Relax
"And it's okay to do this?" Brendon asked as he followed Dave and Ryan. Dave nodded and Ryan shrugged.
"It's not going against the rules. Well, not exactly at least." Brendon chewed on his bottom lip. He didn't want to get caught doing something he'd regret later. Ryan grabbed his hand and pulled him to walk at Dave's pace.
"Don't worry. We do this all the time."
"You sure?" Ryan nodded and squeezed Brendon's hand before letting go. They made it to a door that took them outside. The sky was dark blue, sparkling with stars. The sun was long gone and a white circle loomed in its place.
"Come on." Brendon focused back on what he was doing. Ryan and Dave were standing by a car, waving him over. He hurried to them as Dave pulled out a key and unlocked the doors.
"Are you positive that we won't get in trouble for this?"
"Relax. Why would they give me a key if they didn't want me to use the car?" Brendon was shoved into the backseat before he could answer the rhetorical question.
"Where are we going," he asked as the car started moving away from the building. Ryan turned back and flashed a smile.
"We need to go somewhere to let a load off. After the week you had, you deserve to have some fun." Brendon tilted his head in confusion.
"I don't -"
"Just wait till we get there." Brendon fidgeted nervously in the back seat the whole drive until they parked outside an unfamiliar building. Ryan opened the door and grabbed a hold of Brendon's arm. He noticed a line stretching around the corner of the building.
It was hard not to notice the tight shirts and leather pants on the males and the short, constricting dresses on the females. His eyes grew wide as they moved along the people, not respecting the line that was formed.
"Ryan, what are we -"
"Shh," Dave hushed him. Ryan's hand slipped from Brendon's arm down to his hand. They stopped at a velvet rope guarded by a muscular bouncer. "Hey, Diego."
"Hey." The man's scowl disappeared when he noticed Dave. "I haven't seen you around in while. How are you doing?" Dave shrugged.
"Been held up at work. Haven't had a chance to come by." Diego looked over when he recognized Ryan.
"Hey, Ry. How are you doing?" Ryan shrugged with a smirk.
"Same old, same old. This is Brendon by the way." Brendon looked over at Ryan with wide scared eyes. Ryan shook his head and chuckled softly. "We can trust him. Don't worry," he whispered into Brendon's ear. Diego lifted the velvet rope blocking them from the entrance of the building.
"Have fun guys. Especially you Brendon." He winked as Brendon passed him. As they go inside, the sound of music became almost deafening. Brendon could barely hear himself think.
"Do you want something to drink," Ryan yelled and Brendon barely understood with everything that was going on around him. He nodded, not trusting that he could be heard over the noise. Ryan led him to the bar and ordered two drinks.
They found two empty stools and got themselves comfortable as their glasses were set in front of them. By the time Ryan was almost halfway through his drink, Brendon had finally mustered up the courage to have a sip from his glass. He knew his hesitance was enough to show that it was his first drink every.
Brendon hummed in approval as the sweet, tangy flavor sat on his tongue. He quickly went for another drink. Ryan looked over at him and chuckled softly.
"Do you like it?" Brendon nodded enthusiastically as he brought the glass to his lips. "I figured you would."
"What is it?"
"Peach and lime daiquiri." Brendon happily empty the glass and shyly asked Ryan if he could have another. Not being able to say 'no' to Brendon's puppy dog eyes, Brendon managed to weasel two more drink from the boy within fifteen minutes. Brendon looked around, noticing Dave wasn't around for the first time since they got to the bar.
"Where's Dave?" Ryan shrugged and nursed, what Brendon learned to be, his scotch.
"Probably out dancing." Brendon looked out into the sea of sweaty bodies grinding in time with the music. "I gotta go to the bathroom. I'll be right back. Stay here, okay?" Brendon nodded and picked up his drink. Ryan gave him one look over before moving toward what Brendon guessed were the bathrooms.
He looked around before going back to his drink. He felt a tap on his shoulder when he finished the last of the glass. He turned to see a sandy blonde man smiling at him.
"Hi. Is this seat taken?" The man motioned to the empty seat Ryan once occupied. Before Brendon answered, he sat down. "I haven't seen you here before. Are you new in town?" Brendon stared wide eyed at the stranger, not answering. The man chuckled and moved his eyes over Brendon in an almost predatory fashion.
"You're cute. Mind if I buy you a drink?" Again before Brendon had the chance to answer, the man was already asking the bartender for some drinks. When two glasses were set in from of them, Brendon felt himself getting nervous.
The man took it upon himself to hand Brendon his glass and clinked them together. Brendon hesitantly brought the glass to his lips and let the brown liquid slide down his throat. His face twisted in a grimace as a bitter taste burned his throat.
Brendon shook his head in disgust and set the drink down. He wished he still had some of his daiquiri to chase down the flavor. A hand landed on his knee causing him to freeze.
"Wanna get out of here?" Man was this dude forward. For the third time, Brendon didn't have the chance to respond. Luckily, it was a familiar voice that spoke this time.
"I'm gonna have to ask you to remove your hand." The man did and smirked at Ryan who was now standing at Brendon's side.
"And you are?" Ryan tilted his head to the side and raised an eyebrow. His hand came down and he hooked a finger in one of Brendon's belt loops on his pants. The man's eyes widened and he stood up. "Sorry, I wasn't aware. That was my bad."
Ryan gave a nod and the man hurried off. Ryan reclaimed his seat with a smile playing his lips. He took Brendon's mystery liquor and took a drink. He kept his eyes focused forward as Brendon burned his gaze into the side of his head.
"What the hell was that?" Ryan looked over with wide eyes, almost like he'd been pulled out of a daydream.
"What was what?" Brendon motioned to the direction the man went.
"That, with the finger and him apologizing and leaving. What did you do?" Ryan's cheeks brightened as he ducked his head.
"Oh, um." He looked down and swirled the ice in the glass. "I um, I claimed you." He threw the rest of the drink back and faced forward again.
"Claimed me? What?" Ryan chewed his lip and nodded.
"I uh basically told him we were lovers when I hooked my finger onto your pants." He was almost inaudible over the music. Brendon opened his mouth but closed it when he didn't know how to respond.
"Oh um... okay," he decided on. He faced forward and stayed silent.
"Another daiquiri?" Brendon nodded and soon had another glass in his hand. He lifted it up as he looked at Ryan through his peripherals.
A small blush dusted his cheeks as he smiled into the cup. The liquor slide down his stomach to join the butterflies that were fluttering around.
