Ammu stands with his arms crossed at his front feigning an innocent look and Mahe paces back and forth behind him tapping a long cane on his palm. A scene similar to Amarendra-Sethupathy court scene takes place.

Ka: Mahendra, why are you intimidating your nanna ??

M: If he is questioned in a nice manner he will never be out with the truth thaatha!

Si: Mahendra! You are crossing your limits !

M: He crossed all limits when he pounced on my Amma unmindful of her physically weak state nannamma.

A: Who said she was weak ?? She is Devasena, strong as an iron do you know what actually happened ??

Devu tucks Ammu into bed and sits by his side caressing his head.

D: Ammu, you look weak. Shall I call the physician??

A: Have they all gone Devuu??

She nods her head.

A: Devuu, I am feeling very cold can you pls lock the door.

Devuu locks the door and returns to his side.

D: You rest Ammu, I'll get you something to eat.

A: Don't want Devu..You know I will get sleepy only if I put my leg on you so can you sleep beside me for sometime?

D: Huh..but I have work in the kitchen Ammu..

A: Pls Devu.. I will sleep off soon after that you can do your work.

Devasena thinks for a moment.

The rabbit gets lured into the trap which is exactly what the mischievous fox wanted and in a swift move, the famished fox pulls rabbit close to his side and smothers her face with kisses.

D: Chi Ammu what is this ?? You are sick you have to rest. Leave me!

She protests but he flips her and gets above her.

A: Who said I am sick ?? I am Amarendra Bahubali !! Strong arms !! I acted like that so that we would get privacy.

He begins to graze her neck.

D: You notorious Ammu!! Let me go we have a grown up son!!

A: Bahh.. only one remember
we wanted to have a dozen atleast ??

Mahe chases his father around the room with the cane.

M: I knew it ra... your cough was peculiar I had my doubts then itself... When you repeatedly said "amma is there to take care of me" I should have known ! Look what you have done in the little gap you got ! Run as much as you want today I am not leaving you ! It's either you or me ! We'll see !

Ammu takes care of Devuu as a mother would of her child. He doesn't neglect his country as well and discharges his duty as the King flawlessly. Devuu too assists him to solve cases and ensure justice is served.

A scene at the court:

Amarendra and Devasena, who is 6 months pregnant, are seated on the throne hearing a case of a servant accused of stealing money from his master.

"Maharajaaa !!!! He stole money from my house!! Punish him !!"

A rich and ruthless landlord points his hand to his servant who is standing there with his head bowed in shame.

Ammu looks at the frail lad who is chained and held by two guards.

A: Do you have anything to say ??

"Maharajaaa ! Why are you asking him ? Isn't it evident on his face that he had stolen ?? There is no need to enquire ! Just punish him."

The landlord intervenes and Ammu raises his palm gesturing him to stop talking.

A: (Sternly) You are allowed to speak only when I allow you until then remain silent.

"My apologies Maharaja"

A: (Looking at the boy) Tell me. Did you steal ??

The timid boy bobs his head up and down.

Si: He has admitted to his crime Baahu. I think we should punish him.

A: Mmm. Why did you steal ?? Don't you know it is wrong ?

The boy begins to cry.

"I know... I know...Maharajaa I did wrong but.."

A: Whatever it is you may speak here, don't have to fear.

"Maharajaa, my father was the sole breadwinner but he passed away recently. I have younger siblings to look after and my mom is unwell. I left school worked for this landlord to support my family. He promised to pay me well but did not keep up his word instead he used to beat and torture me but I never told my family as I didn't want to upset them. I suffered under him in the hope he would pay my salary. Situation at home got worse without us having a morsel of food to eat and my we needed money for my mother's treatment. When I requested him for help, he kicked me out. In desperation, I sneaked into his house and stole the cash. I am ready to accept any punishment but pls look after my family."

"No Maharaja ! He is lying ! He has made up this story to fool everyone. I never tortured him. I have paid his salary on time!"

Ammu looks at Devu.

A: What do you suggest Devu ??

D: He did not steal for luxury, poverty drove him to do it. He should be forgiven in my opinion Ammu. Besides, the landlord has tortured him and failed to pay his salary. The lad has to be compensated for the mental and physical abuse he has been put through.

Ammu smiles at Devu as she had voiced out what he felt.

A: Though it is wrong to steal, the boy was pushed to that verge to feed himself and his family. The landlord has to apologise publicly to the boy and his family for his ill treatment towards them additionally he has to pay back the salary with dues and give them cattle for their survival. If he fails to do so, he will be sentenced to jail. The boy can join his school and continues his studies.

"Maharajaa Baahubali jai ho!! Maharani Devasena jai ho!!"

Everyone praises the King and Queen. Sivagami sees King Vikramadeva in her Baahu and beams in pride seeing him rule Mahishmati wise and justly the way he did.

Later in Sivagami's chamber, she stares at scrolls of paintings of Ammu's parents.

Si: How I wish you both were alive to see Baahu's reign....

Her eyes well up and she feels a hand on her shoulder. Sivagami turns to see Devasena and wipes the tears from the corners of her eyes.

D: Pardon me for intruding into your privacy Rajamatha but you hadn't come for the evening prayers. Is everything alright ?

Si: Yes Devasena, I am fine.

Devu's gaze falls on the portrait.

D: Erm.. they are...

Si: Your in-laws, Baahu's parents. King Vikramadeva and his wife Bhavani.

Sivagami passes the scroll to Devasena and she takes a closer look at Ammu's mother.

D: She is so beautiful.

Si: Yes she is, in looks and nature. Though my husband is elder, my brother-in-law got married first. Like Baahu, he too cared a lot about the welfare of Mahishmati and his people.
