Father's Day

"Oi, America!"

Alfred turned around at the call of his name, seeing England walk up to him. "Yo, Iggy Brows, what's up?"

A bushy brow twitched at the nickname but he didn't comment on it for once. "You need to go back home, right now. I just got a call from your boss saying there was an emergency at your place."

Alfred's eyes widened as he turned and ran out of the world building, not giving anyone so much as a glance as he left. His states had all gathered together to throw him a party next week, since he was away for a world meeting during Father's Day. With all of them together like they were, anything could happen... Califonia was a pyromaniac, Texas was a gun fanatic, Florida was into dangerous wildlife, and forty-seven other problems all under one roof. America was very worried about what could have happened.

When Alfred's private jet landed, his boss was waiting for him in the hanger which set Alfred's nerves into overdrive. Was it really so bad that his boss had to pick him up?

"Boss, can you tell me what happened? No one is telling me anything about it!"

The president's face gave nothing away as he looked out the limo's window. Alfred glared at him as he went back to texting all of his states, with no answer as of yet. When they got to the mansion, Alfred tore out of the car and ran inside. It was very quiet inside and that was never a good thing when it came to having fifty young children in the same house.

Once inside, he turned on the lights in the foyer, calling out for anyone that might answer him. No one did. Alfred cursed under his breath as he started searching every room, each one coming up empty without so much as a single staff member.

He was about to go upstairs when a thought struck him. He hadn't checked the dining room yet... But why would anyone be in the dining room? The states hardly ever used it, so there would be no reason for anyone to be there. Nonetheless, it would be best to check anyway.

Alfred turned around and started walking to the room, he turned the lights on and almost jumped out of his skin when he became under attack.

Confetti and streamers and horns and poppers and people yelling at him coupled with the sudden light was almost too much for him to handle. His eyes scanned the room and realized that it was the states that were yelling 'Happy Father's Day' at him while littering the floor with various papers.

"What...? What's all this?" He asked, his brain trying to comprehend what was happening.

"We knew you wouldn't come any other way," Virginia said with a smile as she held Hawaii on his hip, "so we called in a few favors to get you here just in time for Father's Day."

Hawaii reached out for America who gently took her, bowing his head down as she placed a lei over his head and kissed his cheek. "Happy Daddy Day!"

Alfred looked around the room, seeing all fifty of his children smiling at him as he slowly started relaxing and smiled back.

"You're all little rascals, every single one of you," He grinned, "and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Suddenly, Alfred was swarmed by children in a dog pile that he suspected was supposed to be a group hug. He laughed as he hugged as many of them as he could without getting crushed under them.

Just leave it to the kids to brighten his day up... Such a horrible week was suddenly turned into one of the best all thanks to these fifty states. He was so glad that he had them in his life, he didn't know what he'd do if anything ever happened to any one of them... This day might have been about honoring him, but he took the time to delight himself in his family as well.

A/N: just in time for Father's Day! I've been on the phone with my dad all day when I decided I should write a chapter in this story. It's a bit short, but that's just because I didn't plan it out. I hope you like it regardless and happy Dad Day!!
