Chapter Ten
Zipping up his suitcase, Alfred looked around the room to see if he had forgotten a hint of clothing. He looked twice, just to make sure he didn't. With a slow nod, he exited the room; out into the tall field of grass and onto the dirt road---the road away from the Amish land he had once knew of.
Travis, one of his friends that attended Pastor McDowell's church, came up to Alfred with a warm smile, grasping his hand and shaking it.
"I'm sorry for what had happened, friend." Travis said, his eyes squinting from the sunlight.
"It's alright; it wasn't your fault this happened." Alfred sighed. "I guess I won't be seeing you anytime soon----or ever."
"We'll write to each other, Alf---I mean, Freddie." he opened his arms to Freddie, as he dropped his suitcase and came towards his friend as they shared a warm embrace.
Freddie opened his eyes to see Amanda stand at the far end of the road; her auburn hair brushing through the wind as she motioned him to follow him.
Even though she tried to frame him, and even though he had sex with her, she was his ticket. She was the outlet to what was left of life.
He said goodbye to Travis, grabbed his suitcase and walked towards the she-devil herself. He greeted her with a kiss to the cheek.
"I still hate you," he smirked. "but what can I do?" he strode along next to her, not saying a word.
Amanda stopped and turned around as she fished for something in her satchel. In her hand was two stacks of money; money Freddie will need when he'd arrive to the unknown.
"I still hate you, too." she laughed. "Take this," she handed him the money with a smile. "you're going to need it when you leave here."
"Aren't you coming with me, you hussy?" he smirked.
Amanda shook her head, stepping back toward the villiage. "I can't, I still have my family to take care of---Daddy needs me now more than ever."
She leaned up and kissed his jawline, and with a turn on her heel, she was off; leaving Freddie to be solemn.
. . .
He stood in front of the curb of the street, clutching his suitcase in his left hand. The loud screech of tires came before him, and the doors of the bus opened to reveal an overweight, male bus driver.
He looked to be in his early forties, his face was wrinkled with aging. He had a warm smile on his face; almost as if he knew what Freddie was running from.
"Where you headed, son?" he had asked; his Brooklyn accent escaping his mouth as he spoke.
Freddie smiled with a glint of hope in his eyes.
"America."
. . .
Author's Note ,
NO! THE STORY IS AT AN END! WHAT HAS BECOME OF MY LIFE?!
Anyway, I know you're all sad because it's at an end, but don't worry, more surprises will be in store. I won't say what they are, but I do have some tricks up my sleeve.
I want to thank you all for the support; for the votes; for the comments and for being patient when I didn't update on a regular basis.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them in the comment section below, because I read each and every one of them and I always respond; so yeah, I'm the real deal.
I love you guys so much it isn't even funny. I also need to thank my best friend, Rebecca, for always supporting me in whatever I do. I love her and I will never stop loving her because she is my best friend; my soulmate, basically.
This is really hard for me to say goodbye, because I grew to love these charecters----specifically Alfred----and I just feel like I can't leave them behind.
Here are two questions for you:
- Who was your favorite charecter in this story and why?
- Could you picture this story in a movie theater or being published at Barnes N Nobles or any other bookstore?
Thank you, and I will see you all soon. Please, don't ever stop commenting or voting.
With love, forever and always,
- V a l e r i e
