"Please daddy, even if it's just for a week or even a day, I want to see what the world is like. Meet people my age." I begged over the dinner table.
Ivy looked up from her place curled up in front of the fire place. The light if the fire danced off the moss like fuzz that covered the serpentine body. Her small leaf like hands hung slightly behind her twitched slightly as she sensed the tension in the air. The Serpirior has been given to me by my mother before she was killed when I was three and was my closest friend, going with me wherever I went. Ivy was always protective of me and often acted like a mother to me now.
She cocked her head to the side and watched the conversation carefully with her wise red eyes. Dreamy was leaning against her, sleeping peacefully and blissfully unaware of the argument about to take place. He could sleep through anything that little Pichu could. I found him outside after a large storm sick and soaking wet. I'd taken him in and never let him go since. Well I did try after he had healed but he'd grown attached to the royal like treatment if given him during his sickness and refused to leave the garden and often snuck in the house to follow me around until I captured him.
"Kaley I have told you so many times before, the would is an evil place. You are not to leave the grounds." Father sighed, putting his spoon down as a waiter came and took his empty soup bowl.
"But daddy, everyone else my age gets to travel even you do but I'm not allowed to leave the garden. It's not fair!" We have had this argument so many times I'd lost count, but I would not stop asking until I got my way on this. It was the one thing I wouldn't let drop with a simple 'no'. "Even you do."
"Kaley that is different, I travel to put food on your plate and clothes on your back. If I had the choice I would stay with you but I do not."
"That's all you care about! You're money, you don't care about me!" I hissed.
"Kaley, that is enough and far from the truth. I love you and that is why you must stay here, is that clear?"
"But daddy-" I begged.
"That is enough Kaley! You are to stay on the grounds and you are not going to leave!"
I stood up so fast my chair fell to the floor with a crash making Ivy and Dreamy both dart up alert. "You never let me do anything!" I yelled running from the room, Ivy slithering behind me with Dreamy on her back.
I ran into the back garden to my swing that hung from a Peach tree. When it would bloom I would climb it the eat the sweat fruit with Ivy and Dreamy. It had been planted by my mother as a child so it was extremely special to me.
I collapsed onto the trees roots, sobbing to myself while hugging the trees soft, smooth bark. Ivy gently stroked my back with her tail while Dreamy hugged my neck until I stopped sobbing. I hugged them both close, they'd always been here for me and I was thankful to them both.
"It's not fair." I mumbled, climbing onto the swing.
I let it sway slightly, before lightly pushing off the ground. Ivy slid up the tree and wrapped her body around the branch above me, watching me calmly with a steady gaze of a loving mother. Dreamy was sitting on my lap, clinging to my shirt to stop himself from falling.
I sniffed and whipped my eyes of tears with one hand while holding tightly onto the rope with the other. I looked up at the stars shining brightly in the sky. I picked out the brightest one and closed my eyes.
"Star light star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight..." I took a deep, steady breath in. "I want to leave, I want to travel and be free." I whispered.
For at least an hour it was silent. Dreamy had crawled into my hooded shirt and fallen asleep while Ivy just watched quietly as I swung lightly back and forth. I didn't want to go inside yet. My farther could get me anything I wanted but would never give me what I needed.
Being the daughter of the richest man in Kalos you'd expect me to be all snobby and posh like the daughters of fathers friends but I'm really not, at least I don't think so. I always wear shorts or skirts that go to my knees and nothing higher with an appropriate shirt. I hated makeup and I wasn't into boys. My favourite colour is blue or green but I hated pink.
Above me Ivy perked up and let out a hiss, looking around the garden observantly.
"Is something the matter Ivy?" I asked, looking up at her.
Ivy nodded once, not looking away from the garden while sliding down the tree. I stayed seated, looking around for whatever Ivy was worried about. I heard a rustle in the bushes and a twig snap.
Ivy instantly got between myself and the bush, hissing fiercely at whoever was there.
A fire type attack burst from the bush, hitting Ivy and knocking her back.
Ivy screeched in pain while I screamed in fright.
A large round Pokemon stepped out from behind the bush. His a majority of his body was orange or grey-black, no defined neck but a really round body and face. Fire snorted from his snout as he flexed his chubby but muscular arms. He dragged his stubby foot backward, kicking back grass and dirt.
~Pignite!~ It snorted.
~Serperior!~ Ivy hissed back.
I fell backwards from my swing, hitting my head on the ground making the world spin. I shakily got to my knees and looked around, blinking in confusion. Dreamy followed my actions having fallen from my hood.
When things stopped spinning I noticed Ivy being hit by another plume of fire. She was thrown to my feet, barely being able to lift her head up.
A man, cloaked in shadows, stepped foreword praising his Pokemon as 'Pignite'. He looked at me evilly. "So the princess finally leaves the castle."
"L-leave me alone." I stuttered, scampering away from the man and closer to Ivy. I hugged the defeated Serperior close as she hissed weakly, glaring at the advancing man.
"Now now, I don't want to hurt you. I just want to borrow you a while, until I get what I want from your daddy." He said in a teasing tone while coming closer to me.
I whimpered and pushed myself further away, still hugging Ivy close.
Dreamy stood up protectively between me and him, sending out little sparks of electricity.
"Pignite, take care of the mouse will you?"
With a single burst of fire, Dreamy fell to the ground. "Dreamy!" I called out of fear, scooping him into my arms.
"Now are you going to come without fuss or do I have to hurt you?"
I flinched back before shouting for help as loud as I could.
"I didn't want to have to do this, Pignite use Arm Thrust. But try not to damage her."
All I saw was the Pokemon rushing towards me before feeling a sharp pain in the side of my head and I blacked out.
~•~•~
Everything came back slowly. It sounded like I was in a car but when I opened my eyes, I couldn't see anything. I whimpered and tried to sit up, only to hit my head on something hard above me.
I cried out in pain and shock, reaching out to feel around me. From what I could tell, I was laying in a small roofed box. I whimpered in fear since I was extremely claustrophobic and rested my head back on the floor but found some sort of wet and sticky substance where it was.
I raised my hand and touched the drying, sticky puddle, bringing it to my nose to sniff it.
Blood.
I let out a small yelp and pulled back, hitting my head again on the roof above me. Tears fell from my eyes and I let out a sob.
~Ser?~ A groggy but familiar voice said.
"I-ivy?" I whimpered.
~Ser.~ I felt her wiggle into my arms and I let a small sigh of relief while I hugged her close to my chest.
"Where's Dreamy?" I asked my Pokemon, holding her close while I sobbed into her fuzz.
~Pi-cha.~ The next thing the box lit up and I could clearly see Ivy who looked badly burnt from battling the 'Pignite' and Dreamy who was only a little bruised. I could see the mostly dried puddle of blood on the bottom of the box where my head had been and gasped when I saw hold big it actually was. I raised my hand to where 'Pignite' had hit me to find a dried scab. Blood was all through my hair, face and cloths. Just the sight of it made me sick.
Ivy nudged my chin and reached up to close my eyes. She let out gentle shushing sounds, wrapped herself under my arm and head before resting her own on my neck. Dreamy crawled into my arms and looked up at my with his fall brown eyes as the light he had made began to dimen.
"I'm scared." I whimpered, squeezing my eyes closed.
~Pi.~ Dreamy mumbled, hugging my tightly with his small paws.
~Ser.~ Ivy hissed lightly, squeezing my slightly tighter. Reassuringly.
I let out a small sniff and allowed myself to slowly drift off to sleep.
