Protective
Ever since the Korean War, America has been protective of South Korea

The sound of battle cries filled the air, mixing in with the sounds of gunshots. The land was in chaos as countless numbers of men fought and spread the chaos more and more. Not too far away, two men stood overlooking the fighting, their expressions dire.
"I can't believe this is happening..."
"Don't worry, I'm here to help. I'll get you through this."
The two men looked at each other, the blond one smiling encouragingly to his companion. The brunet didn't seem too convinced as he placed a hand on his chest and closed his eyes.
"I can feel them... I can feel their lives slipping away..." Korea murdered as he frowned. He had never felt such an awful feeling before, and it only made matters worse knowing that his older brother was the cause of this... Both of his brothers were the cause of his people dying.
America stared at Korea for a while, a look of anger flashing through his eyes. He knew what it was like to fight your other half and the man that basically raised you. He knew the pain that Korea was going through, and that's why he begged his boss to help this country. He didn't want anyone else to have to go through what he did... He would fight his hardest to protect Korea from North and China and Russia and whoever else tried to hurt him.
In a busy neighborhood, there was a large glass building that stood out from the wood and brick houses nearby. The building seemed normal and like one would think of when seeing a sign that had a government seal. If anyone was to listen closely though, they would hear many different languages being yelled from inside.
There was a World Meeting in China and, as usual, everyone was fighting. Even when China was banging his wok to get everyone's attention, hardly anyone noticed.
"Enough, aru!" China yelled, throwing his wok. Unfortunately, since not a lot of people were paying attention, a very unlucky Korea got hit in the back of the head.
"Ow!" Korea yelped, holding the back of his head. He turned to look at China with a pout and glare. "First you steal my idea for the wok and now you hit me with it?!"
"I did not steal it, aru! It was my idea first!"
"Was not!"
"Was too!"
The rest of the countries stopped talking to each other and watched as the two argued, starting to yell at each other in their separate languages.
While the others chuckled at the 'family argument', a blue eyed country paid close attention to what was being said. America might not have been a master of either language, but he knew enough to understand that insults were flying. He flinched as Korea shouted something particularly nasty, making China freeze for a full second before grabbing him and putting him in a headlock.
"What did you say, aru?! I taught you better than that!"
Korea struggled as he kicked his legs out and knocked over a chair, still yelling short phrases at the older man.
America's fist clenched when he saw Korea's face turning colors, and how the struggles turned more desperate. Still though, China didn't let go. Memories started to flood through the American from a darker time...
"Let go...!" Korea yelled as he struggled in North's grip. The other nation had his brother pinned to the ground, glaring at him as he pushed a knife into his throat.
"How dare you!" North Korea screamed at his brother, "How dare you resist! We are brothers! We are supposed to always be together! How could you refuse to join my cause?"
"It's not right! We shouldn't control our people so much like that! They're people, they deserve some freedom!"
"Now you're just sounding like that wehgukin..! His only purpose is to divide us! You have to resist him!" North didn't notice how much pressure he was putting on his knife, the blade cutting into South's neck slightly.
In a split second, North was off of South and out of the way just as a bullet whizzed past where his head just was. Both the Koreans looked to the side and saw America standing not far away with a smoking gun in his hand. North growled before turning to retreat, sending his brother one last glare before disappearing into the fog.
America walked over and knelt beside Korea, helping him sit up. His eyes widened in surprise when Korea suddenly wrapped his arms around his torso and began to cry into America's chest. The blond's eyes softened as he hugged him back and patted his shoulder comfortingly, promising that the pain would go away soon.
A choking noise was heard from Korea as his struggling became frantic. Before anyone could react, a pair of hands slammed down on the table.
America lowered his head slightly to where his bangs covered his eyes, his glasses barely visible while catching the light and making them shine. "China, that's enough. Let Korea go."
Everyone turned to look at America as they sensed the sudden change in aura, frowning slightly at him. China raised an eyebrow before letting South Korea go, going to sit back down at the head of the table.
"Yo, you okay, dude?" America asked, placing his arm around Korea's shoulder.
"Yeah, thanks for that."
"Anytime." America's eyes scanned over Korea's face, noticing how pale it was. Even if it was a while back, the Korean War and China's involvement was still haunting for Korea...
"What was that about, aru? I wasn't hurting him." China frowned, crossing his arms. America shot him a glare that had even Russia flinching.
"Èr bǎi wǔ wáng bā dàn." America said, causing the few countries that knew Chinese to gasp.
China started turning red and ranted in his language while the other countries looked on in confusion, and America simply sat back down in his chair. He pulled out the seat next to him and let Korea sit down as well, the two beginning to talk and ignore China until Germany called order.
America and Korea were silent as Korea laid on a hospital bed. War was a messy business, but at least they didn't have to worry about lasting effects.
"Was this really the right thing to do, America?" Korea asked suddenly. "What if I fail at being independent? What if North won't forgive me for not joining him and China and Russia?"
America looked over at the country and lowered his head in thought for a while, thinking over his answer. He couldn't be brash during this time, or everything he and his people worked for would be ruined.
"Well... I think this was right, no body's happy by being controlled like North wanted. And no one can really fail at being independent, but if you manage to, then I'll come help you again." He grinned and held a thumb up, "That's what friends are for, right?"
Korea was quiet before nodding and smiling, "You're right. Thank you for your help, America. I don't know what I would have done if you wouldn't have listened to me."
"Of course, dude! What kind of hero would I be if I just let you suffer like that? Totally not cool!"
Korea smiled to himself while glancing at America, turns out asking for his help during the Korean War had some good lasting effects. Overprotective superpower nations were great protection for when China relived his bully days.
A/N: I made some edits to this, and made it a bit longer. I hope that made it better? I don't know much about the Koreas or the Korean War, so this might be OOC or facts that are totally wrong... I'm sorry... T^T
Èr bǎi wǔ basically means stupid
wáng bā dàn means Son of a B****
