would be at.

"Yuvaan..." She slowly called out, but received no response.

"Yuvaan p-please tell me where y-you are..." She continued, sniffling a little.

And then her eyes landed on him.

He was seated on a barstool that was kept adjacent to the kitchen island, his coat long lost forgotten, the thin white shirt clinging to his hard body, top two buttons opened or maybe torn.

His hair were messily toppled on his head, the left hand trying to clean the blood on his right arm, pain evident on his face and more of it was the loneliness he felt.

"Yuvaan." She breathed out.

Realizing her presence, Yuvaan all of a sudden turned stiff before beginning to say something.

"Go away Kaeya." He muttered harshly and she felt a sudden urge to sob.

"No..." She murmured, trying to get closer to him.

"Why are you even here? You should be with Tanishq right now that his health was more important to you-"

He was gritting these words out with clenched teeth when her soft voice cut him off.

"But I want to be with you. I want to look after your health." She breathed out softly.

"Too? Didn't seem like that to me when you didn't look at me even once-"

He kept on speaking when Kaeya took his hand in hers, now cleaning the wound ever so softly, his red and bloody knuckles making tears appear in her eyes.

"And that was because I had to talk to Tanishq that it was unnecessary of him to punch you first." She spoke making Yuvaan give her a look of unbelief.

Is she serious?

"By now I have realized Yuvaan that you won't do those mistakes again. Specially won't repeat what all you did earlier. No one is perfect, but we also didn't know what was happening between you and Miesha there and that was the only reason of Tanishq being at fault as he didn't know the whole thing." She continued and by now she had wrapped a bandage around his knucles after applying ointment.

"What happened there Yuvaan?" She asked wiping the blood off his lip with her thumb that made him hold her hand that was now cupping his face.

"She was just apologizing Kaeya. She wanted to put a closure which we didn't have 9 years ago." He rasped out, now wiping the tear that escaped her eyes.

Pulling her self closer to him, he made her sit on his right thigh, on his lap, who couldn't resist this action of his, leaning on him now.

"On what basis did you guys end your relationship then?" She finally asked and he gave her a painful smile in return.

"Th-at day you left everything behind, I- I realized how wrong it was of me to do all that KayKay. And as soon as I began to explain Miesha that I can't continue forcing myself in our relationship, she understood in a flash. I was shocked because this wasn't the reaction I had expected but when she started telling me that the only reason she did all of this was because she was jealous of our bond, our friendship and that you even had feelings for me, she couldn't bear that. Her wrong actions and jealousy and my decisions ruined everything." He let out with a distant look on his face.

"We ended right there. We never talked after that. No explanation was exchanged and today was the day we met after these many years. She apologized Kaeya and I simply accepted it. It was my fault too and I couldn't let it affect our future anymore. We needed a closure and we got that. I am not saying you should forgive us too, but what I did was what felt right to me. Because from now on, there's no Miesha in our lives. I will bear anything but you bringing her between us." He continued, caressing her hair ever so softly.

Now was the time he knew he had to tell everything to her, no matter it would be painful to hear. Since Miesha played with both of them.

But in reality, it didn't feel painful for Kaeya. For the first time she felt satisfied. She felt contented. And maybe now a part of her wanted to forgive Yuvaan because according to her, no one is perfect and everyone deserved a chance.

How was the chapter?

What do you think about Yuvaan's explanation?

If Kaeya wouldn't have gone back to Yuvaan after the fight, then there wouldn't have been any difference between her and him. She's one good person. Don't y'all agree?

Love,
Myra
