Days must of passed before I saw another person, not that seeing them reassured me anymore. It was the leader of the kidnappers and by the way he entered the room, you'd think he'd won a million bucks. I flinched away from him, tugging lightly at the bonds that held me to the post.
He smiled at me, not a warm smile either, a cruel smile that made me cringe away from him. I was starving, freezing cold, dehydrated and terrified out of my mind, I was scared of what this man could do to me. Of what he would do to me.
"Okay princess, time to make the ransom tape." He smirked as his goons entered the room, each with a mask covering there face.
"Ransom tape?" I questioned flinching back again.
He rolled his eyes. "Simple, I'm going to ask you a few easy questions. Keep the answers short a sweet, you hear? You're not to say our names or the little you may know about us. If you get it right first try, I might let you have something to eat. After we get a tape I deem good enough I'll send it to your daddy, he pays the amount of money I demand and you go free. Understand?"
I give a small nod as my stomach lets out a small growl.
"Bill, get in place."
One of the masked men stepped forward, pulling out a gun. My eyes widened and I let out a whimper, struggling away from him as he squatted down behind me, holding tightly onto my arm with one hand and used the other to point the gun at my head.
"Relax princess, it's just for show. So your daddy knows we're serious." The leader snickered with false kindness.
I swallowed down the lump in my throat as the leader pointed a video camera at me. "And... go."
Bill tightened his grip on my arm making me cry out in pain and tears spring to my eyes.
"Okay princess, what's your name?" The leader questioned.
I flinched and took a small breath in. "My name is Kaley Kimoni." I answered quietly, trying to make sure my voice would still be heard.
"Good, how old are you and when's your birthday?"
I swallowed the lump in my throat before answering. "I am 15 years old and my birthday is 4th of February."
"Have you been harmed since you got here?" The leader questioned.
I bit down on my tongue, not sure how to answer. I hadn't been hurt since I got here but my head was still obviously injured. I took another breath in as a few tears slipped from my eyes. "No, I haven't been hurt since I arrived here." I replied, internally signing when the leader smiled.
"Do you have anything you want to say to you daddy princess?"
I nodded slightly, whimpering when Bill tightened his grip on my arm.
"What do you want to say?"
I wanted to say so much, beg my father to come and get me, to save me from these people. But my grumbling stomach reminded me to keep it short.
"I'm really sorry daddy, for what I said. Please help me. I'll be good, just please..." I burst into tears after that and struggled to sob out the rest. "Help me..."
Not waiting for me to finish, Gary stepped forward, his face still covered by the mask. "If you ever want to see your daughter alive again, you'll pay us the sum of six hundred thousand dollars in cash. You have a week to respond to the contact provided and if not, you'll find your daughter at the bottom of the sea."
Everything seemed to freeze, shatter as the reality of things hit me, making me cry even harder. If my father didn't pay, they would kill me.
The leader shut off the camera off he smirked at me. "That was perfect princess. Congratulations, you just earned yourself a meal."
Bill let go of me and the three left the room.
~Serperior.~ Ivy let out a small hiss, her vines traveling through the bars of the cage to comfort me. She wiped away my tears while lightly humming a tune she often would when I was afraid of something. Eventually, my exhaustion took over and I allowed Ivy's song to lull me to sleep.
"All I want to do is to tell you how I feel. To say I love you with every inch of my heart. You're my sunshine and my moon in the dark. You are my stars at night, igniting the fire in my heart~."
"Hello?" I whimper quietly, hugging myself.
"Hello young one."
"Where are you?" I asked, turning around in small circles.
There was a childish giggle. "I'm everywhere but if you must see me." There was a bright flash that made me recoil and shield my eyes. "Here I am."
Before me floated a star like Pokèmon. A blue tag hung from each of its three points, fluttering slightly from side to side. Two yellow ribbons sprouted from the Pokemon's back, dancing around in a complex yet simple pattern. The Pokèmon had its white arms out stretched in a 'ta-da' manor and its tiny legs looked like they wouldn't be able to support any Pokèmon, even one as small as this one.
"Who are you?" I asked quietly, noticing that my wrists were free from being bound behind my back.
"I am Jirachi. The Pokèmon that has the rare ability to grant wishes." It smiled proudly.
Hope soared through my body when it said that it could grant wishes. It could save me from the basement I'm currently locked in, save me from those kidnappers. "Can you help me?" I asked quietly, my hands clinging to each other as I imagined someone else holding them.
"Of course child, however, nothing these days comes without price and as my power is not at its greatest, it may take some time."
"Please, I'll give you anything." I begged.
Jirachi let out a giggle. "I don't want anything that you can give me child. I want to show you something. Three visions, one of past, one of present and one of future after I do, then I shale let you make your wish."
"So it's like the Christmas carol story?" I asked confused.
"In a word, yes, in many, not so much."
I nodded. "Okay, but how long will it take? I'm scared." I sniffed, looking down at my feet.
Jirachi sighed and I felt it place a hand on my shoulder before using one of its ribbon to raise my chin. "Chin up child. You won't be down there forever. But I'm afraid it could take a while. In this form I'm not at my strongest and even as we speak my gathered power fades. The Melenium Comet is not due to pass for many moons."
I whipped my tears and looked at Jirachi. "When can we start then?" I asked hopefully.
"If you wish, right now." Jirachi smiled
I offered a small smile back and nodded. "Yes please, if it will get me out faster."
The misty world around me started to glow brighter until I could no longer see Jirachi the world seems to stretch and simmer until I was brought a vision. My body tingled for a moment and when I looked down it find the cause I find nothing more then my body turning slightly transparent. Jirachi appeared next to me in in similar condition. "We shale start with visiting the past child."
"I don't mean to be rude but why?" I asked Jirachi as the world around me continued to glow, twist and swirl around.
"Because you need to learn to see child. You have been blinded by your eyes and as a result, no longer see with your heart. I have taken it upon myself to show you what you no longer see." Jirachi explain calmly.
I was confused by the answer I received. "I don't understand."
"You will child. Now let me show you something you have forgotten."
The glow faded and I was standing in my room accept... It was my room from year ago. The pile of stuffed toys was twice as big as it was not and the giant toy house I'd now long since discarded. I caught sight of my father sitting in a chair next to my bed and tears sprung to my eyes as a pang in my heart reminded me of how much I missed him. Jirachi gently touched my shoulder while I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.
"I am sorry to have caused you distress child." Jirachi apologised.
I shook my head. "I just... I said some rude things to my father last time I saw him and now... I don't even know if he'll want me anymore."
"It will turn out okay child. Do you remember this?" Jirachi asked, gesturing to the scene before her.
I shook my head. "No."
"Take a closer look. Your past self and father cannot see as we are looking into a memory."
I nodded and took a few small steps forward when I caught sight of myself. I damp cloth lay across my forehead and the blankets lay up to my chin. My father sat in a chair next to my bed, speaking to me in a gentle voice while gently running his fingers through my long black hair. It took my a moment to remember this time. It was when I was seven, I'd caught a bad flu from one of the workers. Since I'd never really had any contact with disease, I'd gotten really sick. My father was on a business trip at the time but he'd come home as soon as he found out I was sick and had almost never left my side the entire time I was in bed.
"Now do you remember?"
I nodded. "I was sick and daddy came home to take care of me."
Jirachi nodded. "Do you know what your father lost to come home for you child?"
I shook my head in reply.
"You fathers business almost crashed when he skipped the meeting. He lost a partner to extend his career and everything that came with it." Jirachi explained. "But regardless, he came home to take care of you child."
I hung my head in shame. "I didn't know."
"But do you know what child? Your father didn't care. All he wanted at the time was to be with you while you were ill, because he loves you child."
I looked over to my father as the past me started to stirred, lightly open her eyes and look over at her father. "Daddy?" She called, raising her hand from beneath the blanket and reached for her father.
He took her hand in his and smiled at her softly. "It's okay Kayley. Daddy's here."
I squeezed my eyes hurt and looked away but the words run in my ears. 'Daddy's here'.
I'd give anything to be with him now. Anything at all.
