I waited for the shuttle to come as we were staying on the launch pad of MiraHQ. This was going to be an epic adventure.

I was part of a Space organization called Association of Space exploration and Planet life (known as ASEP), And it was an organization where we explored space and other planets. It was more like a science team, but in space. Our headquarters was the MiraHQ (Where I am right now), And it was high up in the sky. It was a huge building consisting of three launch pads and lots of tall buildings. This was our research center. It looked more like a fairy tale building.

The launchpad that we were standing on was huge. It was about 400 feet long and 500 feet wide. People used it for massive landings, like the Skeld.

A total of ten people (including me) were going to board this spaceship and head up towards another enormous ship called the Skeld. It was where we were going to do our tasks.

And I was waiting for the Space pod to be ready when I saw nine other astronauts in their colored suits. They were the ones who were going to come with me to the Skeld.

When it comes to traveling in space, we use color codes instead of our real names. So that's why my color code name is red, and I get a red suit. That's what they do on our planet. "Colors come in handy in space," our leader once said.

Then, one guy came towards me. It was White. "Hey, Red! Are you excited about this Skeld trip?" White said excitedly.

"Yeah! I bet we're going to explore and do lots of cool stuff," I said.

"You're wrong about that," Black said as He stepped in between us. He was mean and grumpy. I gave him a weird stare.

"This is just gonna suck," Black said.

"And how do you know about that?" Purple said, joining in with us.

"We're only doing practice training," Black said. "This is only training to see if you can do things appropriate in space. We're only going to try to fix the ship there, and we're only going to do tasks.."

"WHAT?!" Me and White said in dismay.

Black glared at us. "You think exploring is the first step of fun? No! There are more steps to conquer and reach! Exploring is no Funland!"

"But, I thought we all trained on our planet!" Green said.
"That's training inland," Black said, annoyed. "Were in space, and that's a whole different experience.."

For a second, I thought of why I even joined this organization.

All of a sudden, the shuttle arrived. It was a colossal ship about 40 feet long, and it landed on the launchpad. Huge gusts of debris and dust blew everywhere.

The speakers then crackled to life: "This is the Captain of the ship; please board the space pod. Launch will be in 5 minutes. Thank you"

"Oh, it looks like we have to go to the launch pad now," White said sadly.

I was stunned and shocked about what Black was saying. That let our mood down.

White let his head down in sorrow. "Nice to see you though, I hope we're friends" He then shook my hand and headed up the stairs to the ship.

I followed everybody towards the ship. I had already started making friends. That was a good sign.

But why would they give us space training? I thought there would be action in space.

We soon entered the ship and greeted the captain. The Captain would only drop us off at Skeld; after that, it was only on our own.

The captain each gave us these tablets, which gave us instructions on which tasks you have.

We soon sat on the seats and waited until the spaceship started. The captain pressed some buttons and then activated the rocket ship.

"Attention crew, we're gonna launch at 10...9...8..7...6...5...4...3...2...1..."

And then the rockets blasted off, and in a matter of time, we were soaring high up into the sky.

We were now free to roam around. There was this vast area where we could rest.
"Hi White," I said as I met up with him again.
"Hey, Red, so, how do you think the expeditions are gonna be?"
"I hope it's good," I replied sarcastically.

In real-time (like black said), it was going to suck.

I looked behind White. He had a mini crewmate behind him.

"So, you brought your son with you?" I said.

"Oh yeah, I did," White said, scratching his head. The mini crew mate gleed with joy.

"That's a cute little fella over there," Blue said, coming in with us.

"Thanks," White said.

We should be able to arrive by tomorrow," Purple said, checking his watch. He was still a bit upset that we had to do tasks only.

Soon, all nine of us started to talk about things, except for black. He was alone and was grumpy and mad. I wonder what was going on with him.

I headed over to black. "Hey, are you ok?" I said. "No, and I don't need your help," Black said.

"Uhm, ok then," I replied. I stepped away from Black. He was acting weird.

I just decided to go to my tablet. There were some tasks on the ship that I had to do. (Like black said, no fun)

I had to do a medbay scan, filter some leaves in 02, and do lots of tasks in electrical and other places.

I stared at my tablet. The tasks were in lots—a total of ten missions.

Exhausted, I sat back on my seat, hoping to arrive sooner or later.

8 hours later

I suddenly woke up from my seat. I realized that I had slept. I tried to get up, but my legs were numb.

I then crashed into the floor. Purple and white laughed.

"You ok, man?" Purple said, giving me a hand."

"I guess," I replied. I stood back up.

"So, did we arrive?" I said.

"Yep," Pink said. He was sort of excited. Even though we were here to do some tedious tasks, it was still exciting to live in space in a vast spaceship.

Right outside the window, I saw the giant spaceship, 50 times the size of our ship that we were on. It was humongous.

Our space pod came to a resting stop right next to the colossal spaceship that was upon us. It was one of the giant spacecraft I had ever seen in my life.

The space pod then attached itself to the enormous ship's enclosed entrance and then opened the doors.

I then took my first step into the Skeld. We entered the Cafeteria. There were five tables. Each near a corner and one smack in the middle. On the middle table, there was an emergency button.

"What's this?" Green said.

"It's an emergency button," The Captain said. "They're for emergencies, now Im going to go back to earth, you guys be careful and do your tasks. You guys will be staying here for a week, so if there's any concerns, just contact me through tablet."

"Thanks, captain," Black said. He then saluted him, and then the door closed, and the space pod left back into our planet.

I didn't know why Black was friendly to our captain but not nice to us.

"We should start tasks now," Blue said. He checked his tablet and then headed towards the direction where his first task was.

The others scattered and did their tasks as well. So I might as well do a task tool. But I first wanted to explore the place.

I checked the map, and it was sort of complex. But I had learned some parts of this map from my training classes, so it was a bit easier to move.

I decided to head towards right where weapons were. I first had to do a download there. Then I would move down and then do my tasks in 02, and then so on.

I went and first headed towards weapons. It was a place where you shoot asteroids that were too near the ship. I passed by the shooting machine. It was just a chair with a big joystick. It then showed a green screen, which was a scanning panel. It looked more like an arcade machine.

I walked over to the downloading task, only to find green doing the same job as I was.

"Oh, hey Red, just doing my tasks," Green said. He was waiting for the download to go to 100 percent.

"Well, you got the same task as I did," I joked. "I'll wait until you finish."

Green nodded and did his task. It usually took him 10 seconds to do it. After that, Green left, and I did the task.

The downloading task has two steps: First, you need to do the downloading, then the Uploading in Admin (I had learned this back on our planet, So we would know how to do each task)

After my download, I went down towards Admin and started to upload the download.

Then I wondered: Will anything go wrong with this trip? I had heard of some people acting strange around here. What did that mean?
