Hetalia

"So...good news or bad news?"

Alfred's cheek bulged with buttery homemade pancake and maple syrup. "Goowd."

"You might want to slow down on that eating speed... Alright, why do I even bother?" He whispered to himself, rolling his eyes as the American ate with even more enthusiasm. Well, there was one time Alfred ate an entire burger king in just two or three bites while he was shopping for their groceries so Matthew isn't that surprised. "Ok. So the good news is no one protested about you being around them now (not really but we fixed that, he mused) but they might still be suspiscious of you, though I think you can handle yourself just fine."

'The connection can probably handle the rocky relationships for now.' Matthew thought to himself.

"Also, we have a few outings for a few days. If you want to come with us, you can. Your job alias is America and your name is Alfred. We're twin brothers and I'm the oldest-"

"Hold up! Why are you the oldest?" Alfred narrowed his eyes at the ever smiling Canadian.

"Because I said so-"

"What!? But that's totally unfai-"

"No, I'm superior in this house, Al. Because it's mine so my rules, eh."

Alfred's mouth hang agape at the still amused Matthew. "Now. Just to give some heads up, it might be awkward."

Alfred shook himself from their previous topic and smiled confidently. "Like you said dude, I can handle myself just fine! I'm the Hero after all!" He winked dismissively.

"Whatever you say, Al." He fondly shakes his head. Alfred is always surprisingly nonchalant of his situation for as far as he knew. "Anyways, on to the bad news..."

Alfred snorted at the dramatic pause. Geez, and they say he's the dramatic one.

....Ok. Maybe he is.

Looking like he read his mind, Matthew grinned, "The bad news is you really have to look out for yourself because you are going to be the elephant of the room."

Alfred slowly swallowed the mouthful of pancake, "Figured that much at least."

Matthew nodded, "Thought so."

After a few more mouthful of pancakes, Alfred licked the maple syrup off his lips and went to wash his dishes.

He badly wants to talk with the others like he used to back in his world. Even if they aren't the ones he grew to talk with, they're still the nations with the same overall.

Ah, now that he thought of the outings, he really wished it involves food. Alfred unconsciously drools at the thought of them.

Matthew snorts on the table.

Yeah he definitely can handle himself.

Silence.

Then, a small giggle from one of the small crowd almost made him want to die out of embarrassment.

"I told you not to laugh at me," Alfred pouts, more out of exasperation than being cute or, God forbid, whiny. "Why don't one of you go? And, you know, get to dress normally?" He huffed at some of the females in the room.

"This is how you dress normally in here, Alfred-san."

"B-But..." Alfred sighed. When it comes to this kind of things, Kiku won't let him go until he is satisfied. "Do I really have to wear this, dude?"

"Yes, Alfred-san. It is what this company is for after all." Japan smiled politely as he finished tying the ribbon behind Alfred.

Alfred never felt so embarassed as he is right now in a long time. He shyly glanced at the mirror and gasped at what he saw.

Alfred looked at himself in the mirror, smoothing the wrinkles out on the little, lacy white apron. He looked so... feminine in the maid outfit. Maybe even attractive and somehow, that was worse than being hideous. He was muscular but thin enough for the outfit to not look grotesque.

But oh my Gosh, he IS supposed to be muscular so why does he look like a girl???

His legs had never felt so naked before. Or his underarms. He almost wanted to kick the mirror for no good reason but that won't do any good for him. Tugging at the short dress that barely covered his thighs, he glared weakly at the giggling Canadian and a staring Japanese.

"Mm." Japan nodded again, "Don't worry Alfred-san, England-san and some of us are also wearing the same clothes." He said as Alfred bowed slightly for Kiku when he gestured for him to come a little bit closer. The shorter male smiled and placed something on top of his head.

Alfred blinked and turned his face towards the mirror again, only to cover his face, his red face. If Spain was here, he'd swear he look like one of his tomatoes. Oh right, he IS here, smiling and maybe laughing secretly.

"Dude! You never told me this is a cat cafe!" He exclaimed, flailing his arms around the air.

Japan chuckled under his breath. Prussia was practically wheezing while France, who was just there to look for a certain Brit, smirked at him as his eyes looked up and down.

Alfred internally screamed.

Alfred is actually pretty proud of himself just because of the fact that he managed to not make this whole thing look stupid. He just had to go out there, ask for their orders, get those stuff unto their tables aaannnnd repeat. Easy right?

Yeah right. It is. But it's very very uncomfortable. He can feel every eyes on him which sure, he's the new guy after all. Still, it's a little bit unnerving. Geez.

Can't they just look somewhere else. At the legit female ones like Hungary? It ain't that hard.

He swayed his hips just like how Japan (And France) told him to do whenever he can, but it's starting to hurt. Not to mention the heels! This is an absolute nightmare! (He's getting the hang of it though, to his surprise (horror)).

The bright side of this whole thing is that he can talk with others (even if it's just for a bit) and even have the priviledge to eat food from Italy! Unlike everyone else, bless his kind soul.

"America!"

Alfred almost snapped at that point. He stopped and slowly faced the man with an almost forced smile twitching on his face. "What can I do for you, Gilbert."

Germany sighed, shaking his head while Gilbert grinned at the sound of his name. "I want beer!" He exclaimed.

Alfred rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, "Yesh." He gritted his teeth, resting his hand on his hip and nodding at the man sarcastically. "I heard that like... fifteen times already and the answer is still the same, dude. There ain't no alcohol here." Then he smiled brightly and almost pressed his face at the Prussian's shocked face, shadowing his own as his white teeth bared at him in a way that screamed 'Im gonna kill you if you dont shut up'. "So if you want to be stupid for a while you can go outside and take beers at a bar somewhere else yeah?"

Gilbert gulped as he frantically nodded at him. Romano cackled at the back while Gemany sighed yet again.

"Great to be on the same page then." The American turned and walked away.

After Alfred was out of the scene, Spain inched himself closer to Germany's group table, "I think you just got owned there, Amigo." He grinned

Apparently, everyone else was amused at that.

Alfred yawned as he walked past Arthur who gave a small pat on his back, walking towards France's table. The American shortly asked Japan for permission to go outside for a bit and when he got it, he quickly shot the Japanese a big wide grin and practically ran outside, glad to be out of there even if it's just for a bit.

It really is a bit tiring working at a cafe like that. The sun was already setting slowly when he walked past the door.

He hummed as he walked along the street, closing his eyes for a moment only to snap them wide open as his body was roughly pushed against a wall, his back facing his captor. The American felt a sharp object pressing his hip, he yelped in surprise, totally not expecting that.

"Give me your wallet if you don't wanna die, kid."

...A thief of all people? Seriously?

"I said give me your wallet or else!"

Alfred awkwardly shifted a bit. He didn't want to hurt the guy so he just played along as long as it didn't get too much. "I uh... I don't really have my wallet right now..."

They stayed just like that for a few minutes before the man pressed the object harder, "Stop lying kid and give me the f*cking wallet."

Alfred sighed. Yeah there's no helping it alright. He was about to strike the man's stomach with his elbow when he suddenly heard something fast struck the man's head with a sickening crunch. Alfred immediately jumped away from the attacker, ready to fight the unknown man who knocked the thief across the area.

The figure walked nonchalantly towards Alfred, his face can't be seen clearly at (nearly) night. Alfred squinted his eyes, trying to see past the silhouette.

When he saw the same familiar small smile and purple eyes, he huffed exasparately. "Wtf dude! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"I'm surprised you didn't, having all that fats from calories."

Alfred sputtered out words that didn't even exist. After a few sec, he narrowed his eyes, "How'd you even know where I was?"

Ivan just smiled, "I stalked you for a while, da?"
