A/N: This chapter is quite lighthearted and fluffy.. it's basically the calm before the storm.

Only a few characters really had the spotlight this chapter, and that won't be the case for the whole series. I'm really looking forward to developing friendships between characters, especially with other people's OCs ^^

Also, there is one of my OC's that makes a small appearance in this chapter. Her name is Isabelle Taurus. Her character design is inspired by Kyoko from Madoka Magica.

Anyway.. this story will be quite fast past and it's intended to be a short story ^^ I hope you will enjoy it.

24 astronauts,

One giant space ship,

And one hell of a universe to explore.

These twenty four astronauts were sent on a secret mission, to find signs of life outside of Earth. With the incredible technology all supplied by Atlas, the group would be able to last for up to decades in space if needed, but the plan was to get back to Earth once enough information was gathered.

Jaune Arc and Leon Trinity couldn't contain their excitement as they sat in the pilot chairs, navigating the ship. "Dude.. This is the coolest. I still can't believe we're captains of a ship!" Leon gleamed, grinning from ear to ear. "This is what we've been dreaming of Lee, it's finally happening!" Jaune replied, as the two friends were completely ecstatic.

In Medbay, sat a frustrated Stella Valentine and Nora Valkyrie, as they tried to fix the scanning machine. "We need to keep track of everyone's health, and this machine will make it a lot easier." Stella explained as Nora fiddled around with the wires.

Suddenly, there was a flash of yellow. Once it faded, Nora cheered in delight as she had managed to fix the scanner. Stella's mouth fell open in surprise, "Nora— you're a genius!" She boomed.

In the cafeteria, Weiss Schnee, Ruby Rose, Davina Fall and Nova Pierce sat around a table, Davina keeping to herself whilst the other three had been engaging in conversation.

Davina suddenly stood up, and turned to leave. Quickly, she felt a hand grab her own, and she turned around, to meet eyes with Weiss. "Davina, are you okay?" She asked, softly. The Fall pulled her hand away from the Schnee's. "I'm alright." She insisted.

"That's what they all say." Nova piped up sarcastically, as Ruby giggled. Weiss just shot the pair a glare, before her attention was brought back to Davina. She didn't say anything, but her eyes were almost pleading for the girl to open up to her. They'd left Earth a week ago now, and Davina hardly spoke to anybody.

"I just miss Isabelle, that's all." Davina confessed.

Isabelle threw her arms around her girlfriend, hugging her tightly. "I'm going to miss you so much Vina." The bull faunus confessed, not wanting to let her go. "I'm sure I'll be back before you know it." Davina insisted, hugging the Taurus girl back, though she knew it wasn't true.

Isabelle pulled away from the Fall, and faced her brother Adam. "Take care of my girlfriend for me!! And Davina—" Isabelle turned back to her partner. "Take care of my brother for me." She said. "We are going to be fine, Issy." Adam insisted.

Davina and Isabella shared a kiss, before the Fall girl left her lover to enter the ship.

"We lived together so.. this is perhaps the longest we have been separated since we moved in together." Davina insisted. Weiss gave a nod, to say that she understood. "Well if there's anything I can do to help—"

"Thanks." Davina cut her off, before she turned around and left the room. The Schnee frowned, before facing Ruby and Nova, who also had frowns on their faces.

In the kitchen, Pyrrha Nikos, Lie Ren and Jasper Clarke were preparing a meal for the entire crew. "I had no idea you guys could cook so well!" Pyrrha confessed, as Ren and Jasper proudly stood beside their finished pot of the most perfect spaghetti bolognese. "I think we make quite the team, Ace." Ren said to the brunette, as he agreed back nervously.

In the hallway, Enzo and Maeve Lopez were walking together, catching up on things. "How is it going, sharing a room with Blake?" The fox faunus asked his twin. Maeve shrugged, "I guess we're learning to like eachother again." She confessed, as she and Blake had a bit of a complicated past. "It actually feels kind of nice.. to be friends again."

The pair passed Ari Poisson-Callows, Adam Taurus and Abra Vinzola who were all walking together. The Lopez twins greeted them, as Ari and Adam said hello, and Abra smiled and waved back shyly.

"That's nice.." Enzo trailed off, before looking behind them to make sure the trio were gone before he spoke. "Adam and I are becoming good friends again.. I'm really happy about it." He confessed.

Maeve was silent for a moment before she said, "Enzo, I don't really trust Adam. Not after everything he did to us, and to Blake too." Enzo nodded, "I understand.. but Adam has changed! I'm certain you'll see it too Mavis." The fox faunus frowned, "Don't call me that!"

Blake Belladonna, Yang Xiao Long and Jenni Opal were finishing off some of their tasks, in security. Yang was sitting in the office chair, facing the security cameras, spinning around in the seat, whilst Blake was flicking through the camera screens, bored. Jenni on the other hand was carefully rewiring the wires by the entrance, before she looked over at the two girls.

"Do either of you have tasks in this particular facility?" She asked as Yang snorted by her choice of words. Blake shot her friend a quick glare before she answered, "Nah, we're honestly just killing time before dinner is ready." She confessed. Jenni sighed, realising the pair were probably going to pester her until dinner was ready. She then went back to carefully fixing the wires.

Meanwhile in weapons, Elena Lightbourne, Ilia Amitola and Kiko Niji were examining each weapon with excitement. "These are so cool." Elena confessed, liking how different each weapon was. "You probably shouldn't be looking through those." A voice piped up, as the trio turned around to see Alec Lightbourne and Miles Arogaw standing in the doorway. "Well we came here to do the asteroids task but I got more excited by these weapons!" Elena boomed, clearly amazed by them.

Ilia looked to Kiko, who was looking at Stella's weapon, Elektra, with excitement as she adored the colours. "I wonder if Valentine would let us use it.." The chameleon faunus admitted, to her excited girlfriend.

Dinner was ready, and with that everyone entered the cafeteria and sat together to eat. As time passed, a few people got up to leave. Davina and Jenni went off to their shared room. Jaune had left to grab his guitar, wanting to play a song for Weiss.

More time had passed and everyone kind of sat around and chatted. Ari and Jasper decided to wash the dishes and clean up, tomorrow it would be another pair's job. Miles and Alec had gone off to their shared room. Jaune had reappeared with guitar and Weiss left the cafeteria, before he could even get a note out. Ruby looked at the boy, with pity.

"I have an idea Jaune, you play the guitar and I could sing?" Stella suggested. Pyrrha, who sat beside the pinkette, boomed, "Yes! That's a great idea! Stella is an amazing singer." Jaune shrugged, "Alright sunshine."

Stella and Jaune sat atop a table, as everyone else in the cafeteria kind of sat on the floor in front of them, as an audience. The pinkette wasn't sure what mood to go for, but as she looked at the couples that sat amongst the crowd— Nova and Leon, Nova's arm around the redhead. Ilia and Kiko, their hands intertwined as Kiko rested her head on Ilia's shoulder. And Ren and Nora, Nora leaning her head on Ren lovingly— She decided to go for something romantic, or at least cute.

Her eyes then landed on her girlfriend, Pyrrha, who smiled at her. The redhead absolutely loved when Stella sung to her— she quite often requested it, and of course the pinkette could never say no. Stella looked at the Nikos girl lovingly with a smile, before she turned back to Jaune, and whispered what song she wanted to sing. Jaune nodded with a grin, before he began strumming his guitar.

"You should take it as a compliment that I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk." Stella began to sing.

Elena, who instantly recognised the song, excitedly looked to her best friends Maeve and Blake. The pair just smiled back at her, Maeve giggling a little over the blonde's excitement.

"You should think about the consequence of your magnetic field being a little too strong."

"And I got a girlfriend, she's older than us, she's in the club doing, I don't know what. You're so cool, it makes me hate you so much." Stella looked to Jaune for a moment, as the pair exchanged a smile, before the pinkette turned back to the audience.

"Whisky on ice, Sunset and Vine. You've ruined my life, by not being mine." Blake's eyes flickered to Maeve for a moment, which Elena caught. The Belladonna quickly looked away, hoping she hadn't been caught, but the other cat faunus just grinned.

"You're so gorgeous— I can't say anything to your face
'Cause look at your face" Ilia and Kiko looked at eachother lovingly, Kiko quickly pressing a kiss on Ilia's cheeks, causing the other chameleon faunus to blush.

"And I'm so furious at you for making me feel this way." Nora snuggled closer to Ren, as she felt so content. Adam and Enzo looked at the couples being all lovey, before giving eachother an awkward glance. Adam then chuckled.

"But, what can I say? You're gorgeous!" Stella's eyes landed on Pyrrha, as Pyrrha had been dreamily watching the pinkette sing. The Valentine then blew her girlfriend a kiss, to which Pyrrha blushed in response.

"Well.. I don't know about you guys.. but I feel really single right about now." Jaune confessed, as everyone laughed.

"You have a beautiful voice, Stell." Leon confessed, as Nova nodded, agreeing. "Aw, thank you." Stella replied, not expecting so much praise.

"Should we do another song?" Jaune asked. Stella turned to Jaune, liking the idea, but before she could answer, suddenly a siren began blaring, as well as the words;

"WARNING: OXYGEN DEPLETING
