Nature on Earth was something that had to be treasured, especially when you never knew how long it'd be until you got there again.

"Mommy! We wanna go play at the playground!" Franklin whined out. "We don't wanna be at this boring little pond!" He pouted.

Mother softly sighed. "Oh, sweetie. Mommy wants to be at the pond. How's about we go feed those ducks over there?" Mother asked her son, pointing to a small group of ducks near the water. She had a bag of cracked corn to feed to the ducks.

"No, mommy!" Franklin protested. "We wanna go to the playground!"

"Well, if ya come feed the birds with me, I'll take ya to the playground. Alright?" Mother bargained with her son.

Franklin sighed and frowned. "Fine..." Timmy stayed close to his little brother.

Mother went near a bench that was near the water. "Alright, watch how I do this, okay?" She says to her sons. She gives some of the corn to a few nearby ducks. "Now, Timmy, your turn!"

Timmy looked up at his mother with a scared and concerned expression.

"It's okay, dear... Come on.." Mother said, gently guiding her son to feed a duck. Timmy made a worried noise.

"You know," A voice came from behind them. "It is an okay method to simply set the feed on the ground and let the bird eat there."

"Oh!" Mother made a surprised noise at the appearance of someone else, turning in the direction of the voice. "How's it going, TheGentleman?"

"Good morning, Mother." TheGentleman said. "It seems we've had the same idea for the morning."

"Do ya like coming down here too?" Mother asked.

TheGentleman nodded, sitting on the bench. "Indeed. It's not as if I've had much to do these days. It has been rather relaxing."

"Ah, yeah. You've got yourself a point there!" Mother chuckled. She looked over to her boys. Franklin was helping his older brother feed the ducks.

"Mommy said do this-" Franklin said.

Timmy stayed quiet, but followed his little brother's instruction, starting to calm and smile a little.

Mother softly sighed. "I'm glad we keep up so much on the communications n' all, but we definitely gotta keep up in person." Mother said to TheGentleman.

The taller nodded. "Most certainly." TheGentleman then sighed. "I'm quite glad that I ran into you here, however."

"Ya?" Mother asked.

"Yes. I...wanted to ask something of you." TheGentleman said.

"What's this all about?" Mother looked to TheGentleman with a look of curiosity.

"Well, I-" TheGentleman's words were cut off by Franklin.

"Mommy! We gave the corn to the ducks! It's all gone-gone!" Franklin said. Mother looked over.

There was some corn on the ground, and a few ducks were eating at it. Timmy had the empty bag.

"Would ya look at that!" Mother giggled. "Well, give me a second and a promise is a promise." She says to her son. "What was it you were saying, TheGentleman?"

"Ah, could we perhaps save this discussion for tomorrow? You did plan to have those two visit someone then, correct?" TheGentleman said. "I believe I won't be able to get my words right, and, well, it looks like you've got plans today as well." He chuckled.

"You've got a point, TheGentleman." Mother nodded. "That sounds good. I'll catch up with ya tomorrow afternoon here."

"That sounds workable." TheGentleman nodded.

It was the next day. Mother had let her sons stay with a relative, and was walking in the park again.

"Ah, there you are." TheGentleman said, standing from a bench. "I take it that everything went alright?"

"You betcha." Mother nodded. "What's it you wanted to talk with me about?"

"Well... Let's sit. I want to talk a little while." TheGentleman said.

The two of them sat on a bench. TheGentleman began to talk.

"I, ehm, was going to tell you yesterday, but you had other obligations. I enjoy spending time with you, Mother."

"Awh, well that's sweet of ya." Mother softly smiled.

"Well, I've.. Hm.." TheGentleman seemed to think for a moment before sighing. "There are more feelings that I have had lately."

Mother tilted her head a little. "You okay, TheGentleman? This isn't really like ya to be scattered like this."

TheGentleman nodded. "I am quite alright. I am just trying to say that I....I believe I've developed feelings for you, Mother, and I...would like to ask if you would like to go out with me some time?"

Mother took a moment to process the question. "O-Oh, you're askin' me on a date, TheGentleman?" Mother asked.

TheGentleman nodded. "Yes. If y-you don't want to, that is fine, but-"

"I'd gladly go on a date with ya." Mother smiled. "Where would you wanna go?"

"P...Perhaps that ice cream shop over there? They have some wonderful options and I enjoy being there." TheGentleman suggested.

Mother nodded. "That sounds great."

"Then let us get some ice cream, shall we?"
