It was an auditorium where the posters of Aminah and a book cover were surrounded upon. The audience were wearing graduation hats. Among them were Kamal and Chandu whose tea store was sold and had passed their High School Diploma. Therefore with the effort of four years during their undergrad days, they finally graduated as the students of Film and Media Communications. Sadek was the one who helped Chandu and Kamal with their financial needs.
On the other side, there was Yesmin and Javed who were sitting as the lovely couple with their fraternal twin children: a boy and a girl who were six year olds. Yesmin quitted to watch Mexican telenovelas, instead, she watches the series with less melodrama with strong and educative story. Her behavior also toned down and became more romantic towards her professor husband. They were absolutely happy.
On the last note was Mr. and Mrs. Jabbar with their teenage children who just came from the boarding school. They were waiting for Aminah's speech to come out. Mr. Jabbar was still a kind man as Mrs. Jabbar toned her over-hyped behavior down.
One of the older professors went on stage and announced:
"Friends, I want to speak a few words about our chief guest. I was used to be her art faculty. At first, due to her strangeness on her behavior, I did not like her. I even used to belittle her. Otherwise, she was a brilliant artist. Until, I found out that, she really faced her problems, when she hopped into my office. She was timid back then. Therefore, I told her to take some time off and now she's a successful author. I want you to present the student of the university: Aminah Marcia Khan!"
Aminah slowly came to the stage with Shezan with an elegant smile, while Dr. Jehangir was at the front row of the audience's chair. Aminah was nervous and happy at the same time. The mixture of emotions went into vein that she grabbed the microphone. The audience were looking at the suspense of the whole problem. The whole scene turned out to be dramatic.
"Thank you, dear sir. I am here to tell you that the novel that I have written is based on my life. It's not only about my life but it is death itself. A lot of people were not open about mental health at that time. Still, mental health has not been take seriously. We must take them because: 90 percent of us are mentally ill, most might not agree about it but there are 10 percent of the people are straight at the asylum. On the further note, my husband once told me a story about a woman who was accused of the witchcraft and persuaded her to a severe trial on fire. The fire was low while she walked onto it. On which the so-called priests were proved right and imprisoned her. Unfortunately, she made a cackling laugh when she was hanged. Do you know why? She wants to be free and already freed. Furthermore, she wanted to have a life because her family was killed by the people who were associated with the king.
On that occasion, life is not described by one word, it is described by the thousand. Death is such that no one can predict, only The Almighty do. A child is always curious than a stupid, egoistic adults because of the environment is fake, people adjusts into that. In that case, genuine feelings do not fully fade because we all are humans. People do redeem. When? Their change of perceptions given them a chance for redemption.
On that note, I first thought that ending my life would be a solution but my life turned out when I first met my psychiatrist, Dr. Jehangir who actually helped me during my odd times. I was so under depression, back then that I was almost collided with various different characters. I miss my twin and my mom. Sometimes, life will not give your cup of tea but it will give you the-first-bitter-then-yummy, kind of taste.
Some people are right. The world's ethics are not the one sided value, it is of various sides. We must be open about it. Our mental health might be a bit uneasy but it is like a parent who takes care of a child. Whenever a child make mistakes, we quickly forgive them and teach them life lessons in a playful manner. Otherwise, they cannot build their willpower. Willpower and responsibility should come from itself. Otherwise, we would stuck ourselves forever.
To the conclusion, I would thank my husband, my father-in-law- the honorable Dr. Jehangir, Sadek Uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jabbar and my friends: Kamal and Chandu to support me to reach into this position. I repeat, life is a different shade but you also need to understand that the world is a lie"
The audience including Yesmin and the others burst into tears. The whole people from the auditorium strongly applauded with such a bigger speech that even the speech went viral in the social media.
When Aminah hopped out from the stage, Yesmin slowly came near her.
"I am sorry for what have I done to you! I am so sorry!" sobbed Yesmin who was really into sorrow that she never imagined having that.
"I forgave you because there is more room for improvement" said Aminah with a grin.
It was at night. Therefore, she went to the graveyard, full of graves with the high-profiled people. Among the graves, it was Mr. Karim who died while was bedridden on to the old home. On that time, she was writing on her book and constantly used to see him on the degrading health.
Therefore, it was further revealed that he was from the army. That was why he used to love chess with perfection. He used to love to fight with his brains than arms. It was Aminah's emotional moment that the army people took his body to the grave.
RETD. GENERAL IMRAAN KARIM
Born: 10th February 1909
Died: 10th February 2009
"Armies are superheroes"
"Mr. Karim, you are a superhero" said Aminah to Mr. Karim's grave. She sobbed with prayers and her heart was warming towards the grave. Mr. Karim's sons did not even visit his grave and it was not maintained properly. Since then, Aminah and Shezan took the rest of the elderly people from the old home and maintained and cleaned Mr. Karim's grave.
Then she went to Sadek's house to see the little Ayman who had grown to be a happy child. On the contrary to that, his grandmother passed away with the old aged complex while his mother was sent to the mental asylum. She even died there due to lobotomy.
By now, Ayman was happy with Sadek who even helped the street children to learn the knowledge of the world. He even played Lego blocks with Aminah.
Kamal and Chandu opened a cafeteria in such a manner that even the high class people goes to the café with a least cost.
Dr. Jehangir continued to treat his patients with a lot of patience and effort with his fees that turned slightly lower than the last. Aminah not only became an author and a photographer but now has a gallery.
Every Friday, Rasma, the cable operator's gorgeous teen daughter used to come to Aminah's house and had tea.
At night, Shezan was cooking at the kitchen. Aminah sneaked romantically at her husband's work.
"What are you doing?" asked Aminah.
"Nothing, just a dinner for myself" said Shezan.
Aminah sat on the dining table. Then Shezan suddenly blindfolded her. She was blindly confused but did not ask him about the food. Until, she was unfolded, she saw food such as biriyani, roasted beef and French fries with beef curry. It was so delicious.
"Well, how do you like it?" asked Shezan.
"Hmm...looks good" said Aminah.
After eating it, Shezan brought a cake. It was written:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
"Love you! Sweety. And remember, I kept some grocery list on your wallet" said Aminah.
"What?" exclaimed Shezan.
"Just go and see your wallet" said Aminah.
Shezan looked at the wallet from his wardrobe. He took out a piece of paper.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE, YOU ARE ALWAYS, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.
"I got your grocery list" said Shezan who was smiling on the top.
Therefore, Dr. Jehangir came into the scene.
"And Happy Anniversary" said Dr. Jehangir.
On that time, Kantu arrived at the scene with her husband and children. The moment Aminah saw her, she hugged her in such a manner that it was ages that she have not seen her. Therefore, Aminah smiled "Kantu, I know you will be back"
"Hmm...because time really kills the worst moments and you must live every moment of your life" said Kantu.
"Well, it is very true" said Aminah.
Then, they had their dinner together. It was an enjoyable moment.
On the other hand, Dr. Jehangir's reports turned positive that became the prime example that put other psychiatrists into practices. Despite the problem of dissociative identity disorder is debatable, it is also an example to differentiate the mental illness and superstition.
All is well that ends well. No Antara, no Amelia and no multiple personalities, only Aminah.
THE END
